While driving I had a sudden failure of the fuel level sensor unit along with a check engine light. The fuel level sensor caused the fuel gauge to drop to empty immediately and the dte estimate to show low fuel. When new unit was picked up from the dealership I was advised that he had been selling a large amount of the specific part and to hold onto my receipt since it had a 2 year warranty.

The fuel gauge stopped working and the check engine light came on at 49K miles on my 2014 Ram truck. After doing research online, it's a very common problem. Most comments say around 35K to 60K miles on Ram trucks, the check engine light will come on and the fuel gauge drops to zero. At most mechanic shops, the price is around $800 for the repair. The repair consists of two options.... 1) drop the fuel tank from under the truck and replace the fuel pump w/fuel sensor. 2) unbolt the bed and back bumper in order to raise the bed completely and replace the fuel pump w/fuel sensor. This is a minor issue and happening all of the time. It's very expensive and this may have to me done every 50K miles or so.

Electrical seems to have affected 3 items all within the last 6months at different times: Non-related categories -(one fog light, front air bags & dash board dimmer switch) # 1 - (fog light) only passenger side, checked fuses, wiring and bulb - all ok, # 2 (dimmer switch does not dim driver side gauges/panel) and # 3- air bag warning light/- warning symbol/picture shows front air bags. Checked recalls, nothing reported on your site note: All other electrical devices etc are in working order at this time (fog light - stationary/performing a walk around for a road trip, gauge/panel- at a idle, air bags- when I started vehicle- warning light appeared, and dimmer switch - does not fully engage dim only dims roof light, not gauges- thank you for your time, have a good day!

Fuel sensor fail occurs when tank gets to halfway point; once it fails the tank appears to be empty and a check engine light comes on. Me, along with thousands of other drivers experience this. My vehicle started experiencing this with only 50,000 miles, this shouldn't be happening and this is a defective unit. A failure such as this can cause headaches to drivers by giving them a false sense of what is actually being presented to them on their instrument panel.

Error code P0463: Fuel level sensor circuit high input, this means my fuel gauge is experiencing failures and I can not accurately determine how much fuel is in the vehicle. Doing a quick google search, this appears to be a very common issue with the 2014 Ram 1500 5.7L. I'm at roughly 68500 mile on my truck so the issue is also out of warranty.

Horn no longer works, by pushing it or with key fob locking when locking my truck. I've read that this has happen on multiple Ram 1500S. My just stop when exiting my truck and I notice I didnt get any beep when trying to secure my truck. Checked every fuse, relay, even took it to the dealership I purchased it from. Only had the truck for 4 weeks and they told me I would have to pay $600. This is a safety issue and I shouldn't be responsible for a horn not beeping..

While driving the 2014 Ram 1500 the vehicle has lost power numerous times. This is an intermittent issue and I have not been able to duplicate on the spot. This means that the lose of power can happen at any given time. This lose of power will result in losing steering and sometimes braking, since all are controlled by electronics. These occurrences have happened while normal driving conditions; rolling up windows, turning on bright lights, and just driving.

Driving on hwy 17 down a ramp, throttle sensor light came on and truck stalled out. Restarted truck to pull off hwy/ramp to safer location, noticed thick bl smoke billowing out from under hood. Pulled into parking lot, lifted hood to see flames coming off engine. Bystander called 911 while I got a bucket of water. Threw bucket of water onto engine while police and fire dept finished extinguishing. Fire dept stated they have seen a few eco fires. Towed to hendrick's, contacted Ram. Ram stated no need to contact ins co (they will handle it). Thought this was strange, contacted ins co anyways. Inspected by 2 fire specialists, ins co and Ram. Ins co stated manufact defect, Ram stated leaky injector (which were replaced by Ram 18K mi prior at dealership). I sustained smoke inhalation and 1st degree burns to face, neck, lt arm and had/have headaches. Truck was still under 100K warranty with only 40K. Ram denied opened claim and warranty. Ins co totaled truck out, they still have an open claim against Ram. Additionally Ram denying my emissions settlement of 3K only offering 900 (stating emissions work couldn't be done due to fire classifying me as a previous owner although I was current owner even at that time). I still haven't settled emissions. Recently Ram has recalled all 108K eco-diesels 2014-19 for fire hazard. My truck fits the description for what happens and always needed a little coolant with maint, insp, oil changes. I paid off my truck before, and now have a payment with what I consider a lesser truck. When I call fca and give my info they often hang up, act like they cant hear me, or state they are transferring me to manager (hanging up on me). Also stating someone will get back to me, but never any returned call (supposed to get a call tomorrow, will see).

The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. While driving at an unknown speed, the low fuel indicator illuminated despite the fact that the contact had just filled his vehicle with fuel the previous day. The contact filled the vehicle with a low amount of fuel and the indicator turned off. The contact stated that the fuel indicator illuminated again while on a trip when the fuel level was at 3/4 fuel capacity. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 59,500. Consumer stated he is having issues with check engine lights and shuts down after 1/2 minute, after reporting to NHTSA.

Fuel pump sensor failed. Replaced the part, bought from the dealership. Installed and worked for two days before the sensor again failed. When the fuel tank is filled the gauge does not sense any fuel in the car. Also the car's computer system fails to tell you which part is in failure- the brake light indicator went on for the passenger side brake light, it was actually the brake light on the cab that was out.
