Ok, I was on this site only three weeks ago for the broken window regulator on my driver door and NOW the driver passenger window regular broke yesterday! Augh, I'm calling 1-800-992-1997 (Chrysler) again and they better cover it again.

If anyone has this issue, please call the number above. I was thinking, if anyone keeps paying to replace their window regulators over and over, I think a class action suit should be filed because Jeep knows there is a defect and refuses to do a recall or make a decent regulator. Is anyone else in?

My 2006 Jeep Liberty has had two window regulators replaced while under warranty. Just this week I had to pay to have two new regulators put on the back windows( no longer under warranty). I also had to buy two new windows because they have changed the design. I assume because of the defect. The two new regulators and windows installed cost approx. $1,000. This should be a recall. I am waiting to see if the Jeep Dealer that sold it to me (Barton Jeep in Spokane, WA) will refund me or if Jeep HQ will refund me my money.

This is the third time the window regulator has failed in the same door. The cost is less this time because I decided to get the part and fix it myself. The cost of the part has gone up $40 however. The part was in stock. The parts person said they sale a lot of these because they keep failing and that it should really be recalled.

I guess this is an on-going problem that has to be repaired more than once. They need to correct the issue in the design.

We have had the window regulator replaced on the left passenger window twice. Once in 2009 and again this year. We hardly ever even roll the window down! It is a common problem on the jeeps, the window falls down and won't roll back up.

This model of Jeep has a chronic problem with the windows...I have had every window break and this is now the second time for the back left. Jeep said they would cover this and now it's sitting at the dealership with Jeep not returning their call.

My 2006 Jeep Liberty had the same problem that many others had expressed...the rear left window would not stay rolled up. The same thing had happened to my rear right window a year and a half ago. After reading all the reviews of people who had the same issue, I called 1-800-992-1997 (Chrysler) and they replaced the part for free. I urge you to call if you are having the same issue. Even though Chrysler paid for the repair I am still going to file a complaint with the Department of Transportation. This is my third Jeep and I will continue to be a Jeep customer but would like to raise the awareness of this defect and have them issue a recall for the part. I am thankful that Chrysler paid for the repair but hope they will step up and take care of others who are having the same issue.

This issue is very upsetting to me...everyone always says buy American...and I traded in my VW for the Jeep Liberty! I am the ONLY driver of this car...and I do not have any passengers but myself!

And I go to wind up my rear window and the rear passenger one (behind the driver side) wont go up! I hear a sound like I got hit from behind...but nothing....the next thing I know...the window is stuck inside the door of the car! I mean...what a piece of crap....the dealer says I have to replace the glass, motor and regulator...plus labor its going to cost upwards of $500!!!!!! WHY????????????

I honestly don't even want to DRIVE the thing....

I have no choice right? I have to fix it otherwise its very easy to have my car vandalized....I've called a bunch of junk yards and NOTHING...wow...

I've had my Jeep Liberty for about 3 years now and this is the second time that I have had to replace the regulator on the back driver's side window. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense because I usually drive by myself or have one passenger in the front seat so I don't normally even use this window that has broken. The first time this happened it was covered under warranty but now the warranty has expired and I'm left with the full cost. After finding all of this information on here I'm probably going to call Chrysler and try to get them to reimburse at least part of the amount. I'm hoping not to have to deal with this much more, however based on the rest of the comments here that doesn't seem too likely.

This is just a ridiculous problem!!! We had one break before our move to Massachusetts, and the other side just broke recently. The crappy pieces that they use to make things is simply a lack of wanting to pay a little more to make a better product. They pay $10 for the piece and we have to pay $200!!! When we first got the jeep the back 2 windows broke, and now my front two windows are broken. I am no longer on warranty and do not have the extra cash to pay to have them fixed now. Looking online for a better price is like finding a needle in a hay stack!! We know someone that can put the piece in for us, but its finding the piece to put it in. So if anyone has any suggestions, please email me at scottandbecca@aol.com I love my Jeep, but this is a problem I don't thing should be happening for such a newer car. I think Chrysler should get off their butts and give us a recall and make a lot of Jeep owners happy again. Pay a little more for a piece tha'ts gonna last instead of giving millions to their executives for a gold plated toilet seat!!

I was at the dealer on 3/31/10 getting my drivers rear window regulator replaced. On 4/5/10 I went out to my car to go to an appointment and the passenger side window had fallen into the door. I had called Chrysler who paid to get the regulator fixed on 3/31 and they asked me if the issue had been diagnosed yet. I told them I didn't need to have it diagnosed because it's the same problem again and again. She told me I would have to take it to the dealer to get it diagnosed. They won't pay for the diagnosis but they would pay for the regulator to be replaced. I have had it with Chrysler. I will not be buying another. I do not have the time to take my car to the dealer as often as the regulators break. It is horrible customer service and business practices to not fix a problem as serious as this. It's only a matter of time before someone or someone's pet is going to be seriously injured because of this issue. I asked today when I was on the phone with Chrysler if they would be issuing a recall any time soon. She stated that it was under review but the Liberty owners would be notified before customer service would be. I have started filing a complaint with the Dept of Transportation every time this has happened. http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov. Has anyone out there consulted a lawyer for this problem?

After reading all the complaints and researching the window regulator issue, I followed the advice and called directly to the Chrysler Group Customer Service (1-800-992-1997 and press 0). I talked to a rep and told her the issue... I'm the second owner and the carfax showed this issue happened two times before and this was my 2nd time for the issue. She told me that a case manager will call me tomorrow and most likely they will fix it for free. If the case manager says they won't, well, lets just say I'm not going to be a happy customer!

This is the 5th time that my windows have malfunctioned.. Today it was the rear driver side for the 3rd time... The passenger side has malfunctioned 2 times.... I took it in to the dealership for service, and was told it would be $115.00 just to be checked. I advised them this wasn't the first time.. I had last paid $118.00 to get the window fixed because my warranty had expired. I finally wizened up and called Jeep Company itself. The dealership called and said they were only going to charge me a $50.00 deductible.. I still thought that was ridiculous... So I spoke with someone at Jeep and they said they would take care of it for me... Let's see what happens.. He also said I might be able to get reimbursed for the money I have already paid in the past.

This is the 6th time I have had to have a window fixed in my car for this problem. When I called to make an appointment they told me the repair would not be covered. I explained to them that this definately was not the first time this had happened and frankly I was getting sick of it. They told me to call the service manager today but I am going straight to jeep. This is rediculous. We will see what happen when I make that phone call but I am not expecting to much help from them. So much for the grand cherokee my husband and I were going to buy.

This is the FIFTH time this has occurred in four years. I have researched this and find there are thousands of consumers with this issue with Jeep Liberty. I have filed a complaint with http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov I urge each of you with a Jeep Liberty to do the same. I want to FLOOD the system with Liberty Complaints. After I fought with Chrysler Jeep finally they replaced the window and regulator (after three days) with only a fifty dollar cost to me. I have seen posts where people are just making the repairs themselves or paying for the repairs on their own. I have a Liberty that is out of warranty and has 60k miles on it. You must demand that Chrysler pays for the repair or they will never issue a recall. We pay far too much (making them rich) for us to have to deal with their poor quality products, poor customer service and their diligent lack of integrity of their product and service.

Around May 2008 I had one of my windows fixed due to the stupid regulators breaking, about 2 months before they had replaced all 4 of them saying they were shot and one time before that I had the passenger window fixed. Luckily, this was all covered on the standard warranty. I HATE HATE HATE this vehicle. People you need to realize they were built like a crap box. I had 4-5 confirmed leaks in this piece, firewall seam, side body seal, a twist in the bond behind my seat, etc. There was literally salty scummy road water coming in from the floor. I called Chrysler multiple times about it ever since 3K. Did they care? They don't give a rip about anyone and that is exactly why I will NEVER buy another. Next time I will hit Mazda, Honda or Hyundai. I waited years for a nice new vehicle and this is what I got stuck with. Now I just NEVER roll the windows down. Isn't it great? As soon as possible I am getting rid of this NIGHTMARE!!!!! Recall you say? That would cost them money, money they will never hand out to their customers. They already have the sale, why would they care now?

We have replaced the mechanism in the drivers window three times, it is now broken again. The front passenger once, the rear passenger once, it is now broken again and the rear driver window once. This is ridiculous as Jeep has know about this problem and fixed it in the newer models. It is just wrong that they do not replace this mechanism for free and correctly. This is the most frustrating things we have ever dealt with in an automobile. I was a Jeep lover, no longer, goodbye Jeep.
