The contact owns a 2014 Mazda Cx-5. after switching the shifter to the park position, turning the engine off, and removing the ignition key, the radio would remain activated. Also, an erroneous audible alarm was activated, which warned the contact that the ignition key was not removed from the ignition switch. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the ignition switch was faulty. The vehicle was not repaired. The local dealer (jake sweeney Mazda West in cincinnati, oh) was notified of the failure, but the manufacturer was not. The failure mileage was 53,000.
