The airbags on this vehicle have been recalled. When contacting the Ford dealer they said that the company making the airbags has gone bankrupt and there is not a replacement airbag for the defective one in the vehicle. If the airbag deploys in an accident, it could seriously hurt or kill a passenger. I am afraid to drive the car the way it is and Ford does not know when this recalled new part will be come availalbe.

Takata recall has just been expanded again and the date Ford Motor Company will probably be extended again. Whoever will listen at NHTSA; I'd like to show a pic of a small kevlar 29 filled blanket I have installed over my cars passenger-side air bag. Since Ford isn't doing anything very soon I feel this will help toward reducing the chances of a throat or head trauma during deployment, can you get this picture to anyone interested as there's millions with this recall in limbo. The drivers side is not recalled - yet, but something similar could be produced cheaply.

Takata recall. I have waited over a year now, and Ford still does not have the parts to replace my potentially lethal passenger side airbag inflator, nor do they (as of 7/6/2017) even have a projected date the part/S will be available. This is unconscionable.

I got notice for the dangerous airbag situation in March. I was never notified by dealership nor Ford. When I called the dealer they were going to repair at first. Then they reneged and said they have to order parts and it could take several more months. I have grandchildren who I watch 2months to five, I find it unconscionable to put me or my passengers in harms way for any longer. I want to have this fix please!!

Received a letter from Ford that< "when parts are avail be, Ford Motor Company will send a letter to inform you that parts are available and to contact your dealer to schedule a repair." Received the same letter for my 2006 Milan more than a year ago, and am still waiting to hear from for. In the meantime I'm driving a car with a bomb in my face. My complaint is when I spoke to my local dealer they told me there are no parts for this repair! if NHTSA has ordered Ford to make this repair what is nhsts doing about making certain the Ford does due diligence to get parts to make the repair. I will be forced to cut the wires to my airbag system if this is not done soon. I don't what shrapnel in my face if I'm in an accident. I'll take my chances with my seat belt.
