Well it was 5 am and i just got off of work to first find I had a crack in my windshield of signifigant size, a friend of mine goes to put the rear drivers window down for it just to make a loud noise and stop working. Over the next few days it would slide down and I left it alone. Finally it slid down so far I had to pull it up just for it to fall all the way in my door the next day. I took it to my mechanic and have to pay $240 to fix it. I tried having the dealer fix it and they wont because it was manufactured before the recall date. What am I supposed to do I have two children and can hardly afford to put food on the table. Now I cant even take them anywhere because its to cold and the wind is to much. Ive spent $630 in a week just on broken glass. I love my jeep but iI cant afford to keep doing this. Only had it 3 months and already thinking of trading it. Ive owned a 1998 Jeep Cherokee and never had this problem.

All four of my window regulators broke in less than a year after having it. Ford charged me 500 to get new window with regulator they said i needed. When the 3 other windows quit working next after a few months I had the other two repaired at a shop and they didn't have to give a new window with it. They charged $300 for each. I still have the last back window behind driver side to fix!! Plus the dealer had only one key to give me because he said the other one was lost and I find out I have to pay $250 to get a new one! Now I'm seeing recall on suspension front and I have not received any notice of this. I found it online!! I feel I have been ripped off!! Didn't know there were problems with regulators for windows and now recall!!

Why isn't this a recall issue? Driving from PA TO TX, the window just fell down with our dog in the car. We had to wait to get to a rest stop. Lucky for me, we had a ratchet strap in the car and my husband rigged it to stay up. This happened now to BOTH my back windows. This is DEFINITELY a safety issue.

I took my son and the neighbor kids to the bus stop and they could not get out of the car. I notice that the window was slightly down on the rear passenger side, so I tried to roll it up and heard a bad noise. I got out of the car to open the door to let the kids out and the door would not open. I tried several times and it was stuck and my window slipped down. I could move it freely with my hands. When I got to work, I tried and tried to get the door opened and it wouldn't budge. I called my husband and he sent my brother-in-law to my work and he took the panel off and after working for 2 hrs, he finally got the door opened. There was a iron rod that was stuck in the door release. My window had to be taped up so it wouldn't continue falling down.

This could have been a dangerous situation with the kids. I want Chrysler to fix this at their cost, not mine. It is their faulty equipment that has caused this issue.

STEPHEN ETICK 24451 CALLE LAS PALMAS Cathedral city, CA 92234 760 324 4011

I have been reading a few of the thousands of complaints regarding my 2006 Jeep liberty perched in 2007,

I have read many articles stating the average cost for fixing the DESIGN FLAWED AND MANUFACTURED DEFECTED PARTS. The approximate cost of each repair is approx. $380.00 + rent a car 2 or 3 trips to the Dealership I am on my 5th window repair in 4 months plus 11 or 12 more replacements in the past since 2007 all documented. Chrysler offered me ($2000.00 to fix their problem, at this rate the 2 thousand dollars would fix maybe 5 months of repairs. Not acceptable.

This problem started since the Jeep was purchased well documented not only by me but by thousands on the internet plus hundreds of class action law suits.

I would be happy if Chrysler would do the right thing and replace all my windows with improved aftermarket parts that work with a warranty for a reasonable amount of time and be HEAVILY compensated for the many visits to the dealership 2 or 3 times for each repair, rent a cars and many hours of inconvenience due to the dealers continually repairing my Jeep knowing they are using DEFECTIVE AND DESIGN FLAWED MANUFACTURED PARTS.

USING THE SAME DEFECTIVE PARTS IS NOT GOING TO FIX THE PROBLEM.

There is another Design flaw in the windows, when the windows are down, the thumping and wind noise is unbearable, I was told by Andrew Cushion at Crystal Chrysler that there is nothing wrong with your Jeep that is just the way it is. This is inappropriate, why does Chrysler think its ok to sell Cars with design flaws and manufactured OEM parts from your vendor Dormen? Perhaps I need to take action against Dorman and Chrysler for not taking of their responsibilities.

IT IS A DESIGN FLAW ISSUE and should be taken care of by Chrysler and or Dorman.

( ANY ONE WANT TO JOIN A LAWSUIT ( NOT CLASS ACTION)

That’s not what I paid for; I am not getting what I am paying for. I will proceed with a Lawsuit if this problem isn’t solved end of the year.

Thank you, Steve Etick

window stopped working. luckily no breakage. checked the internet. good people had already posted how to fix/check the regulator. seems easy enough. will be calling tomorrow to see if my local dealership are dicks or not about honoring the extended warranty as my 2006 may fall under the march cut off. and if not, i guess try to find the part. all in all a DIY job, which with the help of the video certainly won't take more than an hour to replace.

this is the third part to fail since i bought my "used jeep". thought the low mileage might be an indicator of many years of no problems, but turns out some jeep components simply disintegrate with time. well done jeep. i like the car, but your engineering philosophy seems to be based on german WWII tank design. "make things super complicated so they break down ALL the time". sheesh.

I replaced the window regulators in all four windows of our Jeep Libery 1 time each and it was covered under the manufacturer warranty, then about a year later, I had to replace all four of them again. This time It was covered under the extended warranty and I had to pay a $100.00 deductible. Now last week (7/3/12), I had to replace one again and paid another $100.00 deductible. Guess what, today 7/11/12, yep, another one went and it is in the repair shop as I type this and I will get stuck paying the deductible again! This is unbelievable. The manufacturer should see there is clearly a defect in the regulators used for the Jeep models and place a recall, and refund our money if we had to pay out of pocket. WAKE UP!

This is the second time that the back window on the driver's side stopped working. The firs time was within the 1st year that I purchased this brand "new" jeep liberty. It was still under warranty and the dealership fixed it. Now 5 years later I am having the same issue,

I also had to have he driver side window and regulator replaced which fell under the "recall"....4 months ago he power sunroof stopped working. I took it to my local jeep dealership and the quoted a charge of $1200 to fix the sunroof. I told them they were crazy and that I would NEVER by another Jeep again. The sunroof is still broken.

Now here I am again with the rear power window on the driver's side not working. Not sure if the Jeep autos are built with poor parts or just a piece of junk! I vote for both!!

Today I replaced the 5th window regulator in my 2006 Liberty. The windows started falling down in 2010, and each time one broke, I paid to have it fixed.( I swear it was raining on each occasion )- I needed my car and had no choice! When I inquired about other Liberty owners having the same problem, the dealer was very evasive.

Funny thing is, they haven't made any improvements to the regulator!!!

Love my Liberty (I've owned 2) and only have 72,000 miles on it, but I really resent having to pay out of pocket for new parts that I know could fail again!

:::pulling out long blonde hair by handfuls::: Arghh!!! I've just hung up on my 3rd customer service agent or manager or whatever they call themselves, and I'm entirely incredulous! (For you lurking Chrysler/Jeep agents, that means I won't believe what just happened!) a) They refuse to allow me to escalate my case to a supervisor because they are completely rude, obnoxious and nonsensical, not to mention contradictory. b) They will not afford me the same complete "courtesy" repair they offer others for my first-time-broken rear driver side window regulator because I got my oil changed somewhere other than Chrysler which they say makes me not a loyal Chrysler customer. (Wha???) c) They insist my 2006 Jeep Liberty which I purchased for cash in 2010 from a Jeep dealership having gone through all its service checks, bells, and whistles, hasn't been serviced since 2007. d) They refuse to accept my offer to fax them my service records and my clean Carfax report showing my two oil changes and my tire rotation, or my receipts or window sticker. e) They refuse to speak with my service advisor at my local dealership who would be happy to inform them of the bristol condition of my Liberty (they said since they had no service records, they had no idea what condition my Jeep was in, so I might not be a loyal Chrysler customer). and finally, f) This last guy asked me if I had ever owned a Chrysler prior to this one. I told him I didn't own a Chrysler, I owned a Jeep. He said no, I owned a Chrysler (so you get what I was dealing with...) I said, OK, I'll play. I don't remember. He said, "Exactly." To which I replied, "You ought to be ashamed of yourselves! You know the parts are bad and you know it's not the customer's fault they repeatedly break. And when they do, you come up with convoluted hoops for them to jump through to try to get out of taking responsibility for it! Shame on you!" And I hung up on him. Guess I won't be getting a supervisor... But I will hold out for one; I won't back down! An aside, during all this back and forth - and by the way, they did offer to pay $250 of the $400 repair, it just isn't acceptable, they should pay for it all because they do it for others, I received a notice of a recall for the rear suspension control arms. Sigh... Have only one vehicle and live alone. Must wait until the window is resolved so both can be handled at once. :::crossing fingers the control arms hold out until then::: Come on, Chrysler, do the right thing and stop with the flimsy BS excuses already!!!

The right rear window regulator failed while I was at work. I read the horror stories online and was afraid, but I wanted to give Jeep the benefit of the doubt. So, I called Chrysler to ask about the warranty or any recalls.

The guy who ultimately told me to pound sand was very flippant in refusing to do anything to help. He must be jaded from all of the people who have called for help.

Before I spoke to the jerky csr, I had spoken to a moderately tactful csr. She informed me that the right rear window regulator had already been replaced twice before. Furthermore the most recent replacement had occurred 18 months prior putting the part out of its one year warranty.

I find it incomprehensible that this hasn't become a recall yet.

Liberty Limited 3.7L V6

We bought our 2006 Jeep Liberty (new) in August 2006. By November 2007, the left rear window regulator failed and our dealer made the repair - no cost to us as the parts and labor were covered by the original warranty. It is now 2012 and we have had to replace all four window regulators. The first replacements were relatively simple in that we were at home or close to home and the dealer had the part needed for the repair. However, the last regulator to fail (the driver side/front window - 2nd time to fail) was a MAJOR inconvenience in that we were on a vacation, several hundred miles from home and the two dealers we called said the part we needed was on back order - no kidding, not a mystery why! And, we were told by these dealers that IF they could do the repair, it would cost us several hundred dollars. The most effective help we received was from a small auto repair shop! This mechanic was able to pull the window up and he created a couple of wedges from cardboard and electrical tape. The window stayed up until we could return to our local dealer who informed us that this repair would be FREE due to the fact that Jeep had issued an extended warranty to cover the cost of the part and labor - whew! However, we ran across a letter that Chrysler had sent us dated December 2010 stating that we had been issued a "7 year warranty for Window Lift Plate repairs." So, does that mean if we keep our Jeep beyond that period that we have to pay the cost of those future repairs? So here is the latest chapter in our ongoing saga of "FAILED WINDOW REGULATORS" - the left rear window regulator has failed for the second time. We now know that the extended warranty will pay for the repair - this time. But, if Chrysler has not made any improvements in the part - we know this will be a recurring problem that might occur AFTER the extended warranty period and who knows what major inconvenience might be created by this failure! In spite of this issue - we do like our Jeep Liberty but always have our trusty (but crudely made) wedges to prop a window up if it starts to show signs that the regulator is failing. Fortunately, the last window regulator issue only dropped the window a few inches and we were able to pull the window up and put the wedges in place until it can be fixed.

Rear driver side window regulator broke and window keeps falling down. Did the white trash solution, taping the window closed with duct tape. Have extended warranty through GE, but rep told me it would cover the regulator but not new glass, which would be necessary to replace because old glass would not "fit" with new mechanism. Having no money to spend on this repair, I've lived with it. Finally did web research and discovered how common this problem is. Can't believe there has been no recall. Will get legal assistance if Chrysler does not step up and take care of this. Needless to say, will never buy a Jeep (or other Chrysler vehicle, for that matter) again.
