Driving at all speeds vehicle constantly wonders from left to right sometimes when correcting from one direction to the other it will put you in the other lane. Very dangerous when on two lane or uneven road against oncoming traffic. Took back to dealer twice replaced gear box did not help. Bought Jeep for my wife but she won't drive it says it makes her feel unsafe I agree with her you think for 55,000 you could drive your vehicle down the road in a relaxing state.

Wrangler 4-cyl

I purchased my new Jeep Wrangler 2020 unlimited just over a month ago. I have noticed that, when driving at speeds above 40mph, the car is very difficult to handle and the car, as well as the steering wheel, wander all over the place. When driving on a highway, I fear for my life as the car wanders around the lane and much worse if there is a slight wind current that hits. It is very unstable and very unsafe. I have taken this to my Jeep dealer and they insist that it is normal compared to other Wrangler they have tested on their lot. This is a very ignorant response as it does not solve my specific problem. I fear that this will cause a huge accident one day on the roads and believe there is a fix for this problem but the dealer does not wish to fix or repair the issue. I appreciate any help with this.

I am unable to maintain my lane at all while driving this vehicle. It can be concerning to drive like this especially on the interstate. If you get to close to the edge of the road on non interstate roads it will pull you straight off the road.

I've had the vehicle for a little over two weeks and the vehicle wanders dangerously at highway speeds due to the slop in the steering. It also locks when taking a tighter turn from a starting position and I have to force it back to center.

Wrangler 6-cyl

  • 300 miles
The vehicle wanders, including into other lanes, during travel at higher speeds. The steering is extraordinarily loose. The vehicle requires constant Focus and continuous corrections to maintain course. It is dangerous. The dealership representative remarked that it is a known issue but Jeep is unable to effectively address it.

The car will not hold a straight line. It Dodge and dives all over the road. If you are making a sweeping turn over 40 mph in either direction, it suddenly darts in the direction you have the wheel turned with no further input. When you try to correct back it takes a lot of wheel movement and then it suddenly darts in the direction. It just will not drive straight. You are constantly fighting to keep it between the lines. You can not drive this car for more then. An hour or two and you have to stop[ driving. It is unsafe not only to the driver and passengers, but to anybody else on the road. You just do not know what it is going to do. NHTSA needs to force fca to do a recall on this issue and fix it. This issue makes the ralph nader issues with the Chevrolet cover look minor. Please, please look into this before somebody dies.

The contact owns a 2020 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that there was a hesitation between when the steering wheel was turned and the response from the front wheels. The contact stated that the steering wheel was constantly moved from left to right to keep the vehicle in a straight line. The vehicle was taken to bill luke Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram located at (2425 w camelback rd, phoenix, AZ 85015 (602) 249-1234) and test driven. The mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted or notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 200.

When driving at highway speeds, the vehicle drifts all over the road. It is necessary to constantly move the steering wheel left and right just to stay in my lane. Several times, the vehicle has drifted into an adjacent lane before I could make a correction. I took it to the dealer I bought it from, safford Chrysler Jeep of fredericksburg, Virginia and, after 2 1/2 hours in the service department, told me there is no problem. I know that hundreds of Jeep Wrangler jl owners have reported this same problem to NHTSA.

I purchased this new 2020 Jeep in December 2019; the Jeep now has about 800 miles on it. When driving the vehicle at any speed the Jeep will dart to the left into on-comming traffic with no warning and for no appearant reason. The faster the speed the more radical the swerve into traffic the incident. I have not been in accident but had lights flashed, numerous hand signals and horns blown at me in the Jeep for reckless driving. The dealership - cecil Jeep of burnet Texas has verified the problem and is troubleshooting potential issues with a factory engineer. Software and damper upgrades have been confirmed properly done and up to date.

Vehicle is a 2020 Wrangler sahara. There is excessive play in the steering wheel. Sitting still there is about 2'-3' steering wheel movement left & right. At highway speeds there is constant steering wheel response to keep the vehicle in your own lane. Even then its wandering in your lane. I had a 2013 Wrangler sahara and it didn't have this issue. Dealer has seen it and said everything is normal. Actually, said it's comparable to other Wrangler, they didn't say it was normal. I asked them instead of an improvement they made them worse? they had no answer.

I just purchased a 2020 Jeep Wrangler 2 door sport S on 01/30/2020 and 1 week later was taken back to dover Dodge to fix a serious steering problem. The appointment was made for a week later, and the dealer kept the Jeep Wrangler for 1 week. I then pick up the Jeep and was told they change the steering box and problem fixed. The next day I was traveling to work on the highway and I was all over the highway, same problem with steering called them back on 02/22/2020/and they gave me an appointment for today 03/02/2020 I am hoping they actually fix the problem, I feel it is a safety issue and should be addressed by Chrysler Jeep

While driving the steering has a large amount of play, fails to hold a straight line, and requires constant correction. At highway and interstate speeds, it is difficult to keep the vehicle in the desired lane especially around curves and restricted lanes. Steering assist system feels as though it goes in and out daily. In addition, vehicle steering wheel does not return to center when turning and requires driver correction after turning. Dealership has inspected vehicle and noticed some drivability issues. A tsb 19-002-19 was done for a steering damper issue, but additional steering issues were noticed. 'floating on the front end' was reported by test driving tech but after checking alignment claimed everything was in spec. No resolutions offered through dealership or escalation with fca. I worry about the ability of this vehicle to stay on the road under normal driving corrections.

2020 Jeep rubicon unlimited pulls to the right at speeds above 35mph and needs constant correcting to stay straight on a flat paved surface. This is not a road crowning issue, happens on surface streets or highway but most noticeable on highways. You can feel the resistance of the steering wheel that wants to naturally be in a right pulling position. Furthermore, you can see the difference in balance by turning to the left and watching the steering wheel come back to center...turn to the right and it barely moves back to the left...it wants to stay right. Jeep says they have no fix for this problem, yet it has been reported since 2018. Inferior parts and the inability to make adjustments has perpetuated this issue. The NHTSA must force fca to create a permanent fix for this problem. See also 11258580. Consumer stated old aluminum gear box was replaced and PCM software updated. Alignment check will be done following week.

2020 Jeep Wrangler unlimited rubicon. The driver side control arm bracket on my front axle is not welded on one side. The weld missed the bracket all together. There is a recall for some 2020S, but mine is not listed. Jeep told me since mine is not listed, there is nothing they can do. Also even if it was impacted, there is no fix yet. My front axle could come loose at any time due to missing weld causing a loss of control. This is a serious safety concern and they will not do anything about it.
