Kicks S 1.6L

  • CVT transmission
  • 60,000 miles

I really thought I was going to love this car. I bought it to get out of a Ford Focus that was having issues with the CVT transmission, and I was excited to have a brand new car with no issues to worry about. I bought this car brand new with only 5 miles on it, and experienced issues almost immediately. The most recent issue is this throttle body error code being pulled from the engine which I was informed by a Nissan employee that every single vehicle with this type of engine will experience this problem at some time or another.

The fix to this error is replacing the throttle body, replacing the air filter, and reprogramming the ECM, all at the cost of the owner. The dealership told me per the owner's manual, the throttle body needed to be cleaned every 15-20,000 miles which seems extremely excessive to me considering when I googled it, it is recommended to clean it once every 75,000 miles. This is not a cheap fix, and I am extremely dissatisfied with the quality of this vehicle and the customer service from both Nissan corporate and the dealership.
