While driving 70mph on a highway, my Kia Soul spontaneously burst into flames underneath a stranger stopped with a fire extinguisher luckily. Fire dept says had we not used the extinguisher, my car quite likely would have exploded. Prior to incident, I had no warning lights on, no oil leak, oil needed changing soon but wasn't too low. There was no collision.

While driving in neighborhood came to a stop and when I proceeded to go my car wouldn't move and I was pressing on gas pedal, 5 seconds later my car accelerated really fast and suddenly and I almost rear ended the car in front of me. The delayed shifting has almost caused an accident three times now! I don't feel safe driving my Kia and I just bought this car 2 months ago. Also check engine light comes on and code read is P0420.

While driving this past Friday night, suddenly my car started making a loud internal engine noise. Pulled over immediately and checked oil. Found oil level unexpectedly low since oil was changed just a couple months ago and I check oil level monthly. Added 1 1/2 quarts of oil - clacking improved only slightly. Returned home immediately. Had mechanic check the car first thing Monday morning. Was informed the car needs a new motor. Mechanic said parts are typically guaranteed for 6 months; but because there is little confidence in Kia motors right now, his parts supplier will only guarantee it for 30 days. Mechanic said he has personally worked on Kia from 2010 and 2013 with this very same issue. My 2015 model should also be under this same recall.

Car while be delayed in shifting gears and then all the sudden accelerate too fast and jerks the car, oil keeps running really low after putting oil in but no visible leaks. Engine light continues to come on reading code is P0420 stating problems with catalytic converter. Recalls are in place for this year make and model for catalytic converter but my VIN number isn't showing up even though I'm having the exact problems as described in recall!!

2015 Kia Soul + has just been checked by our dealership service department for not accelerating and shifting properly. Dealer performed transmission service at 106,768 miles on June 30, 2020, and this did not clear the issues, 2nd service inspectrion on July 1, 2020 resulted in service department saying the issues are with a plugged catalytic converter, which has been a potential contributor to the ongoing NHTSA investigation of all Kia Soul models with the 2.0L nu engine. We also noted excessive oil consumption to the service department on multiple occasions, but they have declined starting an oil consumption test. Neither the dealer nor extended warranty company will cover repairs, and allowed us to leave the dealership with the vehicle in potentially unsafe condition, with no remedy other than us paying for parts and labor to replace the catalytic converter. I want to have my complaint added to the ongoing investigation, and can provide and encourage other Kia Soul owners to also add their similar issues, M which are well documented on line in forums and social media.

My car engine light turned on then began to smoke and stall out while on the freeway tt. Then the hood began smoking rapidly and lady calming rushing to me yelling for me to get out the car. I escaped the car left the driver door open, then I noticed I left my wallet and keys in there car. I grabbed my wallet and keys out of the ignition. Then car ignited in flames and all doors and windows locked. This incident occurred on 4/26/20 @ 3pm.

While driving home and at a stop sign my car began to knock something fierce, being a few homes away pulling into driveway. I now hear louder knocking and a new clanking noise (metal in washer sound). Car was towed to mechanic I was told the rod was busted. Needs an engine overhaul. It has 78,000 miles on it and no longer runs. All maintenance was kept up on this car, this was not due to my neglect and the check engine light did not come on. A car I can't afford to fix and still pay for.

The car is not accelerating properly and not changing gears correctly and automatically. The check engine light is on and is running several codes. It may be the catalytic converters. I was driving on the highway and my car started putting and no accelerating past 60mph. It makes this loud clicking noise when I try and go faster and also it sounds really loud like a lawn mower.

P0420 code catalyst system below threshold is part of the recall SC-176. This was in ON5-17-19 for the fix. Seven months later same same code back on 12-30-19. This cause the car to hesitate when moving or stopped.I have been getting 24 mpg instead of 32 mpg. Since the code came back. The car feels like its going to stall when starting from a stop. Dealer states car is out of warranty but this was a recall from 5-17-19.

When driving down the road on a city street going approximately 50 mph, my vehicle began to make knocking noises and the seized after I pulled over to the side of the road. When I got out to check the oil it had all leaked out onto the road causing my oil tank to be dry. The car now will not start and Kia has refused to fix it and says I am out of warranty, because I am not the first owner of the car even though I was offered the warranty when I purchased the car.

My friends 2015 Kia Soul caught fire while driving at highway speeds. We can see where there was a recall for a faulty fuel, I believe. Strangely though her VIN was not included in the recall. The fire started in the engine compartment and she was able to pull off onto the shoulder and get out before the vehicle was completely engulfed in flames. Somebody should be investigating why all of these vehicles are not being recalled.

June 18, 2019-driving on highway, started to pass a slow moving vehicle, pressed accelerator and it would not go faster at first, then it did go a little faster. I moved back into driving lane and proceeded but I slowed down to 55 mph (posted speed limit 70). Kept losing speed, put on emergency flashers, as I was exiting off highway to safe spot smoke started billowing from behind vehicle. Stopped car, as good was opened a small fire turned larger. I grabbed my fire extinguisher from back storage compartment and extinguished fire. Tow truck driver arrived, needing to make sure it could be towed without a possible reignition of fire, he removed the cover and asked me to attempt to put vehicle in neutral to be able to push it back to a position to be able to get it on tow truck. Push button start, two push for accessory position. Tow truck driver witnessed fuel squirting from a fuel line near the fuel regulator. Tow truck driver could actually insert his pen top into the size hole that is there. Vehicle towed to car dealership where we purchase it new. I am still waiting to hear if the dealership was able to get it in the shop this week, if not they said it would be Monday June 24, 2019. Pictures attached. No invoices yet except the tow invoice which I need to submit to my insurance company for reimbursement. In researching any unknown recalls on this vehicle, I found this information today and attached my screenshot.

We just received our Soul back for the latest Kia recall service after being 1 week at the dealership, while driving the car engine shut off in the middle of the traffic almost causing accident and injury. Called dealership rick case Kia (sunrise fl) they asked us to tow the car in for diagnostic. Received a call from dealership stating its a bad battery cell that caused the issue, had to spend $150 to get the battery replaced as per recommendation. After receiving the car back yesterday afternoon, the same thing happened in the night the engine just shut off while driving we had our grand kids in the car going to pickup our daughter from work. This time it was a very close call nearly got hit. Called the dealership there response was get it towed in again and we will take a look. They mentioned the issue is got nothing to do with recent recall, but the issues have started post recall fix. This is a very serious safety concern as I work for Florida department for children and family services and as job requirement have to drive foster kids around, majority highway driving something like this on highway would definitely cause an issue. Car brand new battery is showing as drained again and dealership is just jerking us around instead of taking full responsibility and fixing the car.

Drove up a hill for a delivery. Car stalled half way up the hill. Tried to restart car, when doing so & put the gears into drive the car rolled back some. With this, the engine & battery lights came on. Tried to restart the car three or four more times. On the last attempt, the car started rolling backwards. Put the car in park & turned off the ignition but the car wasn't stopping. In panic mode, didn't try to apply the emergency brakes. Ended up hitting another vehicle with the rear of my vehicle. On top of the damage done to the rear of my vehicle & the other person's, the two passenger tires of my vehicle blew out.

My 2015 Kia Soul is misfiring and the engine light is flashing. I received a recall and took the vehicle to steve napleton Kia of elgin. They supposedly performed an ECU upgrade and sent me on my way. My car didn't hardly make it out of the lot before shaking like crazy and ultimately stalling. I took it back in and they told me it was something I must have done to it because it was fine when I left. They now refuse to fix it unless I pay for it. Literally at a loss for words..

My car is very sluggish when I press the gas pedal it feels like my engine does not want to go, and when I'm idling I feel as if my engine will stall unless I press the gas, I have contacted Kia regarding this problem and the associate I spoke with said that my vehicle has been recalled under the SC176 campaign ( this was in February 2019) it is now April 14th, and according to Kia my car is not officially recalled as of yet.. basically I feel I'm driving around in a ticking time bomb.. and according to the recall I am, the recall is due to a possible engine failure and fire.. my 2015 Kia Soul only has 22,500 miles on it... I feel Kia is ( no pun intended ) stalling regarding this highly dangerous safety recall.
