Received recall notice VB1 to replace egr cooler that may cause engine fire. The recall says that parts are available. I contacted 2 dealer and had chat with fca directly. All of them told me that parts are not available. Neither dealer would give me an appointment date and said that there were many ahead of me. Fca said that parts are allocated at 1 set of parts per dealer per week. The bottom line is that these trucks are at risk for fire that could result in injury, but fca is not responsive by the fact that the parts are not available.

My truck had a check engine light appear that said "fuel injection lower than expected. When I would crank it up, you could hear the engine running harder than it should with an audible constant knock. I made a couple stops and it shut off on me just before the second stop. I tried cranking it up again, and it started, but took awhile to start. After that, I was traveling down the road at approximately 50 mph when I heard a loud "boom" from under the hood. My truck shut down on me in traffic. Luckily, I was not hit by any other motorists and made it to an adjacent parking lot. Then after several attempts to start it again, I finally had to call a tow truck because my truck was inoperable.

Completed aem update which promised no change in performance. Truck is now dangerous to drive and does not meet my needs, which is why I purchased the truck. I nearly get T-boned pulling in or across traffic. The lag in the truck is extreme. I own a 21 foot boat and can barely pull it out of my 2 mile driveway that is on a slight hill. Truck bogs down and nearly stalls. Very disappointed in the truck after the update.

I started hearing a knocking sound from the engine. I took it in to the shop and found that there were several other recall issues with the vehicle. Considering I used my vehicle for typical driving, and keep it maintained with regularly scheduled synthetic oil changes, tires rotations and fluid refills that it shouldn't have had any of the current issues wrong with it. The rep tried to proclaim that the knocking sound came from normal wear and tear on the engine. I strongly disagreed with him, the $5500 estimated repair cost and decided to voice my concerns with coming on here to report it. The most alarming thing is that they tried to pressure me into starting the repair of the vehicle while stating that they needed to get into the engine first before they could determine if that was all wrong with the vehicle. I'll never buy a Dodge again after this experience.

I was driving my Ram 1500 ecodiesel to and from work and noticed a knocking sound. Scheduled a service appointment and the dealership diagnosed my truck with catastrophic engine failure. A new engine is required with a repair bill of $12,370. There are many people with the same issue, a law suit has been filed due to Chrysler refusing to cover repair cost. I feel Chrysler sold me a lemon, please conduct an investigation.

The contact also stated that the engine was replaced at 112,00 miles in 2017 by the same dealer mitchell Chrysler Dodge Ram, 416 hopmeadow St, simsbury, ct 06070. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was filed. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 186,000. VIN unavailable.

While waiting at a stop light and then stepping on the accelerator the Ram went into limp mode and did not go past 15 mph. The Ram did not turn on any light to notify me of an issue. I had to forcefully take it out of limp mode therefore risking the transmission to get damaged. There was a big truck behind me making a left who thankfully noticed the Ram stopped working and patiently waited for me to move out of the way. I turned it off and turned it back on and it started working again. Seems like a recall issue on Ram as I have been reading this has happened to hundreds of people.

Received a letter from fca, titled, approved emissions modification disclosure 3.0L diesel. Took letter and visited Dodge dealer, they did not know anything about the letter and stated that they could not do anything without a recall number. I have since monitored motor for any signs of overheating or loss of cooling fluid. The truck continues to have low gas mileage, shifts hard and at high RPM. When first started is sluggish and I have to drive cautiously as it hesitated on take off.
