Excessive fuel consumption. The people at Mazda blame the Australian government, but it is Mazda's Boucher, Mazda's staff and Mazda's TV advertisement that says. Low fuel consumption. Mazda has falsely advertised. One of the main reasons we purchased this vehicle was the low fuel consumption. That is just not available. When I complain, their staff say that's not bad. So Mazda are aware of the problem.

We were 3 people who bought the Mazda cx5 2.5l 2014 AWD, 2 of us do mostly city driving and we both can't get the car to do under 14l per 100 km. We even did the test that the dealer recommended us to do, fill the gas tank until you hear the first click, drive 50km, go put gas at the same gas station same gas pump and fill it until you hear it click again, look on your bill or on your gas pump how many liters you put in your gas tank and multiply by 2. That is the amount of gas your car consumes per 100 liters. Third person that bought the car does mostly highway and he gets 10.5 per 100 liters.
We are all very disappointed with Mazda which claim to do 6.6liters highway 8.5 liters city for this model Mazda CX5 2.5 AWD 2014. Dealer is always making excuses, very cold weather, winter tires, driving habits, etc. I put back on my summer tires at the dealer with the right tire pressure and it is now +9 outside and my car is consuming 14.2 LITERS and I do between 360 to 390 km on a full gas tank. Mazda already has a class action suit on the Mazda 3 2013 Skyactive engine. Planning on starting one for the Mazda cx 5 2.5 liter with the same lawyer Adams Gareau.

False advertising by Mazda. Mazda state on TV great fuel economy, Mazda state in their Boucher 6.4Litres per 100Km. But unobtainable. Since new I have complained about heavy fuel consumption, Mazda tries to blame everyone except themselves.
