My vehicle has a long crank but will not turn over. Stuck numerous times. The dealer said they can't find the problem but I see online that earlier models were recalled for the same problem. It was said a faulty fuel pump relay. Am wondering if this is the same problem.

Every time I fill up my gas tank my vehicle will stall out. This has been going on for months now. I took it to the dealership and they are telling me this was a known error and chryster has made modifications to the gas tank/vaper lock but I am responsible for the $1600 it will cost to fix it. If this is a known defect, then it should be covered under a recall.

Our dealership completed epa and carb emissions recall V08 for 3.0L diesel emissions on 20 May 2019. Mileage out was 63,819. 200 miles later, we started the vehicle as normal. Less than a mile later, as we started to accelerate onto the highway, the check engine light came on and our vehicle's information center displayed two separate diesel exhaust fluid (def) related warnings. The first saying def needed service/contact the dealership, while the second warning said we could not restart the vehicle after driving another 200 miles. We immediately found a safe spot to pull over and called the dealership. The acting service manager advised us that it was safe to drive the vehicle to the dealership as long as there were no obvious performance issues. He said it was probably emission related, that we would be ok if we didn't drive over 200 miles. He said going over 200 miles might abruptly put the vehicle into a "limp mode"! we were 150 miles away from the dealership but the vehicle was otherwise operating normally, so we took the service manager's advice and drove to the dealership. Our Jeep is an off-road, trail-rated, go anywhere vehicle designed to be used out in the wilderness/national parks as well as on the highway. It is an unacceptable safety hazard for the vehicle's computer to have control over starting because of an emission violation/problem. Especially when in a remote location where a reliable vehicle is paramount to safety. Moreover, there is significant potential for a serious crash if the vehicle abruptly goes into a "limp mode" either out on the highway or at a stop light. To date, our dealership has not found a solution to the check engine light nor the def warnings. They are keeping our vehicle and working with Fiat/Chrysler automotive (fca) representatives and engineers on a solution.

The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While refueling the vehicle, the fuel filler neck came off while removing the fuel pump. The failure caused fuel to spill from the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer and dealer were not notified. The failure mileage was 80,000.

We have had problems with our 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee for about 2 years with some delay in acceleration when at complete stop and then lurching forward. Our alternator is now needing to be replaced and is not on the recall list for 2014 Jeep with defective alternator. Ours clearly has a defective alternator.

There is a button on the inside of my Jeep Grand Cherokee to open the fuel door and every time I hit this button the fuel door would make a sound like it was trying to open and it wouldn't. so I was unable to put gas in my car. I took it to my nearest dealership and they had to replace the fuel door housing. Parts and labor cost $448 with tax and it was a 3 1/2 hour job to do but I had to fix this in order to put fuel into my car.

Two occurrences of catastrophic engine failure leaving me stranded on highway fearing for my life. First event dealer had Jeep for 5 months to "replace motor" I had to contact them several times after getting it back to obtain documentation and was told original warranty of 100K miles would be renewed. Recent second occurrence at 60K miles on new motor dealership has now had vehicle for over 2 months. Now trying to charge me for high pressure diesel pump they replaced, car still not running. Plan to replace all valves, will it run? initially it had shown so many codes they couldn't determine why the car failed. NHTSA has over 130 complaints on this motor. Jeep Fiat Chrysler awaiting govt. To sign off on emissions scandal settlement that will allow them to not have to buy back this vehicle, unlike Volkswagen who did the right thing for same issue and bought back. Unlike Volkswagen this vehicle has multiple documented defects and safety issues. I am being stonewalled by Jeep for resolution. Since my purchase of this Jeep in 10/2014 it has been in for repairs unrelated to normal use more times than I can count, over 7 months in shop while I am paying on it without being able to use it. I purchased this vehicle for reliability, it has failed that test over time. They could again replace the motor and I do not want the vehicle back, I will not again risk being stranded on the highway, engine nearly on fire after shaking, knocking, rocking, and smoking not able to turn off until it dies. I refuse to resell it to some unknowing unsuspecting person that will end up with a lemon if the dealer gets it running. This Jeep needs to be recalled immediately before someone loses their life! Jeep and the dealer service departments need to be made to stop defrauding consumers and making millions on a defective lemon. I have never had so many issues with a vehicle in my life. Help!!!

As approaching an intersection I began to coast and place my foot on the brake. At the time I started to brake, the vehicle surged forward for 1 second. As I came closer to a stop, the vehicle surged again at which point I had to "stand" on the brake pedal to prevent me and my family from rear-ending a vehicle and going into a busy intersection.

Car cut off without any warning in traffic. I was almost rear ended. I had to call 911 because I was blocking traffic. Car was towed. It was determined the fuel pump and fuel gauge sender unit needed replacing which is expensive. This car is just 4 years old and I've kept it serviced. If I had been on the interstate I could have been injured. I have receipts.

My Jeep Grand Cherokee 2014, was driving perfectly until 3 days ago when went to the mall and parked my car in the mall parking lot ( vehicle was stationary), when returned to my car gas was dripping from underneath my car drivers side and my car did not start and engine light turned on, car had to get towed to a body shop for repair. 3 days later car is still not safe to drive because it is still dripping gas, this never happened before. I found online other Jeep Grand Cherokee owners had similar problems. Please investigate it's a safety issue.

Vehicle was in motion, traveling West. Vehicle was being driven at normal interstate speeds. Vehicle began to make a slight jarring sound along with a thumping feeling, as if driving along the knock strips. This was consistently occurring every 7 seconds or so, as if a tire was shredded. Vehicle began to accelerate along with traffic flow. Engine light began illuminating. Engine began to feel lethargic. All digital gauges were indicating normal temps and pressure. No tire warnings. Vehicle began to exhibit smoke smell in vents. Vehicle became harder to accelerate to attempt to alleviate issue, as if stuck in between gears. Vehicle became harder to control. Switched from left lane to far right to reduce speed. Vehicle became more lethargic. As vehicle proceeded up exit ramp to leave interstate, transmission automatically went into neutral. Vehicle was able to coast into gas station parking lot. Vehicle was shut off. Raised hood, and there was a smell similar to rotten eggs, like a natural gas smell. No obvious damage as if it was physical. No belts or hoses appeared loose or hanging. No fluids were visibly leaving engine. No smoke or steam. Attempted to restart vehicle after several minutes to cool engine due to hotter temperatures. Vehicle has push button starter. Vehicle would not start for roughly 15 seconds with brake pedal depressed. Vehicle sounded like it was straining to start. Roadside assistance was notified. Upon arrival, tow truck operator had extreme difficulty starting vehicle. Vehicle had to be forced onto tow truck using cable release in center console. Electrical systems functioned fine. No damage to body or underside upon examination of good samaritans and tow truck operator. Vehicle has roughly 74, xxx miles, of which roughly 45,000 are highway mileage. Vehicle is maintained regularly for oil changes and has had tires rotated and balanced.

I was sitting at a traffic light waiting for the light to turn green so I could turn, when I smelled gas. I thought it was from outside the vehicle as when I opened my window I could smell it outside. After I made the turn, I was stopped at the next traffic light when the vehicle stalled out. I tried to start the vehicle but it would not start and an intense smell of gasoline filled the cabin of the vehicle. When I exited the vehicle I looked underneath the vehicle and noticed that gasoline was pouring out the bottom of the vehicle in a steady stream and appeared to be dripping from other parts of the underside. I promptly turned of the vehicle and backed away from the vehicle for fear that a fire was a real possibility. The vehicle was eventually towed to a Jeep dealership which found that the "traced to fuel line broken from intake manifold." I do not recall the vehicle having hit anything or run over anything that might have cause any damage to the underside of the vehicle or the fuel line.

The vehicle stalls while you are driving it, transmission light comes on. It says place in park to restart but sometimes takes forever and then it sputters. Sometimes when you turn the vehicle off you can still hear the fuel pump operating. This has happened several times now. I have a child and if anything happens- like getting ran over by oncoming traffic and either of us gets hurt- someone is going to pay dearly. It's not like Jeep Chrysler doesn't know about this problem. Please make them pull all of these vehicles off of the road before someone gets killed. Thank you! the last time it stalled was during my father's funeral..thanks Jeep!!! it states the last time and miles...let me tell you, this isnt the only time!!

Issue: When I put fuel into my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, whether I am pumping or whether it is on auto pump, the fuel spits back out. Even if you try holding the fuel pump lever so that only very minimal fuel is coming out, it continuously "stops"(like it should when the tank has become full) it's almost as if the fuel cannot go down into the vehicle, as the vehicle thinks after 3 seconds of pumping it is full and spits back out(usually all over my hands or clothes).

Fuel pump failure at 1/4 tank of gas. Occurred while making a left out of a parking lot. Suddenly no forward propulsion of vehicle when pressing gas, in the middle of exiting the parking lot. Cleared the left turn with slow forward momentum and car shut off after maneuvering to side of the road. Car unable to start after that. Had it towed to the dealer. Dealer advised of secondary fuel pump failure, which assists when less than 1/4 tank of gas available. A search of forums indicates others having a similar problem.

Fuel delivery system (notably tank filler and related emissions equipment) poorly designed to fail just after California 50K mileage warranty. Dealer wants $800 to fix a problem the mfg. Designed. Alternator recall-with no related parts to repair-driving and waiting for the vehicle to erupt into a ball of fire is unacceptable. What components are being installed on 2018 models" why can't those parts be installed on my 2014" I am being prejudiced against, as I cannot legally (thanks to ab 217) trade the vehicle in, as no dealer can resell it with an open safety recall!! I need to get another car-but I can't!!!!
