Purchased a 2019 Jeep Wrangler jl on 01/03/2020. Hit a bump as I pulled out of the dealership and the front wheel began to "wobble" along with the steering wheel. It stopped when the vehicle stopped. Two days later travelling at about 40 mph, hit a small pothole in the road and it did it again. I checked the track arm, which may cause this issue but it appears the weld is good and the bolts are tight. Happened again yesterday as the wife was driving. She drove over a bridge and as she crossed onto it over the joint, it began again. Stopped as she slowed down. Searched for similar complaints and there are many similar complaints. It may have something to do with the steering box, which Jeep knows about but won't replace without a hassle. No damage or injuries (yet).

Bought this car without driving, was sent from another dealer. The car I did test drive seemed to wander a bit when driving. Reported this to salesperson. He responded yes they drive differently. I said I guess it just takes some getting used to. Picked up my car a week later. All over the road, scared to death to drive. It wanders so badly on the highway I cannot control it. I have parked it in my garage with 175 miles on it after owning for 10 days. Drove to work 2 times and back. Told the dealership about issue, was told that is ridiculous, that they told me it drives "differently" and that I knew that. I told them I expected a different ride, but not a ride where I feel I am going to lose control of the car and die! they also told me they have heard of no issues with the steering on these cars, when I am finding it everywhere I look! they are not willing to help, saying I can only trade it in for something different they sell. I paid $40,000 cash. This is not buyers remorse, it is a definite safety issue and I am not going to drive it. I have a 2019 Porsche macan but was looking for something with a little more traction for winter. The traction is fine on the 2019 Jeep, but I cannot drive it as I feel so unsafe. Nor do I want to trade it in and have someone else buy it and get hurt in

Experiencing intermittent loss of steering assist at speeds between 40 and 75 mph. When issue occurs, vehicle can still be steered but with great effort. The issue lasts up to several minutes then spontaneously resolves. Typically happens when driving straight but lasts into turns. Dealer is closed now but will be scheduling service Monday, 1/6/20.

During highway driving my Jeep Wrangler drifts slowly back and forth. I have noticed this since the first time driving on interstate highway. I have complained at dealer in paducah, Kentucky and was told it's normal. I also have had electrical issues where the air conditioner quit working. After 3 attempts to fix, the dealer service man found a short in a junction under the hood. After that was prepared, the radio, info. Screen went blank. It came back on. A seat back release had to be replaced too. All of this and less than 4000 miles on odometer.

  • 5,500 miles
While driving at speeds above 20 mph on the highway the car goes into a death wobble where it feels like the car is going to fall apart. The car shakes and the steering ability becomes unstable. The steering wheel shakes with the car and we need to get to the shoulder and stop. It happens randomly and at variable speeds. The dealer tries to appease us with fixes that do nothing to correct the problem. They claim that it is not dangerous and does not do anything to the effectiveness of the car. The car was purchased new a few months ago and it has been brought to the dealer three times for this issue without any fix (most recently December 24, 2019) where they changed out a steering damper based upon a recall. This did not correct the problem.following that we were driving the car on vacation through the desert and the car went into a death wobble 10 times while on the highway. Upon returning home we contacted the dealer and informed them of these multiple episodes. The vehicle is going back in on January 6, 2020. At this point the car is unsafe to drive. We were not informed prior to our purchase about this dangerous issue with the Wrangler.

My power steering has completely locked up multiple times while driving on freeways, highways, and residential streets. This issue has occurred in all types of weather, including rainy days and dry days, so that doesn't seem to have any sort of impact on the issue. When the power steering locks up the vehicle throws around 50 codes, which the dealership has reset more than once. Each time the steering locks up I have to slam on my breaks and turn my car on and off multiple times until the steering starts working again. I have taken my Jeep to the dealership twice - on 11/30/2019 and today (12/29/2019) - and have called many, many times trying to get this issue resolved. No one seems to care or know how to solve the problem. I picked my Jeep up from the dealership for the second time earlier today, and my steering completely locked up again after driving it 20 miles. This time not only did the steering completely lock up, but the breaks were malfunctioning as well. Each time I take my Jeep to the dealership they claim that the issue is related to the sway bar disconnect, which makes no sense. Based on my research there and many, many stock 2019 Wrangler that are having the exact same issue. If this issue isn't taken care of with a sense of urgency, someone is going to end up losing their life. I am tired of going to the dealership and being pushed out the door each time being told that the issue is fixed when it clearly isn't. what is it going to take for this issue to get resolved?

Steering drifts all over the lanes. Must constantly correct steering to keep it centered in the roadway. This thing will wear you out after a relatively short drive. When you are being passed, attention must be paid to the steering to keep you from drifting into the passing vehicle. With no input from the driver, the vehicle will drift to the right or left on it's own. This is the worst driving vehicle I have ever owned.

Since taking posession of the Jeep I have experienced major steering wandering. I have almost gotten in an accident twice as a result on a major highway. The truck has been to the dealership several times but all they do is tell me there is nothing wrong. I have spoken to many other Jeep owners who are experiencing the same issues. I am fearful for my families safety at this point. Actual issue details: The steering will turn right or left unexpectedly. There is easily 2 inches of play in the steering as it is so when the truck wanders it is very difficult to keep it straight. This issues is most apparent on the highway but you can feel it as you drive around town.

The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Wrangler. While driving approximately 45 mph, the steering became very wobbly. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced steering issues ever since it was purchased. The vehicle was taken to dick myers Chrysler Jeep (1711 S main St, harrisonburg, va 22801) four times but they were not able to correct the failure. The dealer stated in writing that the manufacturer knew about the failure and was working on a remedy. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and sent a field mechanic investigator who determined that there was no failure with the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 6.
