After V-08 emissions recall on Ram echo diesel truck lost horsepower and getting lower fuel mileage. The truck barely has the power to move itself much less any towing capability. The fuel mileage went from 20 mpg highway to 15 mpg highway. Have had the truck back in for service three times with no improvement. Ram is telling me that there is not anything they can do to fix the problem, because it is a government recall. I did not purchase this truck to have it get 15 mpg on the highway and have no horsepower to tow. This truck is used as a ranch truck, so towing is what it needs to be doing. My only option now is to trade it in for a bigger truck at a financial hit on my wallet. This problem should of never been allowed to happen with the recall oversite. I know I'm not the only one having this issue because I have talked with many other truck owners and they all are having the same issue. I would apricate a fix to this issue because paying $50,000 for a truck only to have a recall take away the reason it was purchased is wrong. A new truck is going to cost around $65,000 and now that it's out that all Ram 1500 eco diesel have this problem our trade in value has dropped. I had a trade in offer on my truck last month for $30,000 and as of last week it dropped to $21,000. So as you can tell this recall is affecting a lot of people. Please look into this issue.

I recently had the emissions reflash recall for my 2015 Ram 1500 ecodiesel. I was told this would not affect driveability, fuel mileage, or engine performance. Well, it has affected all. My fuel milage has dropped( used to get around 22 combined, lucky to get 20 now). The engine is lacking power and vehicle downshifts on grades where it didnt before. The turbo is also louder. I assume this is from them choking down the vanes on the turbo to account for less fuel being delivered to reach their emission claims. My biggest concern has to do with the extreme lack of response from a dead stop. It makes pulling out in traffic a safety concern. You can literally put the pedal to the floor board and the truck will barely move then suddenly it will take off. It does this no matter how much throttle is being applied it has a delay.this vehicle is no where near what it was when I purchased it. I feel that if this reflash is the best solution to them lying about their emissions to begin with, perhaps Fiat, Chrysler should be buying these vehicles back instead of making more false claims.

Fca required V08 recall was completed and their aem installed to the PCM/tcm. I picked my truck up and immediately noticed it was down on power. Since I have lost 4-5mpg average over what I was getting before the aem was installed. The truck is overall down on power since the aem was installed. As well the truck is dangerous to drive until the coolant temp reaches at least 150 degrees F. the truck has no power when the engine is below 150F and can't get out of its own way and leaves me vulnerable to a collision due to turbo lag and lack of power. If I pull into traffic to merge or cross an intersection my fear is I will not be able to accelerate quickly enough or avoid an accident should I need to. I cannot allow my wife to drive the truck any longer due to the dangers and lack of power.

After I had the aem installed on my Dodge Ram ecodiesel the truck would loose power when trying to accelerate and when pulling out into traffic from a complete stop. On Thursday July 11 2019 I was pulling into traffic from a stop sign and the truck stalled in the middle of the road! I was almost hit by the cross traffic. I currently have my truck at the dealership, however I have read many complaints in regards to the same problem others are having. I am scared to drive this truck and I am hoping the fca can make Dodge come up with a fix for this issue or lemon law these vehicles as they are dangerous to the person driving and the others on the road!

After the emissions recall flash of the ECM on the ecodiesel Ram 1500S the truck does not accelerate from a stop causing dangerous situations when pulling out on to roads. After the ECM flash there has been numerous times I have almost been T-boned when attempting to make a left turn on to streets. You hit the accelerator and the truck creeps along for a good 4 or to 8 seconds then it will accelerate.

My check engine light came on while I was driving down the interstate, followed shortly by a 'service def system ' see dealer' display on the dash. I was 300+ miles from home on a business trip, so I wasn't able to get it to my dealership quickly. I called a few dealerships in the area (central Michigan), but none of them were going to be able to look at it for at least 4-5 days. After driving about 50 miles or so toward home, the display changed to 'service def system ' engine will not restart in 200 miles). I was advised by the dealer that it would continue running as long as I did not shut it off, so I drove it back to my hometown and directly to the dealer for service. It was determined that the issue was that the 3 bolts between the diesel particular filter and the scr had sheared. With exhaust coming out of that flange, the def injector, def injector connector, and the def supply line melted. Regrettably, I don't know if they melted resulting in the check engine light coming on or if they melted after the light came on, but I would suspect that they were already damaged prior to the light coming on and it was the damage that cause the light to come on. The local dealer (leman Ram) told me that it was my fault that those items melted because I drove the truck with the check engine light on. I asked what I should have done since I was nowhere near home and could not get my vehicle serviced, but they didn't have an answer. My contention is that the bolts between the particulate filter and the scr should not have sheared. I feel like this is a defect / design flaw and either way, this is what led to the damage to the def system. So basically, a design defect that resulted in the bolts shearing and causing damage elsewhere was blamed on me and resulted in me spending $1,168. The is a 2015 Ram ecodiesel with 153,039 miles.

I have had a severe vibration from the rear of my truck at speeds between 50mph and 75mph which vibrates the floor board and front seat and the also the center console. I have had the tires rebalanced. I have had the tires removed from the rims and the rims checked. I have had the truck fully inspected with no reported/known issues by the Dodge dealer in shallotte, N.C. (victory Dodge). This is the same type of incidence(s) reported in the 2014 Dodge Ram under NHTSA id nuber 10056977 service bulletin no. 16-001-14. Dodge issued a service bulletin for the replacement of the rear prop shaft/U-joint in August of 2014. When you inquire to Dodge of the issue they claim they no nothing about any issues.

Entire truck shakes inside at 50+mph and does not go away the faster you drive. The shake started with factory tires and since putting new tires on the vehicle the shakes continue, feels like a drive line vibration or something in the rear end.. took to dealership and they blamed the new tires and would not investigate further but the shake was there prior to the new tires at the same speeds, I've had the new tires road forced balanced 3 times and each time the company said my tires are ok. Lifting the rear of the vehicle up myself and putting into drive the right rear looks as if there is a wobble from the axle shaft and lots of noise from rear differential. There was a recall for this for July 2015 on about improper heat treatment but my build date was May 2015 and think that this truck is affected as well. This is a cause for concern because those axles that were defective have a possibility of breaking while driving and seems unsafe when your transporting family in the vehicle.

Passenger side storage well was completely filled with water. Went unnoticed for unknown number of days. Took vehicle into crown Dodge of fayetteville. They acknowledged the growing number of complaints on the same issue. Replaced 3rd brake light, they tried telling me that all door weather strips were worn and needed replaced. Dealership did not look for, find or fix water damage to the seats, carpet or body panels. This is the second incident with water damage in the same spot while I have owned this vehicle.

My truck keeps looking up the steering wheel. Every morning when I first start the truck I have to let it sit for about 45 minutes. After the 45 minutes I turn the ignition off and on again and the steering will unlock. Its unlocks when the transmission temp reaches about 190 degrees. Sometimes the steering locks while I'm driving. I have reached out to doge and they said for me to take it to a dealer and pay for an estimate then to send it to them for them to see if they'll cover it. My have taken my truck for other recalls to planet Dodge in miami and they've told me they've had plenty of trucks like mine come in with the same issue. This is very dangerous being sometimes when I am turning its locked up. I am aware there are recall for this same issue from Dodge they say just not my truck but my truck is affected with the same problem they need to include more trucks in that recall. If you would like you can inspect my truck any time. This problem started about 6 months ago and gets worse every day. Please help. When the trucks power steering is locked it say power steering maintance required.

Air suspension compressor went out. We live in Minnesota and upon this happening I talked to the dealer and researched this issue online and it is a non stop issue. The dealer said they fix this same problem all the time but there is no recall. It is a expensive fix that Dodge is not covering yet it happens all the time. Please look into this issue.

Upper instrument panel is sticky with excessive fogging of windshield. "dashboard" is sticky, won't clean up with water based cleaners/ cleaning wipes. Residue on inside surface of windshield won't clean up without cleaner. The residue is excessive and causes moderate visibility problems when driving with sun directly in your face. Noted excessive buildup of residue within two years of purchase - same time noted that build up of dust, bugs on the upper instrument panel started.

There isn't enough room for the entire ordeal, but I will do my best to congest it. June 19th: Went to dealer ship with check engine light, nobody there knew what it meant, and they erased it and told me not to worry about it unless it comes back. July 3rd: Vacation trip, about 2 hours into driving, truck looses throttle, solid check engine light comes on, "service electronic throttle control" smoke coming from engine bay, smelled like plastic to me. Found what looked like a melted quarter sized boiling spot on the manifold? I believe. Checked that engine light was solid, and on June 19th was told if light is solid, it's safe to drive, if it's blinking shut off imediately. It was solid. Vacation's over, drive back to vegas at about 40-50mph (truck wouldn't go any faster) on blinkers the whole way with my fiancee in the passanger seat, and 3 year old son in the back seat. An hour ourside of vegas, truck was throwing flame balls and sparks out the rear, immediately pulled off to the desert, and evacuated my son and fiancee. Grabbed red bulls and green teas to douse the fire. Got the fire out after several minutes. If I didn't notice the sparks or fireballs, or if a fuel line caught on fire, we could have died. The entire underside of the truck was burned and the dpf on the exhaust was glowing bright red still. I spoke with an original engineer on the truck, through a facebook group for these trucks, which he states 2 weeks prior when I took the truck in, the egr must have started malfunctioning, and they shouldn't have brushed me off. Which led to it sticking open, and blowing a hole in the intake manifold (the burning plastic smell) when I was driving back to safety (in the middle of nowhere), a regeneration occured causing the dpf to fill up, and essentially explode, and catch the truck on fire. Truck is awaiting reps from detroit.
