Lexus has not been able to resolve the issue with my passenger front airbag since may of 2016. I understand to some degree the delay caused by the massive number of issues with the takata corporation's products, however this has prevented the use of my front passenger seat for over 7 months with no end in sight. This seems unacceptable for any manufacturer, particularly one of the stature of Lexus.

"takata recall". on July 10, 2016 I received a recall in the mail from Lexus (torrance, ca) about the takata front passenger airbag inflator. The recall notice goes on to say "until the remedy becomes available, we recommend that you do not operate the vehicle with an occupant in the front passenger seat". I am writing these comments on December 29, 2016. So it's been 5 months since I've received the recall notice. I've been in contact with my local Lexus dealer and well as Lexus in torrance, ca and neither one can give my any time table on when the repairs can be made. My wife refuses to sit in the rear seat of the car because it is not as comfortable as the passenger front seat, nor is the rear seat heated (which is one of the main reasons she likes the car -- she has back pain problems). So what I now have is a car that cost me $41,000 (cash) that I can hardly use. I feel there should be some compensation for this inconvenience, but conversations with the local Lexus dealership as well as Lexus, torrance, ca have been extremely unsuccessful. I should add that over the past few years, I have purchased from Lexus/toyata 5 brand new cars. I did this as a private citizen, not as a business purchase.

Takata recall-Lexus of bakersfield has not been helpful-no idea when they will get their replacements and still insisted that we not have anyone in the passenger seat. They offered a rental car but it wouldn't be a Lexus. This is taking way too long to inconvenience their customers.

Takata recall-cannot get dealer to return calls as to the priority status for the repair for my vehicle. In July 2016, my service rep told me that there was a priority list and he had put my vehicle on it but I still see your site indicates there isn't a resolution for the problem. Lexus continues to produce new safer cars, without repairing older ones which is ridiculous for owners who are riding in time bombs. Today's news reports are stating that those of us with recalls should be able to find out our repair status now so I need help because it is a risk for my passengers and me that should not have been allowed to happen.

Takata recall please see case number 1039859. It was made on November 7, 2016. In it I mentioned receiving a recall notice last summer telling me that repair parts would be available in November. Then I was told January. The latest contact from the manufacturer says "first quarter of 2017". that extends through March. This is stupid. Is there a procedure for having the airbag made inoperable? the car still has seatbelts, after all. I have a useless car. I need some help here. Thank you.

Takata recall I received the airbag safety recall in June 2016, and I have not been able to use the front passenger seat of my car since then. I have not received another update about the remedy for the potentially deadly and exploding airbag in my car, and it has been four months. Local auto dealerships do not know the timeline for replacements, either. This is awful. I need to be able to Transport passengers in my front seat.

The contact owns a 2011 Lexus ES350. The contact stated that the passenger side air bag warning indicator did not register them in the seat. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the air bag sensor needed to be recalibrated. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The contact was informed due to their weight, approximately 90 pounds, the air bag would not register them in the seat. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 47,000.
