The brake, traction control and ABS warning lights came on in the dashboard. I went to local auto parts store and they scanned the vehicle and I got a C2200-0049 DTC. This apparently means I there is an internal failure in the ABS Module. I went to my local dealer and they told me the ABS Module is backordered and it will be at least 45 days before I would be able to get the repair. I've looked online and have discovered there appears to be a severe shortage of availability of the part and has been for several years. I don't understand how such a critical component of a vehicle is unavailable. To my research, the required part number is 68228991-AD.

My 2014 Ram 1500 ABS light, traction control, and brake light popped up and if I drive it for a short bit and stop and shut it off and crank it up the light don-??t come back on. It has been doing this all the time through the winter and now says on all the time. All so the back up camera doesn-??t power up when you first start vehicle for about two minutes on the radio display. The camera not coming on creates a big safety issue when backing up. We have small grandchildren and this makes it a big safety concern.

Abs light, park brake light and traction control warninglights on dash. Non are working vehicle slides on wet pavement. Took to repair shop was informed this is a common problem with this year and model. No parts are available for a fix. Was told by a Ram dealership they have at least 5 vehicles waiting on parts and could be up to a year before any are available. Vehicle is not able to be operated safely. Ram should be held responsible for negligence. 1 year later still waiting on parts

After rigorous research, it appears that my anti-lock braking system module has failed. A trusted family member that has worked on a plethora of vehicles during their career has performed an inspection and agrees. With the ABS module failing, this can be a significant safety issue for myself and others who own the same vehicle in both collision prevention and defensive driving maneuvers when necessary. I have called Ram dealerships specifically to inquire if the part is available, and it is not available but is in high demand (even dealerships are having difficulty with acquiring the part). After a significant amount of research, it is blatantly obvious that I am not the only one who can't find this needed part. This is my only vehicle for transportation. I have ordered the part with a third-party auto part vendor ($915) and have received an email from them advising me that the part I ordered and need is out of stock, and my spot in line is reserved for when the part becomes available. After even more research, I have learned that the manufacturer for Ram parts no longer manufactures this particular part. There currently are warning lights on (ABS, traction control, and the brake indicator) they have remained on since diagnosing this issue and have not gone away. With that being said, this can have a significant impact on immediate braking if necessary, and can lead to other problems such as stability control, transmission issues, uneven braking, parking brake failure, and ultimately total brake failure while in motion. This is not just an issue for me, but apparently for a significant amount of 2013-2015 Ram owners as well. I am on a budget; there is zero supply and high demand. Ram owners are hemorrhaging money regarding repairs to this necessary component for safe vehicle functionality. With this being my mode of transportation, I'm having to be even more aware of extra safety precautions which adds a significant amount of unnecessary stress as a driver.

I have my 2014 Dodge Ram in for service for my ABS module replacement, part number 68228991AD, after the ABS light and traction control light came on. I have been told the part is on back order and has been for quite some time. The dealer has called other dealers to locate the part, and all are in the same situation, cannot locate that part. This is a safety issue to do with the braking of the vehicle and if continued driving with a faulty ABS Module, could lead to brakes locking up or vehicle not stopping when needed. How can this part be on back order so long and people having to take risks and drive their vehicles with the issue as they may not having anything else to drive. My vehicle has been at the dealer since July 10th, 2025 awaiting this part. They tell me they do not have a date as to when it can be expected to arrive or if it will arrive. They gave recommended to me not to drive the vehicle in this situation as I could be in accident when the brakes are needed. This needs to be addressed and this part should be recalled as I have done my own investigation online and there are lots of people with this same problem and unable to get the part. Some people have become desperate and purchased refurbished or used ABS modules for this same vehicle and paid a significant amount for it just to have it fail just shortly after installation. Driving with a faulty ABS module can be risky as it disables the ant-locking system, potentially leading to wheel lockup and reduced steering control during braking, especially in slippery conditions. This needs to be addressed by your organization as the safety of human beings and their families are at risk of accidents with potential deaths.

Anti-Lock Brake Module Internal Failure, error code C2200--49. This ABS failure also takes out the following safety features, anti-lock braking, traction control, trailer towing brake controller, and cruise control. As a result I do not have these safety features, and I tow a 10,000 lb rated trailer that required that the OEM factory brake controller works. A new module is $1200 plus, however there are NONE to be found. It has been on National Back Order for several years, and affects many year models. Failure at first was intermittent and worked during cold weather, but once up to 70 degrees or above it failed consistently, then finally failed permanently. l Intermittent Failure was real risk when towing, as you could not depend on system working in case of emergency.

ABS module for 2014-2016 Ram 1500 5.7l is (and has been) on -??indefinite back order-??. I researched and found that I am far from unique when it comes to this assembly. The ABS module failure also causes issues with traction control. Due to lack of parts, and high cost of repair, I was concerned with the safety of this truck. Over the last week, I was forced to trade in the truck.

I purchased This truck new in 2014 and have had very few problems with it, but now the ABS module is defective which affects the brakes, traction control, cruise, with all lights on. In driving the vehicle under wet roads it has gone out of control and is dangerous. Ram has told me that the parts are back ordered and recently gave me incorrect information as to the extent of this parts problem. I paid over 50k for this vehicle to keep in my older years and I do not want to have to change now. This is a real problem that could get someone hurt or killed. They say it is not a recall issue but there are thousands of these parts needed and Ram seems to [XXX]. I don't usually voice a complain but this hits home to me. Thanks Ram has a claim pending with my vin # INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The ABS, Traction Control, Trailer Breaking lights are on also impacting Adaptive Cruise Control making them all inoperable, even though the truck is still able to be drive, albeit unsafely. I took it to my local repair shop and was told the ABS Controle Module, part number 68228991AD was identified as bad and in need of replacing at approximately $2000 and that the part is on indefinite backorder. I tried to locate the part on my own and there is in fact a nationwide backorder. After further investigation, I found multiple owners on Ram forums either having or have had the same problems. On one parts website, I found this message regarding the part: PART ON HOLD UNTIL ENGINEERING REVIEW IS COMPLETE, EXP - MAR 20TH, 2025. Located at: [XXX] This is not just an issue with 2014 Ram trucks, but extends to other model years using the same part number. This is a huge safety issue that should be addressed through a recall and the NHTSB has the power to right this wrong. The ABS system on the truck goes out which causes the truck to have no breaks. ABS module is faulty, your wheels may start locking, leading to a loss of traction. This could be especially dangerous in wet conditions, as it increases the risk of skidding. Another issue is there is no replacement parts avaible to fix this issue, truck owns now have vehicles that now is a ticking time bomb. Ram needs to fix this issue ASAP!! Dealership are saying they have no idea of when replacement parts will be available.

ABS failure warning light came on. Two separate mechanics verified it as an ABS module failure. This module has been recalled for 2017 and newer Ram trucks and demand is so high that they are not available from Chrysler corporation. I now have a truck with no reliable braking system and no repair option. I found a company that claims to repair other ABS modules, but not this one. I feel that this is a major safety issue.

Unknown. I have a 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 Tradesman 5.7L Hemi 4x2. The ABS Control Module for the Anti-lock braking system pump. That component went out and my Cruise Control won't work without it and my Display has an engine light on because of the back order for this main component.

The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated that they had noticed the front wheels on their vehicle locking up upon depressing the brake pedal while driving at various speeds, causing the vehicle to slide while slowing down or coming to a complete stop. The ABS, Parking Brake, and Traction Control Warning Lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where the vehicle was diagnosed and the contact was advised that the ABS Module was faulty, and that it would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 110,000.

Was told by my mechanic that the ABS control module needs to be replaced. All ABS warning lights are illuminated on the dash panel cluster. He said the Ram/Mopar has an over 1 year wait for this part to be back in stock. That is insane. What scam is this from FCA/RAM" Are people supposed to drive around their truck and hope the ABS system doesn't fail and end of hurting someone because they discontinued the part. Absolute frustrating and uncalled for by FCA/RAM. This also a very widespread issue with these modules in RAM trucks and why isn't something done about this? How can they sell vehicles that are potentially very very unsafe"

ABS module failed, Error Code C2200. Issue is so common that replacements parts are unavailable nationwide and have been for months. Dealership has reported that the module is under "Engineering Review" with the manufacturer and has been for over a year with the deadlines being extended repeatedly. This is a safety issue, and the truck cannot be repaired.
