The support straps for the fuel tank failed suddenly after making a left turn. The fuel tank contacted the road surface for a short time (1 minute) before the vehicle could be stopped. The rear corner of the tank (passenger side) was damaged to the point that fuel leaked from the tank. Both support straps were broken after the incident. The tank was approximately 1/4 full prior to the incident. Both of the support straps failed near the bottom of the fuel tank. The remaining pieces of the support straps were still fastened to the frame and the fasteners were still in place after the incident. Both support straps were severely rusted. Although we are disappointed that this incident happened, we are grateful that no one was hurt. We realize the outcome could have been a lot worse.

**urgent** I am requesting that the recall of Jeep due to gas-tank fires be accelerated. I became aware of the gas-tank fires involving Jeep on 6/17/2012. My only mode of transportation is a 2003 Jeep Liberty and I am fearful of driving the vehicle now. If someone rear ends me, the Jeep may burst into flames. I am filing this complaint against Jeep/Chrysler for allowing myself and a million other drivers to continue driving a vehicle with a dangerous condition when they have known of the issue for the last two (2) years!! I have not personally had an incident but I would like the problem corrected before I am added to the fatality statistics. A recall needs to be done immediately with either correction to the vehicle or vehicle replacement. Jeep/Chrysler owe a responsibility to its consumers to report unsafe/dangerous conditions. Thank you
