Ever since the fca ecodiesel exhaust emissions update, my vehicle has had terrible turbo-lag. When you step on the accelerator, especially after a cold start it can take up to 4 seconds to actually move forward. I already reported this once before, but this vehicle is a serious hazard. Trying to cross any type of traffic is dangerous. It also has anywhere from 3-4mpg drop since the update.

My vehicle began to stall while cranking them it shut off and stop working after my fuel tank was below half a tank it left me stranded. I check the fuel pump fuse there was no power getting to the fuel the meter test revealed no power. The I saw the recalls on 2011, 2012, , 2013 Jeep and doges for tipm. The dealership said it is the fuel pump in such a young vehicle. This is dangerous for others had their Jeep shut off or stop working while in traffic.

After the fca eco diesel settlement recall the throttle on my Grand Cherokee deisel has severe lag until the car has been driven for several miles. It does not matter if you let the car warm up or not. It is so bad that you cannot trust it to pull out into traffic for fear the throttle will not engage even with adequate space for entering traffic. I have almost been hit several times trying to enter traffic due to this lag.

Emission check engine light for small evaporation emission system leak P0456 fault code. Also, fuel tank wont fill with fuel at higher nozzle flow rates... possibly due to tank check valve. The check engine light will disqualify the emission test for the vehicle and prevent obtaining a licence plate renewal. The check valve will only allow a slow fill using a manual grasp of the nozzle lever to restrict the flow to the smallest amount possible. This appears to be a common problem and needs a recall the refill is of course, is done in park, at a gas station. The check engine light occurs at startup.

Vehicle fire - while driving my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee ecodiesel, the vehicle lost power on a city street and spontaneously caught fire. The fire quickly filled the cabin with chemicals and smoke. There were no warning signs and luckily, due to the cold temperatures, the fire was put out before myself and the other occupant were burnt up in the car. After two weeks of investigations by the dealership and Fiat Chrysler, there is still no determination of the cause. The car was purchased new and less than three years old and the time of occurrence.

Between 1/2 & 1/4 tank the vehicle will run out of fuel and stall due to the secondary transfer fuel pump failing to run to transfer the remaining fuel in the horseshoe shaped tank to the side where the main pump draws fuel from. This happens without warning and vehicle will not start until you add fuel to bring the level above 1/2 tank. Have had it to dealer twice for replacement and the pump fails again shortly after. This is also a safety concern as vehicle can stall during passing or while in heavy traffic situations. This is a poorly engineered system and at the very least the secondary fuel pump needs to be recalled and improved to stop these failures

Capless gas cap cracked and it comes right off housing. I screw it back in and drive on, probably safety issue. Jeep dealer can only order entire capless filler assembly. $450 part w/install. They redesigned fuel filler assembly on newer Jeep, but this current faulty design should be recalled at no codt to owner! also the filler neck broke right at 36000 miles and couldnt fill with gas as it would act like it was full. Entire job $600

Vehicle unexpectedly stopped running while driving 70 mph on an interstate. The car began to lose acceleration while in cruise control and, upon trying to accelerate again, the steering wheel began to shake very hard. The car accelerated briefly before coming to a complete stop. I was thankfully able to veer off of the interstate on to the shoulder. After repeated tries, the car would not start. All electronics appeared to work except the gear shift would not move and the engine would not start. Car was towed to closest Jeep dealership who stated that code P0300 was found and that the fuel pump was no longer working.

While I was pumping gas, fuel started pooling under my vehicle. I was too scared to start it drive it, so, I had it towed to the dealer. A week and a half later, I'm still without a car as the dealer is awaiting a new gas tank to be delivered. They informed me it was a defect in the gas tank!!!! what if this would have happened on the highway!!!! I am so disappointed and scared now to even drive it when it gets fixed. Not a comforting feeling that I could've exploded.

I have the exodiesel summit 4X4. On July 17 was driving at 55 miles an hour, in the fast lane, on the 10 fwy (4-lan highway) at 5:00pm rush hour in los angeles, ca. With no warning of any kind, no limp mode, the engine completely shut off. Felt like it ran out of gas but there was shy of 1/4 tank left or 88 miles to empty. Car had to be towed to dealer. Dealer fount faulty fuel pump and replaced the fuel pump. I managed to cross 4 lanes of traffic without incident but this was pure luck. Please address.

The vehicle was at a full stop in a line of cars to pick up children for school. Let off brake to "inch" forward, and the car suddenly fully accelerated. Brake did not override the acceleration. The car in front was hit causing major damage to both vehicles. It continued to accelerate around that vehicle and then jumped a curb before being able to halt the vehicle and kill the engine. Narrowly escaped killing of school children at an elementary school!!! the images attached will show that this was the amount of acceleration that occurred within just a few feet of the vehicle that was in front. It was not human error that led to this crash. Please exercise due diligence in investigating this, so as to prevent future tragedy!..updated 12/11/17 updated 9/28/18

Engine stall while in motion on interstate highway entrance ramp. "service electronic brake system" malfunction message appeared. No prior indication of trouble. Taken to dealer for warranty repair. As of 9/26/16 still awaiting a power control module part (similar to, if not identical to, the tipm-7 part that has caused issues in the past) that is on national backorder, which is the 14th day out of service. In addition to control moducle, electrical relay to fuel pump and the fuel pump itself will require replacement.

Minor leak in evaporative emission system. Dealer diagnosed as leaking fuel filler neck (cap less style) part ordered and has been on national back order with no release date since ordered. Dealer has upgraded order several time and each time part number is superseded but still no release date. Check engine light has been on 3-4 months now due to this. Expressed concern if anything else goes wrong will not be able to tell as check engine light is always on.

About 18 months ago the NHTSA had issued an advisory bulletin suggesting that automakers reduce or eliminate onboard info systems due to distracted drivers, in the meantime more complex systems have been installed by said and with the most recent hacking of the onboard ECM's as well as driving controls, I question will you possibly follow through with a mandate to cease these systems from being installed seeing that hackers through the bluetooth systems also onboard be eliminated to stop possible horrific accidents from happening. I understand that many are now issuing new software updates that are supposed to stop this from happening, however hackers have " backdoor methods " to still be able to access a cars system and with all the cyber crime taking place today, the elimination of these systems would be a sure fire way to stop it. A going back to a more simpler time when these issues didn't exist say pre 2003 standards. As a concerned consumer I am very worried that some very bad things are going to continue to happen and put my family ( as well as others ) at great risk. I would implore you to seriously consider stopping these systems from being installed in any newer cars that are planned for release, you timely decision would be greatly appreciated, thank you for your time

I purchase this vehicle 11/8/2014. Since then here is an ongoing, high pitched noise upon acceleration from zero to any cruising speed. I have taken it to 3 different Jeep dealers for this complaint and others. The service departments say it is due to the 9 speed automatic transmission. One dealer tried to blame it on my plastic sunglasses in the overhead storage compartment. One dealer reported to me that the same noise was heard on 2 brand new vehicles just delivered to them. I also have ongoing electrical issues - steering wheel controls reverse sides left to right, right to left for audio controls, the radio randomly starts switching channels, automatic high beam sensors turns on to enable mode, but in this mode the high beams do not dim. This function worked initially, then it didn't and one dealer said it lost it's program so they reset it. Another dealer said the sensor is not working. I will have it looked at again at my next service appointment. The phone call/phone call cancel buttons also reverse function. The fuel take door randomly pops open. This has happened while driving, while the car is parked at my work or home. I have had this repaired once. It still continues to happen. The Jeep will randomly lurch forward while stopped, brakes engaged and vehicle is running - at a stop light or stop sign.

The check engine light comes on when the fuel gauge drops below 3/4 full and then shuts off when the full gauge reads 1/4 full. The problem is that when the light comes on it disables the remote start function which is sorely missed in new england winters. This have happened at least 10 times this winter if not more and the dealer could not help.
