Have a 2009 Jeep Patriot that has been nothing but problems. Now the latest, is a rusted out sub frame. Besides this type of repair being far too premature, the vehicle is barely worth the cost of the repair. I'm not sure if I sink another $1000 into it and hope for another year, or do I go into debt just to get away from the vehicle???? I will never buy Chrysler again.

Bought Jeep early in 2015, in prepping it for winter discovered that the subframe, engine cradle, is in terrible shape. The surrounding metals look ok, so the material constructing the subframe is faulty. Could not afford a new part so looking for a cheap replacement. Now it's 4/16 and the control arm popped from subframe, highly dangerous. Glad we were driving slow.

A 6 year old car should not have a major component like a subframe rust apart even here in NY. I see a tsb bulletin for the 2007 Patriot for this very problem, W-B-D-14-07, which covers this for ten years, yet a 2009 is not fixed or covered. WHY NOT? I should have reported this the moment it was spotted. Now I have no choice but to bring it to a shop and pay thousands for a part and labor that should have lasted the lifetime of the auto. Bad on Jeep for not fixing this known dangerous problem, let alone not helping those with it. I have pics if this complaint can go farther. Thanks for listening.
