Keep getting a message that states the 911 system needs maintenance. When starting my Jeep my screen will stay blank for about 3-5 minutes before coming on. When it is blank I am unable to use my back up camera, adjust my climate controls, bluetooth phone. The vehicle will switch between air conditioning and heat, high fan and low fan speed. When the screen is blank I am unable to do anything.....even using the buttons below the screen do not work. I am unable to unlock my doors using my door unlock/lock control on the drivers side. While im driving I can unlock my doors, which as a safety feature I should not be able to do. My oil change notification will not go away even after getting my oil changed.

While driving my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee one morning while it was still dark I noticed that the drivers side head light went out and came back on intermittently. The next morning I tried again and all the lights went in and out completely. Providing a very dangerous satiation not only to me but other driver's. I made an appointment with the dealer (had to wait one week to get it in to service). They checked it out and said they needed to order a part and gave the Jeep back and would call when they had the part. When we took it back for the repairs they kept the Jeep for three weeks trying to fix the problem. Saying they could not figure out the fix after Chrysler told them to change a part in the computer system. When that did not work they contacted Chrysler and got a technician who advise that the headlights were the problem. The dealer change out the headlights and charged us $917.88 for the repairs saying it was not covered by my extended warranty. I truly believe this is a Chrysler problem with electrical issues, wiring or computers and should be covered by Chrysler not by individual owners. This is substantiated by all the complaints for the same type of problem.

The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While driving approximately 30 mph, the vehicle started to lose power and the low battery indicator illuminated. The vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road as the contact noticed smoke from underneath the hood. A burning odor was perceived. The vehicle was towed to walser Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram (866-323-0559, located at 314 mainstreet, hopkins, mn 55343) where it was diagnosed that the alternator needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 44,000.

Went to start my car today, and there was a long crank but the car did not turn on. This happened 2 more times. Finally, the third time during the long crank, I stepped on the accelerator and the engine finally turned on. During the whole thing, the dashboard was on, lights were on, and radio was on - so it was not a battery issue. There was no warnings on my dashboard and no lights turned on afterwards - as if everything was fine. I am worried because I have read multiple listings regarding cars stalling while in drive, or worsening of these symptoms. I know there has been a tpim recall contributing to faulty stalling - but 2014 model was not covered under the recall. If my car symptoms become progressively worse - I am afraid that my car will shut off while I am driving - placing me and others on the road in high risk for danger.

I bought the vehicle nearly 2 years ago and it has had this problem intermittently. At least once a week, the radio/phone/navigation panel will not start when the car does. So I have no heat or air conditioning, no back up camera, no radio, no handsfree phone. This situation usually lasts about 5 minutes but eventually will start. I have not been to the dealership to see about it so I don't know what it is. But this has the potential to be very dangerous for me. I am a realtor and I've put 70K miles on my car in the past year. I am in it all the time and I need these features to work. I bought this particular vehicle used and I love everything about it, except this. Please do a recall on this feature. I'm not the only person that has had these problems.

When I start up my truck the center console will not come on right away, it takes about 3 to 5 minutes for it to come on, so when I'm backing up I cannot tell if anything is in my way. My sensors don't work, etc. When it do decide to come on, a message pops up ( vehicle phone requires service please contact your dealer ) this is the second time this has happened the first time this happened I took the vehicle to the dealership and I was told that the radio has to be replaced.so I had the radio replaced and this happened less than a year ago. Now it's happening again. This started 9/24/2018 and have been happening every day sense then.

My husband and I financed our Jeep about 8 months ago and it had been running fine. No problems at all. We don't drive it often. A couple weeks ago we went to start it and all the dash lights came on and it wouldn't go into gear. It said put it in park and then select gear or something like that. We called gresham Toyota ( where we bought the Jeep) and they said to tow it over so they could run diagnostics. After towing it there they said we had to toe it to keep because they can't do diagnostics. We towed it to gresham Jeep and they said we broke the shifter. How do you break a shifter"?" I know we didn't break the shifter and it has to be some sort of a defect. It's now costing us $1400 to fix. I can only imagine what this would have done if it happened while we were driving.

My 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, shut down while I was driving in the issaquah fall city road. Steering wheels locked and brakes failed and everything shut down. I barely made it to the walgreens parking lot where the vehicle completely died to the point where even the keys wouldn't work. I barely made it alive. I am glad I didn't crash into anyone. I had to tow the vehicle later in the day to the dealership. They asked me to drop it off at their garage. Today they got back to me saying, there was an open recall on the vehicle and that caused the alternator to fail and shut down everything. They said because it's an open recall they would fix it themselves as it's covered under some warranty. But they also told me that there is an issue with some oil pressure sensor and the AWD system is stuck in AWD and they will have to fix it and have me a parts and labor charge of 2000 usd which I have to bear. Is this normal practice. I don't know how the AWD system suddenly got into this state. If it's a result of the alternator issue caused by the open recall, wouldn't they manufacturer/dealer have to bear it.. thanks !!

I received an over the air update for my vehicle, which I began to install. The installation failed, and the next time I got in my car many things were wrong, some of which are a major safety concern to me. When I place the car in reverse the backup camera should come up and the mirrors automatically redirect downwards. Since attempting to install this update, sometimes these things don't happen at all, or have a long delay (others it works as it should). Other times, the backup camera and mirrors will stay on as if I am still in reverse well after I begin driving the vehicle, which makes it impossible for me to use the side mirrors and is very distracting and dizzying seeing the backup camera while driving. Additionally, the gps has been impacted and often has me on a different road and announces a speed limit incorrectly. I can not find a way to stop the voice from announcing the speed limit while I'm driving. In addition, my bluetooth, presets and usb connection all stopped working. Again, all of this was working 100% until this update that was sent to my car. I believe the fact that this update was sent to my car unsolicited and resulted in these issues with the backup camera, mirrors, gps and speed limit confusion are all safety concerns and seem like something that would be worth reviewing for a potential recall. Fyi, I did take this to the dealership and was told my only solution was to completely replace the radio and computer at an out of pocket cost of $2,400.

My 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee recently had the check engine light come on. The error code is "P0520 - engine oil pressure sensor". Jeep has a service bulliten out for this being that it is a known issue and to replace with a revised part. However, that is only coverdd under warranty. Otherwise, it is a very expensive repair due to the labor involved. There is multiple occurances of this as I have seen in Jeep forums and wondering how this is even allowed" if Jeep is aware of a faulty part, how can they get away with not recalling this? and putting the expense on their consumers? I know this does not involve safety directly but this does not seem ethical to me. Is there a way an investigation can be done on this" this occured when starting my engine and the light came on. The oil pressure reading in the dash is clearly not reading correctly.

Sunroof has failed 6 times and is now ready for it's 7th repair. The sunroof's automatic functions stop working so when it fails you have to push the close button repeatedly while the sunroof moves maybe 1/4" on each depression of the button. The dealer replaced the motor once and for the other 4 times I was told it needed to be calibrated. The last sunroof failure they went in and went through all of the electrical connectors and said they found some electrical wiring problems and fixed them. The sunroof failed again 2 weeks later. The airbag warning light, due to another electrical connector issue. The electronics in the vehicle malfunctions regularly which affect the radio controls, navigation, central locking, phone, and I get random erroneous errors on the dash display. The radio/navigation units have been replaced. The navigation screen locks up but the voice will continue to give you verbal instructions. If you manually lock the vehicle and start walking away the horn will beep twice and the vehicle will unlock like the keys have been locked in the car, even though they are in your hand. I was told you cannot use the lock buttons on your door to lock the vehicle. When you walk up to the car and grab the door handle to unlock the car it fails, and you have to grab the door handle all over repeatedly to get it to unlock. The dash display will give false messages while driving like already in desired gear and no one has touched the shifter. The voice will come on randomly and ask you what number you want to call, again no buttons nor the display have been touched. Error on display memory system, the programmed seat switches were replaced. Transmission issue, the module was replaced. Rear hatch failure, finally switch was replaced. Rear tail light lens replaced as it was full of water. Check engine light, faulty oil pressure switch. Engine vibration, bad ac comp.

This incident regards the T-36 recall issued by Fiat/Chrysler, which involves 2012-2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee (among others), and "affects vehicles equipped with electro-hydraulic power steering systems, 5.7L or 3.6L engines, and 160, 180, or 220 amp alternators. In those vehicles, NHTSA says that the alternator may fail without warning." During June 2018, my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee (summit trim), experienced sudden alternator failure while in motion on a highway. The alternator started to smoke, and by the time I had reached my destination, there was grey smoke barreling out of the hood of my car and the battery was completely dead. The Jeep had to be towed to a nearby dealership for repairs. In addition to the alternator and battery replacment, the tensioner, idler and serpentine belt had to be replaced due to undue strain placed on them by the alternator failure. The incident that occurred matches the description of the T-36 recall. Additionally, the year, make, engine size, and amperage of the alternator all match the description given in the T-36 recall. However, the VIN number for my particular Jeep did not appear under the recall, and therefore, Jeep/Chrysler would not repair my Jeep under that particular recall. They did fix the Jeep, but at my cost (the owner). I 100% believe this an oversight by Jeep/Chrysler (or maybe NHTSA) and should be remedied immediately. I do believe there are other Jeep owners that are unaware of this issue, due to the lack of notification by Jeep/Chrysler, and will experience the same issue, which could cause an accident and lead to injury. Please review the details of my Jeep VIN and why it was not included in the T-36 recall. If this happened to my Jeep, then I imagine it will happen to others. Fortunately, I was not injured, but others could be injured who are unaware of this issue. Please contact me with any questions.
