The vehicle has an oil leak problem which may be caused by the defect of cylinder head gasket, and some of other engine gaskets. The oil seal is problematic for this model.

Hello I-??ve seen some oil leakage all over engine of car. Mechanic stated the oil filter housing has to be replaced but not covered under jeep warranty. car is driving ok for now.I-??m at 79,000 miles. I-??m concerned that this may become a bigger issue especially fire hazard when driving car.I-??ve see similar issue on 2 other jeeps grand cherokees. I have not seen it come up as a recall but have seen multiple complaints.I feel that this is a mechanical issue and should be covered by Jeep.

The hydraulic lifter is failing causing the cam shaft to fail and need to be replaced. This is making a ticking noise and will only get worse. Chrysler knows this issue exists in the 3.6L pentastar V6 engines but will not recall and fix it.

While driving on the highway, the car suddenly started to generate a weird noise from the engine, and at the same time I was losing power, this was at 65mph. Now, the vehicle cannot go above 35mph without pushing down on the gas pedal. The RPM needle also doesn't move much. May be a Crankshaft Position Sensor issue as with the 3.0L engines.

The oil cooler/ oil filter housing cracked. My 2015 Jeep only has 49,000 miles on it. This is a huge safety problem. The oil leaked all over the transmission case and the exhaust. It was smoking really bad, this is a fire hazard!!! I found out that there has been many complaints on this issue and should be recalled for safety. The dealership told me to have it towed in because you can not drive it because it can catch on fire. Not good, someone can really get hurt!!! Recall this product.

Driving my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, in Oct 2021 and this weekend, slipped into neutral while driving on the highway at 50+ mph and wouldnt shift back into drive. displaying the message 'VEHICLE SPEED IS TOO HIGH TO SHIFT' while at full stop Stop sign Both times trying to restart it, the engine would rev violently and shut off, only to restart after a few minutes and drive as normal. Both times in high moving traffic, narrowly avoiding traffic. The 2nd time I was on the NY Triboro bridge and used road flares to alert traffic Called the dealer and they claimed to have never heard of this before. Couldnt find any issues or replicate the issue. attached are several issues of other drivers having the same issue and still @Jeepc laims no knowledge. Does someone have to die to fix this issue

Bad Lifters and rockers on left camshaft caused loud engine tick/knock. Occurred at 62000 miles. An apparent KNOWN common Jeep FCA problem for 2015 JGC WK. Hard/ rough transmission downshift from 3rd-2nd gear along with loud bang noise. Downshift is so violent it causes your foot to slip off the brake pedal when braking. Occurred at 67000 miles. Another known common problem for 2015 JGC WK. This is a dangerous vehicle and should be recalled for these issues before someone is seriously injured or an accident results in death.

Once the shifter was moved into "Drive", the transmission would automatically swith it to "Park" that would not allow any movement! It happened on the same day to all three of us. Several hours later, the transmission seemed to work. Waiting for diagnostic service at Umansky Jeep in Charlottesville, VA. This shifter movement could potentially lead to an accident! We occasionally tow a trailer and risk to other motorists and us would be substanstial! Please initiate invastigation sincere there a multiple complainst related to transmission.

I have a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. While traveling down the highway at approximately 65mph, the entire dash began to blink in and out, all kinds of error symbols flashed, I lost power steering and the car switched itself in to neutral -?" this resulted in an accident. This car has been In and out of the shop for the past several months. Every time it looks like it fixed, the car-??s computer seems to do as it pleases. I lose driving power, it switches itself in neutral or the dash throws error symbols. I am at a point where paying for constant -??repairs-?? and insurance is becoming way too costly. I do NOT feel safe riding with my family in this car!!!

The part that failed is identified as the Oil Cooler, I will request the dealer provide the defective unit. The part number for the Oil Cooler 68211323AB. There are two areas that would pose a safety concern when the Oil Cooler fails. When the Oil Cooler fails, oil is let into the cooling system. The oil level continues to fall to a point where it is very likely the engine will seize. There is no check engine indicator, the oil temperature indicator shows no rise in temperature. You would not know that there is any problem, If that happens while the vehicle is in motion it could prove to put occupants in jeopardy of injury. The second area of concern, as the oil bleeds into the cooling system it is unable to adjust for the additional fluid. The cooling system reservoir fills up and begins to overflow each time the vehicle is started and driven. The reservoir overflow is in the front right side of the engine compartment. When car is parked the oil flows on to everything that is below it. But when the car is in motion the oil covers the right side of the engine compartment. The result of the overflow could lead to a fire in the engine compartment, Oil on the rotor and brake could result in the malfunction of the brake mechanism. With oil in the cooling system the smell of diesel is very strong in the passage compartment. This may, lead to headaches, nausea, and eye irritation. The dealer did confirm the problem and provided a quote of $8600 to repair. The car has been inspected by and independent mechanic and the dealer-??s mechanic. As noted earlier there was no warning that a problem was occurring. The first sign of a problem was on the 17th of September. A large oil spill in my garage.

The oil cooler failed with no warning, no check engine indication. All indicators returned normal readings. Without a warning you continue to drive while your oil levels are falling. All of your oil goes into your cooling system. The chances are very high that you will have your engine seize. At a minimum the failure causes major repair issues, if it can be repaired at all. One of the more troubling out come of the failure, the oil will eventually over flow the coolant reservoir into the engine compartment. The oil is everywhere in the engine compartment. This alone would present a number of safety issues. My car is currently at the dealer, I was quoted $8,600 to repair and replace all affected parts. My research has turn up a number of jeep, chrsyler and ram truck owners are or have experienced this failure.

The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while getting a routine oil change shortly after, the warning light for a throttle box illuminated. The contact stated that in the past after getting the same oil change, the warning light for the tire pressure sensor light was illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who determined no failure indicated for the tires. The contact stated that every time they brought the vehicle in for inspection no failure was indicated despite the contact filling the tires with air. The contact stated that while driving on the freeway when they were attempting to drive the speed limit of 65 mph their vehicle could not accelerate beyond being between 45-50 mph. The contact was able to pull off the ramp where the vehicle eventually came to a seize. The vehicle began to smoke on the front end. The vehicle never turned into a full-blown fire however it did remain extremely overheated for a total of about 2 days. There were no injuries or medical attention needed. There was no police report. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. The vehicle was diagnosed that the head gasket had blown and the engine had melted. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 117,000.

2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 3.6 pentastar. Bought the vehicle 10-2020 and had issue with running hot due to faulty electric radiator cooling fan and thermostat and housing failure. Repaired the thermostat and hosing at local Jeep dealership. 2 weeks later, radiator cooling fan froze and ceased operation, replaced by independent repair shop. Within a couple the oil cooler and filter housing adapter developed a crack causing a catastrophic oil leak.
