Rear driver side electric window failed twice under warranty and now the same one has failed again. We have it duct-taped up. Thankfully none of the other windows have given us problems, but this is obviously a defect that Jeep should repair free of charge.

We love Jeep, this is our second Liberty and we are looking at buying an Unlimited now, but I would prefer it had roll up windows because the electric ones aren't worth a damn.

I love this car but the windows/regulators are junk. Since I've owned this vehicle I have had the window regulators replaced over 8x (all windows at least once) and I never roll the windows down, I'm just too petrified they will break. Nothing like pulling up to a drive through and opening your car door. The best part is that when they fail the window usually falls into the door leaving your vehicle at risk for theft. I've had the windows replaced when the vehicle was under warranty over 4 times and the rest when the vehicle was out. What a nightmare.

I have had my window regulators break 8 TIMES IN THE PAST 3 YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Having to bring the car in, get the windows fixed (each window has been broken twice, how symmetric right?) and pay for the parts is UNACCEPTABLE. I bought a car, not 8 different windows. I would have NEVER bought this car if I knew this was a potential problem and I am determined to have this model's window regulators recalled. No car buyer/owners should have to go through this added aggravation.

Grinding noise heard when I tried to put the rear driver side door down. Window eventually worked it's way down into the door. Local mechanic wants to chage me $370.00 to fix. Parts and labor. This is obviously a known issue, considering on the complaints on the internet.

really fed up with this problem, every window has fallen in at least once, some twice, and just recently the 2 rear windows going on their third time, this is utterly ridiculous,I can't believe Chrysler expects for me to pay this! There has to be something for all who have had this ongoing problem, maybe some kind of law suit,if they refuse to do a recall.

Isn't there a lemon law for things like this, I can't believe that this wouldn't fall into the lemon law category. I tried to pawn off this car and use it as a trade in for another car, but the dealer wanted me to put an extra $2000 for my down payment because he said it was going to cost them quite a bit to fix the windows and since Chrysler filed bankruptcy and the 2006 Jeep Liberty had a bad rap for the window issue it was hard for them to get them off the lot. But i will say this, I have 3 kids sitting in the backseat of the

car and if by some chance something hits them in the face and they sustain an injury, I will sue them!!!! This is such BS, I can't believe there isn't something we all could do to get Chrysler to fix this problem.

I know that this is a big problem on this jeep liberty but I want say something to the people that does not want buy a jeep again because they have problems with the window regulators, I'm in the automotive business for more than 10 years and jeep made one of the best vehicles in the market, the only problem are the window regulators and the gas, they don't do to much per gallon but the engine and all mechanical components are very good, one of the best 4x4 so don't trade your jeep for another vehicle that may not have window problems but can have engine or transmission problems that will cost you more than fix a window, I have the solution for this liberty window regulators problems, I was working in a jeep dealer for a long time and there I learn how to repair this units and with my repair it will not going to fail again, I sell this regulators on ebay and I offer lifetime warranty, ebay id is gato500, or can e-mail me direct to alex500@bellsouth.net

It wouldn't be a problem to have faulty window regulators if you lived in a place that never rained, or never got windy or dusty...but I don't live in paradise. When the window fell it fell completely inside the rear passenger door so there was no hope of me being able to have someone help me pull it up and hold it into place to be able to tape it up temporarily (this happened on a Sunday when no mechanics or dealerships are open in my area!) To make matters worse I don't have an alternate vehicle to drive and have 2 small children in car seats/booster seats that obviously riding with the window ALL the way down is a SEVERE SAFETY ISSUE! To make matters worse the Jeep is not under warranty. Money out of pocket , again. Luckily this time is not as expensive as replacing the front window (see separate gripe!) This makes the 3rd window on this vehicle and that tells me something is seriously not right and it should be totally RECALLED! The first window regulator went when it was under warranty and I was assured that it was just a glitch and that the other windows should be fine!

Otherwise that vehicle has always been reliable and has gotten me to where I needed to go. (knock on wood)

Horrified at the fact that this was a problem I had had while the vehicle was under warranty...to have to replace a window regulator along with the glass for the driver side window! Talk about not only a major inconvenience, but SAFETY! If the wind blew up dirt or anything there was no way to close the window to ensure it wouldn't blow in your face and get in your eyes! And you couldn't really cover it with plastic because it distorts your view! And it happened on Saturday afternoon when of course the dealerships and mechanics are not available to even give you a quote and get the parts needed! Truly expensive at more than $500! There needs to be a recall on these window regulators! 3out of 4 is not a good ratio of defects!

I will NEVER buy another Jeep ever again. I bought a brand new 2006 Jeep Liberty Limited in late 2006 and almost immediately started having problems. I have now had three of my 4 windows replaced, one of them replaced twice. Only two were done while it was under warranty so the others came out of my pocket. And to make matters worse, one of them broke (started sliding down while I was driving) during a rain storm. Not fun. AND, from what the various repair shops have told me, the part that craps out can't be installed individually. It is part of a very expensive kit, so the repair shop gets to put in a $300+ part instead of a $50 part to fix the damn thing! The windows aren't the only problems I've had with this piece of crap car, but those are topics for another posting. DO NOT BUY A JEEP!!!!

The driver passenger side window fell in July 08. It was still under warranty, because of the website information I read that this is a standard problem, I asked if all the window regulators should be replaced, while it was under warranty. I was told not to worry. Today, the driver side window fell. I called the dealer and it's not under warranty, so the cost is $415, because now the glass must be replaced. In these challenging times, it seems appalling that chrysler is not doing more to recall this and fix the standard problem, and keep goodwill with the customers it does have.

The first time my rear window on the drivers side fell down. I took it into a Jeep dealership and it was under warranty and it was suppose to be fixed. This time I was driving down the road heard an awful noise didn't know what it was but it was the window falling down a second time. I am told there is a long wait for the part and that it could take months to get it fixed. I still hope Ihave the car by then and it hasn't gotten stolen since I live in PHX, AZ the all time car theft city in the US.

I am so tired of this window issue. I have 3 windows that are out because of this regulator problem! I have contacted Chrysler, and they want me to bring the truck to a five star dealer, to investigate.....what to show my bad rolling up and down of my electric windows? I have sent them numerous emails and I am going to keep on sending more and more until they fix my issue for free. I am due for a safety inspection in December and my car WILL fail because of their defects. Keep on emailing and I will keep everyone up to date on what I can accomplish.

What a joke that the Dealers are not covering this as a recall. Just search the WEB and there are thousands of complaints! What sucks is that the dealer wants you to pay for a new regulator ($165.00) and a new window ($135.00) because they changed the design of how the window connects to the regulator. Even worse, it not in stock and has a huge back order. Well maybe that was a blessing in disguise. I left the dealer without ordering the replacement and decided to search the Internet and on eBay I found a solution. I found a guy who rebuilds these regulators. It looks like he repairs the area where it breaks. Since we all hear the motor running just no action I think it is ridiculous to pay $300+ to replace the regulator and window for just a nylon piece that breaks. Anyway the guy on eBay is Gato500 and it looks like he has done hundreds of these for Jeep owners. I guess he'll be my new best friend as long as I own my Jeep Liberty.

Well, normally I'm cool as a cucumber about things, but this time I had to say something. I purchased my 2006 Jeep Lib in May 2009 from Enterprise.com. Not 3 weeks after I got the car, the passenger window fell. Of course I didn't not get the extended warranty so I was stuck with it. 4 months later the rear regulator went out. I am in the process of replacing them both and after seeing this website, I am NOT looking forward to seeing the bill! NO WONDER they went bankrupt!

I am so sick and tired of repairing windows!!!! This will make the 5th window that needs repair!!!! WHAT GIANT PIECE OF GARBAGE THIS THING IS!!!! I have called Chrysler Corp to see if anything can be done...well...first take it in for a diagnostic...ARE YOU KIDDING ME????? I get to pay for that, then they MAY be able to help with the repairs THIS TIME. I pointed out that I was aware that there was a complete change in the design of the regulator, and in fact they were using the new design to repair these windows. Kind of an admission of crap parts don't you think??? I HATE CHRYSLER CORP.!!!!!!!!!!!

Both passenger side front and rear windows stopped working. You could hear the grinding noise when you tried to pu the windows up, but nothing would happen. Dealership in Shelby N.C. was at best rude. This makes 3 windows repaired in less than a year.
