I received notification December 2017 about the issue and car can be fixed when parts are available. I called to check on the status today and the recording stated part will not be available until early spring 2018. Tmseven months is a long time not to have someone sit in your front seat.

Takata recall. I received notification from Mercury in 2015 about the recall. I contacted apple valley Ford Lincoln in apple valley Minnesota (phone: 952-431-5900) and they told me no replacement airbags are available and would not give me a date when they would be available. The car is unsafe to drive! additionally they would not provide me with another vehicle until the airbags are replaced. I need the airbags replaced immediately or a loaner car. I've driven an unsafe car long enough.

I have received notification of the takata recall from Ford Motor Co. Unfortunately the 2007 Mercury Milan is used to carry children in the front and rear seats. However, the recall notification states explicitly not to allow passengers to use the front seat. This makes the car unusable. Ford needs to provide a car or means to rent another vehicle until the defective and unsafe air bag has been repaired. There are no other means of transportation available and this vehicle is necessary to Transport children in affected seat. Which Ford Motor Co. Has instucted not to use.

"takata recall" July 2016 Ford sent me a letter that the passenger airbag inflator is defective and they will be letting me know when to take it in to get it replaced. Received a letter today ( 1 and 1/2 years later) from Ford that they are still working on the problem and when and if they come up with a fix they will let me know when to get it fixed. They also stress that no one should ride in the front passenger seat as they can be injured or killed by the airbag if in an accident. The only thing they forgot to mention is the trade in value of the vehicle is none. It is an unsafe vehicle so the dealers can not resell it so they don't want it as a trade. Ford should be made to either buy back the vehicle or tell their dealers to give a special trade value. I am stuck with a car that I can not trade in and I can not let anyone ride in the front passenger seat. Ever try going on a date and she has to sit in the back seat? I guess Ford is telling us not to allow anyone in the front seat so when someone gets killed they can say they told us not to sit there. VW got the royal screwing because of the diesel rigging and they were made to buy back the vehicles or give the owners money. Nobody died from that screw up. Ford is getting away with murder.
