My 2005 Nissan Murano's driver side visor will not stay in the up position. This causes problems with visibility while driving and is a safety hazard. The cost to replace is very high for such a small part.

The driver's side visor on my Nissan Murano keeps falling down constantly. It will not stay up on its own. I was backing out of a parking stall, and the visor fell down (at the exact wrong moment) blocking my vision. This caused me to be distracted and bump my car into a pole. The damage to my car was just enough where my whole bumper had to be replaced. The cost of the repairs from the auto body shop was $1,050. This is a factory safely hazard failure from Nissan. The expense to replace my visor is a ridiculous $400. Nissan needs to do a recall or at least sell this part at cost. I have since had to velcro the visor it into place. The velcro is not a solution and makes the visor useless. This visor problem is a safety hazard.

I just bought my 2005 Nissan Murano in May 2009 and have just started experiencing my drivers side visor will not stay up. At first I though it was just going to happen a few time, but now it wont stay up but for like 2 minutes then falls back down. I think that this is a major saftey issue, because for that split second that the visor is down I could wreck. I have also heard of other complaints because of passenger side visors doing the same thing, but nothing seems to be getting done. Obviously this is a defect and something should get replaced.

I went to the Nissan dealership and they said not covered under extended warranty and wants $350 dollars per sun visors ($700 plus tax) for the replacements. This is a driving hazard and Nissan should not charge these ridiculous prices for replacement of their faulty parts.

I have a 2005 Murano which just passed 35K in mileage, I also have the gold-preferred warranty. My issue is that the driver-side sunvisor suddenly stop working. It no longer stays in the "up" position. It is not covered by warranty. The visor is dropping down and causing a safety issue. Driver's side sun visor will not stay in the up position. Visor constantly falls down obscuring my vision while driving. I have read hundreds of blogs and forums where this is happening to other Murano owners. Now the visor will not even stay up. I had to remove it. Dealership wants 400$ to replace it. This is definitely a design flaw with this visor. Nissan should issue a recall. This is a mechanical flaw inside the visor.

The passenger side visor came lose and has now completely fallen off my 2005 Nissan Murano. This is a safety issue. At first the issue was I could not see because it would not stay up and now its still and issue because it came off and I can't block the sun when I am driving. Living in South Florida where the sun is always shining this is not safe for driving. There needs to be a recall for this. It's an obvious problem that most of us are having. I have a 2005 Nissan Murano and I am having to replace both sun visors. The driver side sun visor was the first to go and does not stay in any position except straight down... this is causing me to look under it and is very irritating as well as a seeing hazard. The passenger sun visor also will not stay in the up position but at least stays in the extended position against the windshield. Nissan says this is not their problem and it's not covered under my extended warranty. I have to fork out $253 a piece for these sun visors and clearly there is a problem.

I have a 2005 Nissan Murano. At about 55,000 miles, the driver's side visor will not stay up - it falls at the least bump and blocks my vision. Very dangerous when driving in heavy traffic. This has been happening since at least the end of April. I was told my blackburn motors that it would cost me $296.01 plus labor to replace the visor. I have had old beater cars that have never had this problem. This is a dangerous problem and the manufacturer, Nissan, should replace this defective visors at their cost, not mine. If an accident occurs because of this defect, that is a bad mark against Nissan.

The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Murano. Whenever the vehicle is driven over any bumps at various speeds, the sun visor on the driver side falls into the contact's view of the road. The visor can only be put in the up position or the down position, and the level cannot be adjusted. The vehicle has not been diagnosed by the dealer.
