I received a recall notice from the NHTSA at the beginning of this year, 2014. The recall number is 13V-252. I contacted the Chrysler dealership that we bought the car at in gresham, Oregon, and they said that they did not have the parts to complete the recall. I gave them my name and number, and asked them to call me when they got the parts in. That was over 6 months ago. I recently called a Chrysler dealership in vancouver, Washington, and was told that they would call me back. That was a week ago. The date of the recall was December 11, 2013. Not sure what else to do, but complete this complaint form.

My complaint is with the Chrysler recall N46/nhsta 13V-252. I received two (2) recalls -one last Dec. 2013 and in August 2014 for the rear structure reinforcement. I called 2jeep/Chrysler dealers and was told that they were only provided 5 trailer hitches and had a waiting list of 55. I was told to call back in mid-September. This recall is a joke. I called Chrysler recall asst. Center and spoke with taylor and was told that the trailer hitches were still being manufactured and that the hitches and subsequent repairs should be done within two (2) years. This is unacceptable. I was told when I got the first recall notice to wait for the second that the parts would be available and they are not. I believe Chrysler is not acting in good faith to its customers and has no intention of replacing the recalled items. I believe that they are just waiting for the Jeep in question to disappear and go to junk yards. They have no intention in fixing the problem. The problem with the rear structure reinforcement is just too expensive for them to fix. I feel right now that the end result of this recall that only 10% of the Jeep in question will actually be repaired. I have never gone through such a long, deceitful recall before. I have zero faith in Chrysler doing the right thing without another governmental court order.

Why hasn't Chrysler complied with safety recall N46 (gas tank leakage)?? I have contacted Chrysler several times and get the response that there is no safety problem with the plastic gas tank. But they will install a tow hitch just to satisfy NHTSA. They said they don't know when the parts will be available either. They said they would let me know later, maybe in August (this year I hope). I just don't understand why it is taking so long. The most important question is; is the vehicle safe in the event of an otherwise survivable rear-end crash?? thanks, [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
