While attempting to accelerate, the vehicle appeared to stall and the wrench indicator showed on the dash. The vehicle had no power and idled very rough. After pulling off the road I shut the car off and restarted it, the indicator light was still on and I had no throttle. The only way I was able to get the vehicle to move was to clear the code using a code reader. This allowed me to get the vehicle safely home. I was able to drive it to the dealer however, since I cleared the code to make the vehicle operational they would not correct the issue because their diagnostic equipment didn't see anything wrong. Even with me providing them the code that was indicated (P2112) and offering to provide them the tsb that was issued and the NHTSA #.

On at least 4 separate occasions, we were driving (two times going about 60 mph, the other two times about 30 mph) and the engine seemed to seize up or would lose acceleration. The wrench light comes on each time and we are not able to accelerate. We had to coast to the side of the road (extremely dangerous on busy highways to get over to the side of the road with no power). Once to the side of the road, we turned the car off and waited a couple of minutes. Once we turned the car back on, it seemed to work properly again. We took the car to a Ford dealership to have them look at it. The error code did not register so did not know what to fix.

Was driving vehicle to work and was only going 35 mph as I had just pulled out of my drive way. All of the sudden I lost all acceleration. It was like my car was stuck in neutral. The wrench light came on the dashboard. I pulled over, put the car in park and turned my car off. When I restarted my car a few minutes later, the wrench was gone and the problem was resolved. I called the dealer and it is going there tonight. They informed me that this is an issue with the 2010 Mercury Milan. They replaced the throttle body last week on the same make, model, year. As I do more research I see that this is a common problem. If that's the case, why isn't this being recalled? I am just thankful I wasn't on a busy highway and that I have the extended warranty.

I have owned this vehicle for the past year and a half. There have been times when initially putting the vehicle into drive or reverse, that I would notice a surge, but nothing more than that. And nothing I thought anymore about. Yesterday the car drove a couple of blocks normally, then started the same surging but this time the surging did not stop and I had to have the vehicle towed to a dealer. They told me the throttle body was stuck open and it has to be replaced.

While driving home from work on the highway at 65mph my car just stopped throttling and lost power dropping me to like 5mph the lil wrench light came on on the left then went off yet I still had no power. So I immediately turned on the hazzard lights and tried to make it to the side of the road through traffic and turned the car off after a few minutes I tried to start the car and it came on like normal to my surprise so I started to drive only to have it happen again and again before making it home. I literally just purchased the car 2 months prior and its been at the dealership, as they try to talk to Ford about the problem and how to get it corrected for the past month!

I was on fl turnpike at 70 mph, traffic very heavy.I lost power and had to coast to the shoulder from left lane. Almost got ran over, but thank god I didn't.I cut the motor off.restarted it.I got my speed up to 70mph.it surged a few times.ran ok too home. This could be a life or death thing. I wonder if anyone has been hurt because of this. I will call Ford today and get it fixed.

Throttle body defect -- the problem began July 14 and happened several times. It was finally fixed by July 31. The vehicle began to lose power, mostly after stopping at an intersection and making a turn to the right or left. It happened once while driving straight and slowing down for a school zone. In most cases, I was able to coast to the side of the road, turn off the car, and restart. The wrench light came on in each incident. Thankfully, I did not have to go onto a highway before I was able to get the car to the dealer for repair. After they figured out what was wrong, it took about 2 weeks to get the part. It was very frightening for the car to stop in the middle of an intersection, especially when turning left! this is a potentially very dangerous defect, and these cars should be recalled so that the company is responsible for the repair. Most of my driving is done at village speed limits of 25 to 30 mph. Even at those speeds, it is very frightening for the car to suddenly stop in the middle of an intersection. I am still very hesitant to take the car out on the highway. Even after repair, it sometimes feels like it hesitates and might lose power.

I was passing another car. I began to increase my speed. The reading of my speedometer began to decrease & my car began to stop pulling, as if it had lost its energy. I pulled over to side of road. Pressed on the gas pedal to idle up car. Nothing happened. Turned car off & back on. Car began to drive normal for about 5 days. Then it happened two more times in one day. Next, I took it to a Ford dealership. They stated it would take about $520 to repair. I thought my platinum warranty would cover this but, unfortunately I was told it wouldn't. I just purchase this car in Feb 2013. Today's date is August 16,2013....not a happy customer!!!!

First incident car killed twice at stop signs. Since then it has stalled at least 7 times, the last time on the freeway at 65 miles per hour during rush hour. It was only with the help of two highway helpers who blocked lanes on the freeway was I able to exit safely. Had the car towed to the Ford dealership, they ran a diagnostic and no codes were found. They were unable to identify and fix the problem so suggested just taking the car and see if it happens again. In other words, even though the car has stalled at least 7 times, take it out on the freeway again and hope for the best. I advised Ford that was not acceptable and referenced the NHTSA action number PE13003. I have requested they replace the electronic throttle body as the car is not safe to drive.

#1:shortly after purchasing the Milan the car began to just shut down while I was driving. I would have to coast to the side of the road, wait a few minutes & then it would restart. I again had it taken to the service center and they had to replace the throttle body. Now I am having this same problem again. This problem has began again. I again took it to the service center & they couldn't fix anything because they said that they couldn't get the car to mimic the problem.I have 2 young children and during one of the failures I was traveling on a rural country road with nowhere to pull off due to stone mountains on each side of the road. I had to wait in the middle of the road a few minutes until the car would cooperate and start again. This a serious safety issue. We all could've been killed and nobody would ever be able to figure out what happened because according to these technicians the car is fine. It needs to be known that the car is not fine and is dangerous to the drivers and other individuals on the road alongside these cars. #2:also, shortly after purchasing the Milan I was having trouble getting it started in the morning. The car would simply not start, wouldn't even try to turn over, the message board would say service advance trac the other electrical components in the car worked fine, the car couldn't be "jumped" either. After a few hours it would start up fine. Took the car to the service center and they reprogrammed the keys and now a year later I am having the same problem. Since the center states they cannot get the car to mimic this problem when the car is at the center they haven't fixed anything. At least once a week I have this happen and have to use an alternate means of transportation. My car now has 38,000 miles on it but these problems have been happening since about 24000. Help Ford adopt some of the aspects of "our credo values" by J&J!

Had the car towed to the Ford dealership, they ran a diagnostic and could find no problems, no codes. They did find the battery cables were a little loose and tightened them. They advised driving the car and seeing if it happened again. I am talking to the dealership about this as there clearly is a problem and driving it without a repair only sets a potentially dangerous situation when the car stalls again.

The engine kept running, but there was no response when I pushed on the gas pedal. I was able to coast to the side of the road. I turned the car off for 5 minutes and then restarted it and the power returned enough to get me to a Ford dealer.

While driving at approximately 45 mph, I lost throttle response, the engine assumed idle rpms. Fortunately there was a place I could pull over and call for a roll back to take the car to the Ford dealer. The throttle body assembly was the culprit and was subsequently replaced.

Shortly after purchase, vehicle would 'stumble' at highway speeds (40-65). Power would recover and continue. Problem seemed to occur more often in hot weather and seemed less frequent in cooler (winter) weather. Dealer could not duplicate but performed recall 10B15C. Problem worsened with loss of power without warning at anywhere between 35 - 65mph with 'wrench' appearing on display. Shutting car off and restart after a couple/few minutes returns power with no illumination of wrench or engine symbol. Power loss now occurring on each trip and has occurred repeatedly within short time (minutes) of first failure. If engine dies repeatedly, engine symbol illuminates and codes P2111 and P0685 have been found. Engine now dies both at highway speeds and at idle. Researched web for codes and found that throttle body is a likely problem. Contacted dealer(s) who stated any repairs would be at customer's expense.

Driving in city traffic when the car began to stall. Almost rear ended by the car behind me. Wrench light came on and the car stopped. I turned it off and then back on and was able to creep to a shoulder when it stalled out again. $500 repair and $55 tow. My mechanic told me the Ford Motor Co. Was well aware of the problem and that it has been happening when the mileage gets around 50,000 miles. This is inexcusable. I'm going to sue them in magistrates court on Monday.
