Car would not charge on a fast charger and died on us while on a trip. We got the car towed to a dealership and two days later was told the car was fixed and ready to go. On the way home, we stopped to charge the car and the car still wouldn-??t connect to charger. The car would connect to our home charger though. I took to the car to the dealership in our town where they had trouble getting it to connect to their fast charger along with the car not communicating to back of car. The car also completely died even with a full battery and had to get it towed to dealership

Battery Management System light came on 1/22, battery wouldn-??t charge past 80% - took into Kia Burlington NJ for service- they diagnosed vehicle and put it on charger and was told issue was resolved. I am noticing that my battery pack is having issues- battery pack is 99kw when it goes down to 10 % in can charge it all the way to 100% but only 50kw is dispensed. Meaning that there is 40kw of battery that is unaccounted for. My max range is extremely limited to 120mi on a full charge. I understand winter can affect range but with the constant charging- i haven-??t been able to dispense the full 90ish kw of charge. Concerned about my safety and a potentially defective battery pack.

The 12-volt battery for the vehicle was depleted, so the vehicle had to be jump-started to run. I work for a repair facility (it was here for collision repairs, as far as I know unrelated to this issue) and since I was unfamiliar with the vehicle, I inadvertently turned it off before shifting into park. When I took my foot off the brake, the vehicle began to roll forward. I am not sure if the vehicle was in park, neutral, or even reverse (the gear I was in when I turned the vehicle off), but whatever gear it was, the vehicle kept rolling after it was turned off. I tried turning the vehicle back on to shift to park, but was unable to do so due to the depleted 12-volt battery. I tried hitting the park button anyway, and this did nothing. I then tried to engage the electronic parking brake, but this was also inoperative due to the lack of power. With each attempt, I tried briefly taking my foot off the brake, but each time it continued to roll forward. I then called my manager and asked him to jump start the vehicle so I could put it in park and engage the parking brake. No damage was done in this incident, nor was anyone hurt, but this lack of fail-safes to prevent the vehicle from moving after a loss of power is a significant design flaw and safety hazard. If I had not noticed the issue in time and gotten out, the vehicle could have rolled away and caused property damage or bodily injury to me or a bystander. To my knowledge, this is the only such incident with this vehicle, and I do not know whether it is specific to this particular vehicle or replicable in others of the same year make and model. There were no warning lights.

My EV9 lunged forward very abruptly when I was parking. I had to slam on the brakes before my vehicle crashed into the building in front of me. My vehicle also lost the signal (blank screen while driving ) the same day my car lunged forward. I could not tell how fast or slow I was going. I pulled over and restarted the vehicle or and my screen came back on. I began driving for maybe 4 minutes and the screen went completely black except for the -??lost signal-?? alert in red. My vehicle has also lost the ability to use adaptive cruise control while driving my vehicle. I pulled over and when I restarted the vehicle i was able to use it again.

Our KIA EV9, which HAS HAD the software update installed to address NHTSA Recall Number 24V757 (Kia safety recall SC326) has again had the driver's instrument panel screen come up blank when the car was started. This is identical to behavior we observed multiple times before taking the car to the dealership for the software update. To resolve the issue, the car was turned off and permitted to sit for an hour before we attempted to start it again and the problem was no longer present.

On November 5th, 2024 I exited a store and my vehicle instrument panel was black when I turned my vehicle on. I turned my vehicle off and on several times trying to get the panel to work. I could also not control the headlights or turn signal with the manual controls either. It was still daylight hours and I was 2 miles from home so I decided to try and see if the vehicle could be driven home. I was able to get the vehicle home but could not get the instrument panel to turn on despite many more times of trying by turning the vehicle off and on. The following morning I contacted the Royal Kia dealership and told them of my issue and they informed me this was a known recall issue that had recently been discovered; they had the vehicle towed to them the same day. They have now had my vehicle for 2 weeks and when I called them before filing this complaint they said they had no idea when they would be able to fix the recall. They also told me they required a special tool to fix the recall and they do not have that tool and have no idea when they will be able to get it. I then called another local Kia dealer and they told me they would also not be able to fix my vehicle in a timely manner and it would be 2 months before they would even be able to diagnose my car. My complaint is that the recall letter claims this is just a software update that could be done without visiting a dealership but both dealerships are telling me that it has to be fixed in person by them.

The contact owns a 2024 Kia EV9. The contact stated while attempting to start the vehicle, the contact became aware that the instrument panel was dark. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the instrument panel had failed, and a system update was needed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V757000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). The approximate failure mileage was 4,612.

I was driving down the highway at approximately 60 mph with approximately 40% charge to the high voltage battery. While moving the car suddenly stopped accelerating and switched to neutral automatically. The instrument panel provided no audible alerts of a problem and in relatively small text stated "check electrical system" The brakes and the rest of the car's electronics worked such as turn signals and warning lights. We were able to coast and pull over to shoulder of highway and stop safely, but losing acceleration in middle of highway suddenly was very scary. Car is currently at dealer awaiting to be diagnosed.

On Oct 11th the vehicle failed to fully charge, stopping at 69%. I heard loud and repeated clicking from the undercarriage. On Oct 12th I received an email / system notification -?? A suspected condition with your BuddyNine-??s Battery Management System has been detected. Charging has been limited. A full system check is recommended. Please schedule an appointment at your Kia dealership as soon as possible.-?? On Oct 12th I received a critical warning in the Kia app: -?? Your EV Battery has a critical issue. Contact Roadside Assistance (844-886-9411) as soon as possible.-?? I took the car into a Kia dealership on Monday Oct 14th and they have had it for 23 straight days. I have received conflicting information about the underlying cause and have not received an estimate for when it will be repaired.

The contact owns a 2024 Kia EV9. The contact stated while driving at highway speeds with the cruise control activated, the instrument panel went blank. The contact stated that when the instrument panel returned to normal operation, the vehicle quickly accelerated without the accelerator pedal being depressed. The contact immediately deactivated the cruise control and the vehicle returned to normal operation. Since the initial instrument panel failure, the failure persisted while driving at various speeds. The contact stated that the instrument panel intermittently flashed on and off and occasionally there were several warning lights illuminated after the instrument panel regained normal function. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was provided a case number. The contact was also informed by the manufacturer that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V757000 (Electrical System) which was linked to the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 500.
