2014 CLA250 with 56,439 miles. Check engine light on 11-28-2018 motor run ran rough and was misfiring.
Took to Dealer to check. They said Cyl #4 had "Leakage of approx 80-85%. Said Burnt valves of cyl #4.
Recommend replacement of Cylinder head and ALL valves. Charged me $971.76 for doing the check.
Asked for cost to fix... $12,282.64 I took to my independent auto guy to check. He did a dry and wet test of each cylinder and found Cyl #4 at 85 psi dry and 130 psi wet. HE SAYS bad oil ring on cyl #4 and cheaper to get a used engine. I did that all for about $6,000.
Now I want MBUSA to look at the old engine for a defect. If I had kept running the car it may have blown. If the dealer redid ALL the values it would not have fixed the problem.
I think some 250 engines are defective........ Love the car and run real good now...... but any others having this type of problem. Let me know. larry

So I've had this vehicle for 2 years and out of nowhere at 49,000 miles the engine is blown. I got regular maintenance and kept my vehicle in great condition. There was no warning signs on the dash to indicate there was any issue. Just all of a sudden when I exited the highway and stopped at the light I heard a banging sound. The mechanic said my oil and coolant fluids are fine and that it is an internal issue. Now I will have to come out of pocket to replace the engine.

I financed a 2014 from a used dealership. It seemed like a great car. I was driving home from work which is 7 minutes from job and I exit the freeway. Then I heard a big clunk from under the hood. I come to fine out a cylinder has zero compression and now I need to replace a motor i have only had for seven months. Someone help please - I feel swagged.
