I bought my Altima at the end of 2013 I really liked it when I purchased it but as time has gone on my low beam headlights have gotten dimmer the high beam works but you can't drive with them on because you blind other drivers I went to the dealership today for an oil change and asked them to check my lights and told them the problem so they checked it out and came back and told me they could fix the problem for $1150 dollars I just laughed and said no thanks this is a safety issue this should really be a recall by Nissan

My headlights keep getting dimmer and dimmer. I have changed the bulbs 3 times now and nothing is working. I can barely see a foot in front of my front bumper. This is a major safety issue and completely dangerous. I have to drive with my high beams on for me to see yet I know I am blinding other drivers which results in more dangerous driving conditions! please make Nissan recall the headlights for replacement. This is seriously dangerous!!!

My head lights are very dim. I cannot drive at night and I have to use the high beams if I do. I have had the bulbs switched out and I have also had headlight restoration done on the headlights. Nothing has fixed the issue. This is very dangerous. Nissan needs to take responsibility and address this issue. This is a major safety concern and it needs attention. Nissan told me it would cost over $1600 to get new head lights.

I want to start a recall for the 2013-2014 Nissan Altima. The lights are not bright enough no matter how bright the bulb. It is certainly a safety issue because one has to drive using high beams at night in order to drive safely. I am told Nissan is aware of the problem. I am also told that Nissan says the entire housings has to be replaced.at a price to consumers of $1,000 this is so unfair. Consumers.who brought Nissan Altima should not be punished for.trusting this company this is unfair. Nissan needs to take the responsibility for their product and foot the bill. Several times I almost hit someone because I didnt see the person how can I start a recall?

The lights are too dim to drive at night. The beam does not reach me if I stand in front of either headlight. I have to use my high beams to feel safe driving on rural roads or highways after dark. I have had many near - accidents with curb dividers in the center lanes that are not well lit because my lights do not illuminate the road in front of me well enough! one incident about a year ago resulted in a collision of my car and the curb divider-there were no street lamps nearby, and it was dark and rainy and I simply did not see the divider due to lack of headlights.

Vehicles low beam headlight are dangerously dim. It is so severe that it is near impossible to drive the vehicle at normal highway speeds after dark. I installed new low beam bulbs in the car and this corrective action proves worthless. Upon closer inspection, the bulbs are not the problem at all. The material inside the headlight unit has deteriorated rendering the low beam lights useless. This is not an isolated incident, folks everywhere with these same headlights are having the same problem. I called and priced a whole new headlight assembly and each unit was 350 dollars. That is 700 dollars plus just for the headlight set and that amount doesn't include labor cost. The new headlight are the same ones that are already on the vehicle and will be subject to the same problems. This vehicle operated at night on low beams is a serious transportation safety hazard as I am unable to see a safe distance ahead.

Headlights are super dim and dangerous to drive at night. I have replaced bulbs several times and nothing seems to work. If a wreck happens it would be at Nissan fault for not correcting this issue years ago

The drivers side headlights are diminishing in their ability project light forward of the car making the car unsafe to drive at night even with brand new wiring bulbs. The manufacturer and dealers are aware of this defect and charging owners 700 hundred dollars and more to remedy this defect. A recall notice is needed to make these cars safe again to drive in night or low light situations. Thank you.

Headlights gradually get dimmer and dimmer making it very difficult and dangerous to drive at night. This is an obvious safety hazard. The problem is not simple wear and tear, rather it is the breaking down of certain materials within the headlight assembly. All it takes is a simple google search online of "2013 Nissan Altima dim headlights" or "2013 Nissan Altima headlight problems" to see that there are multiple websites where many people have posted the same problem. The diagnosis for me, and for everybody else I've read about online, is that the projection lenses become hazed over and/or the reflective material in the reflector bowl deteriorates, and the only way to fix the problem is to purchase the entire headlight assembly, and the average costs of parts and labor is over $1000 (my estimate at the local Nissan dealership/service shop is $1089.53). Some testimonials online reported having this issue with as little as 30,000 in mileage. My issue started to arise at about 50,000 miles. This is a huge safety issue affecting many many people, thus a recall is more than warranted.

The dim lights on this car are so dim that I can't see good enough to drive at night. I have to turn on the bright lights to see. The difference between the dim lights and the bright lights are like night and day. It's almost impossible to see the difference between the parking lot and a grassy ditch. This is very dangerous to me and my passengers and anyone in front of the car that are not lit-up.

I am writing a complaint about the visibility with use of the low beam headlights on the 2013 Nissan Altima. On a highway with no streetlights visibility is only approximately 3 feet with a sharp cut off. It is very hard to see road hazards until it is too late to stop. When on coming cars pass visibility of the line on the either side of the road is very minimal. On secondary roads with no line visibility of either side of the road when there is an on coming car is practically not there forcing me to slow my speed drastically to keep from either running off the road or hitting the on coming car. I have made serval attempts at new headlight bulbs to try and ease the problem and only received marginal results with very expensive led bulbs. This problem has caused a few deer related accidents with my current Nissan and would have easily been avoided had I had safe visibility.

Headlights have become very dim to the point that the vehicle is unsafe to drive at night without keeping the headlights on bright all the time. This is not an issue with the bulbs (dealer verified that even installing high-intensity bulbs did not fix the issue), but with the halogen projector lens. The only remedy is to replace the entire headlamp assembly at a dealer cost of $1,000 for the pair. A quick google search shows that this is a widespread issue for the 2013-2015 model Altima, and due to the danger posed by this defect I believe a recall is necessitated.

The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Altima. While driving various speeds with the headlights activated, the headlights turned off without waning. The contact mentioned that the bulbs were changed twice; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to david mcdavid Nissan (11911 gulf fwy, houston, tx 77034) where it was diagnosed that the lens in the headlights needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 115,000.

I bought my 2013 Nissan Altima 3 & a half years ago when the car only had 16K miles on it. It now has 72K miles on it. Over the past several months my husband and I both have noticed a significant diminished brightness in the low beam head lights. So much so that I personally will not drive my car at night. I will be contacting Nissan to see if / how they will rectify this issue.

Low beam issue cannot see at night time when driving. Reach out to Nissan but no help with this issue. Gave me a quote to have them fix and in so many words that it was not there problem. I've learned that this low beam is an issue with other vehicles of same make, model, and years. I feel this is a safety issue and should have a recall for this. Driving at night is unsafe with these headlights.
