Vehicle was towed to Nissan dealership due to not starting. Diagnostic was completed on day of delivery. Initially told BCM needed to be replaced...part bought and vehicle still would not start. After keeping vehicle for almost 2 weeks, service department stated that I needed a new transmission and radiator for car to run. Quoted price of $10,000 to have repaired.

Its a shame I'm still paying on this Pathfinder and that nissan will not fix the problem. Was a great Suv and its a shame that they dont want to fix the issue with the transmission. I have priced the transmission to have fixed and Do not have 7500.00 to fix the issue. Maybe if I wasn't paying the payment. Its the fact that they were aware of the problem and ignored the responsiblites to fix the issue. Maybe I should get a full refund and they can have the vehicle back.

Thank you for letting me express my Opinion.

  1. NISSAN HAS KNOWN ABOUT THIS FOR YEARS YET DID NOTHING TO INFORM LOYAL CUSTOMERS!

    2. NISSAN IS REFUSING TO OICK UP THE ENTIRE TAB ON A PROBLEM THAT IS CLEARLY A DESIGN FLAW!

    3. THE OUT OF POCKET COST TO REPLACE WITH A NEW TRANSMISSION IS AROUND $9,500.

    4. NISSAN HAS ONLY ATTEMPTED TO MARGINALIZE THE SITUATION BY OFFERING A $2,500 DEDUCTIBLE TO OFF=SET THE COST WHICH THEY ADMIT IS THIER PROBLEM.. WTF???

    5. MOST PEOPLE LIVE PAYCHECK TO PAYCHECK, THIS IS SHAMEFUL OF NISSAN TO NOT STEP UP TO THE PLATE AND COVER ALL EXPENSES ON THIS PROBLEM..

    6. REPORT THIS TRAVESTY, WRITE LETTERS TO NISSAN CORPORATE, GET YOUR VOICE HEARD OUT THEIR PEOPLE...

Ok so if Nissan has been having this issue...Why not a RECALL??? If they were to have claimed THEIR DEFECT!!! It would not be causing such a mess...Why did they not recall the coolers of the transmission when they realized the problems...That would have eliminated huge cost and less damage for their customers....COME ON GUYS...THEIR IS A CLASS ACTION!!! CLAIM IT...YOUR FAULT NISSAN!!! GIVE YOUR CONSUMERS A BREAK!! Some of us dont have the funds to fix such a HUGE COSTLY REPAIR!!

My 2007 Nissan Pathfinder has all the very same issues. Took it to the Ancira Nissan in San Antonio Texas where I am stationed to get the transmission serviced. They proceed to tell me that they can't service my transmission due to cross-contamination of the radiator and transmission. When I asked what needs to be done to fix the problem and can I get a quote done. It takes them an hour and thrty-five minutes to tell me that they would have to replace the radiator at the cost of $2,000.00. And if that doesn't solve it. Then they would have to replace the transmission at a cost of $8,000.00. As I am studying these side-show characters. I notice that they have the price written down on a piece of paper instead of a printed quote. Obviously, so Nissan wouldn't be held accountable to the quote. Meaning that they can change the price at any given time. As of last Sunday evening my pathfinder started acting stranger. It shut down of me. It has power, it just wouldn't turn over. To my surprise I found that the A/T ECU fuse was blown. When I replaced it. My vehicle started right up. Yet, the the same fuse kept blowing as soon as you started the vehicle. Took it to Firestone Compete Auto Care where I'm stationed. They couldn't figure out what was going on even with all the information I gave them. They had to call some special technician to come out and try and find the issue. Still haven't heard what the issue is. Now knowing that Nissan has had this issue since 2005 until now with these very same problems with theses vehicles. They sold us lemons and they knew it! Yes, I got that very same paperwork in the mail from Nissan requesting that I extend my warranty. That's just a trick that Nissan is playing to still not take blame for what they have done to myself and many many others in the same situation. I can't even trade my vehicle in since it would put me upside down in payments. My vehicle was my only source of transportation to get back and forth from work and for traveling to visit my family. Thanks Nissan for leaving me without a vehicle and no help to get another one!!! Thanks again for plaguing consumers with your ongoing problem since 2005 until now!!!

I hate Nissan! I wish I never would have purchased a Nissan vehicle. A few years back I received a letter stating that there was a recall on this vehicle due to a timing belt issue. Took it into the dealer and they kept my car and never bothered to call me to tell me if they were going to fix it. I finally called them and they hadn't started work on it. I took it back and took it to an authorized Nissan mechanic to get it fixed. Now I having problems with the transmission stalling due to coolant going into the transmission. My mechanic told me it would cost $2500 to replace the transmission but he recommended calling the dealer to see if they would fix it. I called them and they said that it was under an extended warranty. All I would have to pay is the deductible. Relieved I asked how much the deductible was and they said $3,000! I'm finished with Nissan. They are garbage and I will bad mouth them to everyone.

I purchased this vehicle in 2008 and it has been relatively problem free. However, last week the transmission starts to shake and shudder. A few days later it goes completely out and the vehicle will not even start. I get it towed to a transmission shop and in a few hours I get the bad, bad, bad news that my transmission is full of coolant and the transmission and the radiator must be replaced and that it is going to cost me $5000 dollars that I do not have. This is the only vehicle that I have and now I cannot get to work.

Being that there are so many problems of this nature, Nissan should step up and fix the problem. I am with everyone else in thinking that Nissan knew about the problem and offered to extend the warranty with no explanation. This is a lot like a shoplifter offering to pay for the item after they have been caught with the item in their pocket. On a serious note, Nissan needs to replace these transmissions which would be cheaper than having to pay for the repairs and associated cost, like lost wages, car rental fees, towing fees, motel fees, so on and so on. I would have liked to have known about this problem before my wife and three children were left stranded on the side of the road.

I cannot believe my eyes.. When I logged into this site.. My Pathfinder always seemed like it shifted a bit slow.. However, I never owed a 2007 Nissan Pathfinder before and I bought it off the lot. Brand new... I just paid the vehicle off a couple of months ago... All of a sudden my engine light came on, my car was having problems shifting in to gear.. Once I was on the interstate I could go about 60 mph and the vehicle would over heat.. So My dad took my NISSAN PATHFINDER to a transmission specialist. they pulled the trany pan and there was a funny smell and a funny color.. There was coolant in my transmission,, and a lot of it.. Then come to find out I have to replace my radiator and my tany.. My dad has to create a by pass to keep this from happening again.. I am pass my warranty.. So the cost ranges from 5k to 7k.. I cannot believe that Nissan is getting away with this...We called the dealership and of course they deny and wrong doing on their product.. I was so proud of my Nissan up to this point... This could have been prevented.. Nissan, at the very least could have let consumers know there may be an issue.. No their solution it to buy a better, updated radiator.. but yet they say there is no problem.... This is not right.. I would like to know if anyone has started a consumer lawsuit.. If not I am willing to take that step... I am reading that families who still owe money on the 2007 Pathfinder cannot afford to replace this part,,, so they are making payments on a veh that is sitting in the driveway... SHAME ON NISSAN.... I will never buy a NISSAN PRODUCT AGAIN... I will go to every television, social media, friends and family member I know and let them know how NISSAN has treated this problem.. My vehicle was not cheap... There are to many people having the same problem for this not to be a mishap on their behalf... How do we solve this??? How can we help people get thier hard earned money back on the road???

I think I have the ongoing problem lots of nissan pathfinder owners have with the tranny having problems. I drove it today on the freeway and seemed to missing gears and the car was like bucking. Very alarming, when you encounter things like this all you see are dollar signs in your head saying man did I f*cked on this deal. I hope when I drive on the freeway tomorrow I don't have this problem again.

Total bill was $6,900.00, Nissan of North America picked up $3,900.00 of it under their new extended warranty policy on the Pathfinders. It works with these limitations; if your Pathfinder has between 80K-90K miles you have a $2,500.00 + tax "Co-Pay", if your Pathfinder has between 90K-99,999 Miles on it you have a $3,000.00+tax "Co-Pay" as they call it. If your over the 100K mileage on any year Pathfinder your SOL!!!

I told Nissan of NA that I was done with Nissan's for good and the customer service representative said "OK".

I had negotiated a deal for a New Honda while this POS was being repaired and the day I picked it up from the Nissan Dealership I drove it to the Honda Dealership and tossed them the key's to my last Nissan forever.

I think that we owe to anyone that we see driving a Pathfinder to let them know ahead of time that at some point they will be screwed by Nissan and that they should get rid of the Pathfinder as quickly as possible. I tell everyone that I see driving one what happened to me and Nissan's lack of care for the safety of their customers driving their vehicles.Nissan can KMA!!

Nissan Pathfinder 2007 was giving acceleration problems. Two days later i was in traffic and car wouldn't go past 10 MPH. I was able to pull over just out of the way of speeding traffic. I had to turn the car off then back on for it to start and slowly shift gears. Still was only able to go up to 15MPH at first, almost got into an accident because of my location. Once i kept going it started to speed up to normal speed. Immediately i called Nissan, but before i was able to get to them my car failed to start. I was sent the recall letter in 2012 for my make/model/year. NOT RIGHT because by that time i received the letter i had already gone over the mileage. Even if i was within mileage how can you make the buyer pay up to $3000 dollars for a MANUFACTURE defect. One problem is starting to lead to another. First bad TCM then Relay. I'm fed up with trying to fix a vehicle that i kept maintained with the necessary maintenance checks. I did everything right as an owner, if my vehicle had been installed with GOOD hardware (Transmission/Relay/ETC.) then i would still have a good running vehicle. I will never buy another Nissan again!!!!!

My beautiful red exterior, cream leather interior, fully loaded, brand new tires is a #^*(()%^ LEMON!!!!!!!!!!! I am heartbroken that we did not receive the notice until after the warranty had expired (was it intentional) at 8year/80,000 mile stop, after that you are screwed, so sorry so late. There needs to be some kind of restitution by Nissan to the ones who fall in the crack of the car being sold to us at 78,000 miles at full value knowing there is something horribly wrong with the vehicle. This is morally what is wrong with the auto industry and the country at large. We want something for nothing and our word is of no value!

This is has been a real pain. If this is something with the NISSAN, I don't think they should charge a deductible, reading so many of your complaints, it seems like this is happening with every vehicle of this make and model Pathfinder 2007. I for sure will never buy a Nissan ever!!! My dealer tells me I have to pay $3,000.00 when I really think this is the automaker's responsibility to build a dependable car, not when a vehicle is 60,000 - 95,000 for the transmission to go. My dealer in Melbourne is charging me $3,000.00 deductible, and $25 a day for a car loan, no discount whatsover!!!! Again, the NISSAN automaker is the responsible party - not the dealer, or the customer!!!!!!!!
