I bought it new. I park in the garage. My car is in never in bad weather. I experience the water coming in through the light in the car. I was just told it was the sunroof that was not all the way closed. I never drive in the rain or snow. I was caught recently in a rain storm. Water was pouring through my light. My dashboard lights and radio went out. I knew that this was a problem. I took it to the dealership and they said it was a manufacturer problem. They said the seal around the sunroof was defective. They told me to call Chrysler and put in a claim. Chrysler gave me the run around for a week. In the end they said they can't help because of my mileage. I drive a long way to work back and forth. That had nothing to do with the fact they made errors when building the car. I was told they would do nothing . Jeff Wyler Jeep said they should be responsible because it was a manufacture defect. Please help me with this problem. What can I do

So, I'm kind of guesstimating on the dates and mileage, but this all happened around these time periods....this third time when I took it in to the dealership to get the stereo replaced I told them that this needed to get fixed or it was just gonna fry the stereo again and that it is a dangerous distraction while I am driving! They kept it and said that they ran water over it for an hour and no leak and once again NO FIX!! I think they lied about this!!!

Every significant wet weather causes the sun roof to leak and fill up the map lights in the front of the vehicle. This water then proceeds to pour out of the lights as the car accelerates/decelerates or turns corners. This water happens to be pouring out directly onto the electrical components of the vehicle right where the CD player slot is. A quick Google search for leaky sun roof and you will find that this problem has been plaguing the Jeep Patriot line for years. Shame on you Jeep for not addressing this issue which has been on going for years!

Bought a new car 6 months ago and went through car washes and washed by hand, no leaks. Now it's covered in snow and the roof liner is filling with water. The water dumps in my lap and all over dash when turning or accelerating.

Of course the dealer does not provide a loner, not a good thing.

sunroof leaks into dome lights on dash and middle light

Had the car less than 60 days. No rain, no leaks. Plastic roof prevents leaks from being seen. Took it in right at 30 days and was told a drain tube was kinked from factory. Now it is back in since problem wasn't fixed. More water in my car. Super high humidity means there is more water somewhere than I see. I now have to have faith that the dealership will look for any electrical damage from the water. Yeah right.
