Power steering not safe, locked up. Reacts the same way a power steering pump would act of low or blown. In research looks like there was already a recall for same years and models for this same thing but mine wasn't included. However my steering locked up and hard to turn. Not safe.

Power steering failed to work intermittently. Loss of power steering was more prevalent during freezing conditions. This has caused unsafe driving conditions and was experienced while the vehicle was both in a stationary position and in motion. The certified Ram dealership stated the cause was a faulty power steering gear box.

Power steering constantly is going in and out. Sometimes for a day or two, sometimes every other turn, and sometimes every turn is half power steering and half not (kind of like pulsing). I've had 2 rack and pinion replacements with still ongoing issues. There is an active recall for my year truck, but my truck is not apart of it even though I'm experiencing the exact issues of the recall

The air suspension on my 2015 Ram 1500 has been failing (blowing fuses while driving, freezing up and failing to inflate before startup) each winter for the past three years. As mentioned above, the system can fail while operating the vehicle, due to blown fuses from an electrical short in the system. It also can just fail to inflate on cold days. The system apparently was not installed with an air drying capability causing these issues above and this should be expected in colder climates. The air suspension is a 'closed' system, but was built is capable of pulling in air from the outside under certain conditions (meaning it is not a closed system). Given the fact this ability was incorporated into the system, an air drying system should have been included as well. It is a critical safety concern when the system fails to inflate the air suspension and fca should have known it would fail. I would like to see a recall reimbursing people for the costs associated with fixing failures of this system (compressor and air bag failures) as well as the installation of a remedy (full replacement) to permanently fix the system.

Power steering has started to turn hard at times when turning corners. It will turn a little bit fine and then become extremely hard to turn for about 6 inches on the steering wheel. It will do this 3 times or so depending on how sharp you try to turn. It happen a couple times last month then went away and drove fine. Today it started again. I wasn't sure I was going to get turned. It has not gone away as of now. I just went out and checked. We stationary you can feel it grabbing a little. While driving in the city it can be very tough to turn. I haven't tried to make any sharp turns at highway speeds but after exiting the interstate on an exit ramp with a curve. After turning the wheel a few inches I can feel more tension than normal. I believe this to be a faulty electronic power steering assist that I see there is a recall on but not on my truck.

I have been experiencing the "death wobble" anytime a bump is hit while driving at speeds of 40 mph +, on the freeway the wobble is so bad that recently my truck began swerving all over the road and almost went off-road, until I could regain control of the truck. A bump on a turn is much worse. I am so fearful of the unsafe shaking of the front end while driving higher speeds that I now avoid the freeways and take alternate routes if possible.

The electric power steering does not work on startup when the temperature outside is 65 degrees or lower. The warning light comes on and the power steering doesn't work. Sometimes when left running to warm up first and then turned off and then back on the power steering will work. Sometimes, the truck needs to be driven a few miles to fully warm up then stopped, turned off and started back up, then the power steering will work. This wasn't much of a problem when I am in Florida where I bought the truck, but I am visiting in Michigan now in June when temperatures are still getting down as low as the forties at night. The problem first occurred one week after I bought the truck. The dealership I have taken it to here in Michigan wants to replace the entire power steering unit for almost $2900 which I don't understand because the power steering works fine when it is warm on startup. So far, the power steering hasn't gone out while driving.

While turning left or right the steering was loose in spots and then tight in spots. It made turning and predicting amount of force required to turn unpredictable and dangerous as you may not turn quick enough going into a turn or oversteer into a turn. Dealer was to fix, but new rack and pinion and steering box made it worse.
