Personally, just 3 weeks ago. My 3rd engine failed. It looks like they're going to put a 4th. I own a 2016 ecodiesel 4X4 big horn. Always taken it to the dealer for maintenance and never drove it rough and rarely towed. 1st engine went out at 55,747 miles. 2nd engine went out at 112,482 miles. 3rd engine went out at 144,806 miles ever since the 1st engine failure. I've tried to have them buy it back with fca refusing everytime. After the 1st one. I knew the sound you described and knew the engine was about to fail so I started recording it in my phone. Now I have 2 video documentation on 2 separate failures. Let's see them try to explain this one. I've had a lawyer involved now because they don't listen to the little guy, so now I have to take them to court. 2 out of the 3 times my engine went out, I was almost hit from behind and had to swerve off the road.

I have a 2016 Ram 1500 ecodiesel. The computer was reprogrammed to comply with the emissions lawsuit brought against fca. After this update, the vehicle fuel mileage dropped about 18% which is less than the advertised mileage. The vehicle also lost power (I have no way of measuring) but a noticeable difference when towing. Last but most importantly, there is a terrible throttle response lag when the engine is cold. This issue has caused some near crash scenarios for me when attempting to pull out on a busy road. Specifically, when accelerating from a stop or while rolling when the engine is cold, the throttle must be pushed between 3/4 and full to get the vehicle to respond (I've read this is caused by the cold turbine). This occurs every day with the masters near accident occurring today while leaving the dealership. I have taken the vehicle to 3 different dealers and made complaints directly to fca with no satisfactory answers to address the problems.

The failure mileage was 99,000.

I was driving on the highway when my vehicle stalled. Towed it to shop and they diagnosed it with internal engine failure. A valve dropped into the motor resulting in the entire thing needing to be replaced. Vehicle has only 38000 on it.

I was traveling at 70 mph and experienced a total shut down, attached is the invoice that I paid to arrigo Ram while in West palm beach fla for the tone ring replacement on my 2016 Ram eco diesel 3.0 I have come to learn that there is a recall on this exact item called W68. For some reason my VIN number doesn't come up on the recall list, although I have experienced the exact issue listed, and I own the exact vehicle named in the recall. I also paid for a rental through the dealership while it was being repaired. I have spoken with the arrigo service manager and he tells me his hands are tied with regard to reimbursement as my VIN was somehow not listed in the recall. I believe this is merely and oversight as people make mistakes.

As I was driving, after turning a corner, accelerating about 40 mph the engine violently shook, truck lost engine power. Dead. After towing back to dealer, the fault code indicated the sensor ring failed (recall W58). That was mid-September 2020. The truck was in same dealership for most time since last week of August 2020 with emissions problems. So far, all have been covered by warranty. Dealer has provided me with transportation, but I have not had my vehicle to drive, with no end in sight. Lockwood motors marshall mn has all repair invoices, since they have been warranty covered.

20V-475 or W58 recall to replace reluctor wheel has been public since August. To date, fca has provided no info about timing of a possible solution. A failure of the crankshaft reluctor wheel due to delamination results in instant engine failure. I have had to park this truck for fear of engine failure. Now my 5 year powertrain warranty has expired as the truck sits for month after month. If a replacement is eventually installed, I should get a warranty extension to make up for my loss of 4 months of warranty and 4 months of use.

I have been waiting since 12/19 to get my vehicle fixed in accordance to recall VA7 and VB1/NHTSA 19V-757. I am currently on 3 waiting lists from 3 different dealerships to get this safety recall fixed. I've been told by these dealerships that the parts aren't available. However, I contacted fca recall assistance and was told the parts are available. When I recontacted the dealerships with this information, I was told again they don't have the parts. It's been a year waiting for this recall to be fixed.
