The car drove fine to work in the morning. During lunch break ran an errand, went to start the car and the light lit up, but the engine would not run. Nothing was left on somehow the battery was drained. Roadside Service came and jumped the car, said battery had low charge but I never saw him check it for a low charge. Hhe said nothing was wrong with battery as low mileage. He said to drive it for 20-30 minutes. I did.
Drove it back to work. Turned it off and it would not start again. Also, there is a fob which includes the key, but you can't manually insert the key anywhere and turn the car on. So if the battery on the smart key is dead, does that also impact your ability to turn on the car? Hubby is going to check out the car and maybe run it to the dealership. What a pain.
This is not the first time there has been an issue with this car. The radio was not working almost a year since we leased the Kia, they replaced it because it was under warranty. I doubt the battery or transmission is under warranty. Guess we'll find out.
