This vehicle has a 3.0 eco diesel engine. Chrysler had a recall to update this engine which I had them do. Ever since the update there has been a long pause after pushing on the accelerator till the engine speeds up. This often times results in a dangerous situation when pulling out to merge into traffic. We live near a busy round about and when pushing on the gas to enter, nothing happens so you push down more, then all at once it takes off like a bullet and you hope you don't hit somebody. I have taken it back to the dealer more than once and they say they can't do anything to correct it. I have called the recall number at Ram and didn't get anywhere there either. The dealer said they get a lot of complaints about this but there is no fix. This is a dangerous situation.

After an emissions update was made to my vehicle without my permission on June 4, 2019, the throttle is unresponsive, the diesel exhaust regenertion system no longer functions and my fue economy has dropped over 10 mpg. It is out-of-service and undriveable. It has been at the dealership 4 times over the last 4 months, and has been there since August 1, 2019. I am being told there is no fix.

1. on 9/20 I received from fca dealer the recall update agreed to upon settlement with the epa. 2. while driving on 9/21 I was at a stop and needed to changed lanes. 3. when I depressed the accelerator the engine stalled and barely moved the vehicle for a couple of seconds before picking up and moving normally. 4. had another vehicle been on coming it could have created a potentially serious accident on a major road at a major intersection. 5. I hereby exert that the "fix" for the emissions by fca is now creating dangerous driving conditions for "owners" who have received this this recall "fix" 6. additionally it appears fuel mileage is also dropping about 5%-10% 7. researching on the internet I am finding that this is a common problem. 8. sometimes the cruise control functions sometimes it does not, I have repeatedly taken the vehicle in for this complaint but they say they cannot find any issue. 9. I would suggest that nhsta get vehicles before and after the "fix" and do substantial testing, as it is not 100% of the time and issue and may be hard to replicate. 10. overall performance of the vehicle seems to be affected - lower performance and less torque 11.if fuel mileage is down and performance is down I would suspect that emissions may actually be worse than prior to the "fix" being implemented.

After the recall, my Ram ecodiesel has no power at all, it is dangerous to drive until it gets up to operating temperature. Even then, it is very sluggish, sometimes dangerously slow like when turning left with on-coming traffic. This was not the case before the aem recall due to the emissions issue. While mine has not doe this, I am part of a group of additional owners, of which an alarming number have caught fire post aem recall. Also a very high number of engine failures. I am concerned there are major design flaws, and now this latest update simply makes it dangerous to drive.

I own a 2016 Ram 1500 eco diesel. I recently got a recall (V08 I believe) that greatly effected the throttle response and fuel mileage on my truck. I love on a bend on a state highway and it has become very dangerous for me to pull out of my driveway. When I press the throttle there is a good 5 second delay before the truck accelerates. This is a known problem as fca has notified dealers that they are aware of the issue. I know this because I took my truck back to the dealer to address these issues and that is the response they gave me. When I purchased this truck there were no acceleration issues and the fuel mileage was 4-5mpg greater before this computer update. Please facilitate a fix for this before I get hit leaving my house or turning onto any street.

V08 recall flash has made my truck more dangerous to drive. There is an extreme amount of lag from the engine and turbo while trying to accelerate. I am the second owner, bought on 7/24/19 and the truck has been in the shop twice already!

Eco diesel recall on emissions, and now have safety acceleration or "lack of" from a stop, fuel economy went way down and use of alot def, Ram is aware of it and have not fix check engine light has been on for past 4 months dealers reset and still comes back on, dealers can't fix and don't know how they stated wait for Dodge fca I was dealing with felicia us customer care case number [xxx] fca she had to cancel case instructed by her bosses because their is no fix. Consumer stated failed software was installed which made it unsafe to drive. I purchased my diesel 2016 Dodge laramie from dealership 6 months ago. On the sticker is stated I would get around 26 highway mileage and around 19 in city. I was actually getting this fuel mileage until I received a emission recall letter and took my vehile in to have a recall part replaced. Now I am only getting around 18 highway and 14 city since part was replaced. I have since taken it to 3 dealerships to have them find the problem and all they can say is that it must be the recalled part causing the lower fuel mileage. I feel like this is an injustice as I am not getting the sticker guaranteed mileage since recall was fixed. I would like this corrected

Dodge Ram 1500 2016 with 45,000 miles. I was driving with 3/4 tank of gas but fuel gauge suddenly read empty, fuel sensor failure warning, check engine light on, low fuel light on. I had to brake immediately thinking gasoline was leaking. It was a dangerous stop and I almost got hit by other cars. Luckily I only got minor scratch when trying to get out of the car as soon as possible. I searched through internet and surprisingly this issue has been so common so many years even with new truck models. Please make it a recall and don't let it roll into the new models.

This vehicle is a death trap, I purchased it certified used from a Ram dealer with 30K on it. It runs and drives fine but when it is cold and out of the blue it has complete dead pedal. The truck will not accelerate, it has almost no throttle response and it not safe to drive until its warm I have almost been hit several times, even a slow under powered moped would scoot faster than this truck when its not up to operating temp. This has all taken place after the emissions update done to the truck before predelivery. I had no idea it was going to drive like this I have banned family and friends from driving it. The dealership says it drives as it should "post update" the lack of pedal response is going to get someone killed. There are no engine codes, dealer says its fine and has an perfect maintenance history. Today it was a bit cooler outside than it has been in recent months, knowing the trucks characteristics I used remote start to warm it up. It ran for about 5 minutes before I left, I drove down about a 1000ft private road to a 4 lane divided highway that I pull out onto several times a day and have been for two decades. No cars were coming except a white Mazda about two firelanes away from me so more than enough room, I could have walked across the road. I pressed the pedal and thh truck fell on its face and topped out at 10 mph until I made it to the center median to complete my left turn. The vehicle has to move into the right lane to avoid hitting me, they were being abundantly cautious but this is not how a vehicle should respond to throttle input during warm up or not. It is a diesel and I have been driving them my whole life, I know their cold behavior and this vehicle is broken. Fca says its normal.

V08 aem recall performed on 6/4/19. Post recall, loss in fuel economy, reduced power especially when towing, and severe turbo lag lasting four to seven seconds. The severe turbo lag is causing unsafe conditions while driving vehicle. The lack of acceleration when the accelerator pedal is pressed is present when starting from a complete stop, as well as at varying travel speeds. It is especially dangerous when making left and right turns on city streets or when merging into highway traffic, because there is little to no acceleration of the vehicle, even under full throttle for between four and seven seconds. The lag is severe even at full operating temperatures above 200 degrees. These issues were not present in the vehicle prior to the V08/aem recall. The manufacturer has insisted that this is normal operation of the vehicle after the V08 aem recall, but the vehicle operated without these issues before the work was completed.

After an emissions recall was performed on eco diesel engine (ECM update) the engine has become terribly sluggish on initial takeoff. I can push the gas petal to the floor and nothing happens for several seconds. I feel that this is a safety concern because there is inconsistent engine performance that could cause an accident.

Fuel sensor failure. The sending unit which measures fuel level failed while in motion. Check engine light came on. The fuel tank had to be dropped to replace the sensor. A quick search of online forums revealed many have this issue. Without knowing how much fuel is in the tank, one could be left stranded.

Another Ram ecodiesel post-aem safety concern. Did the aem recall and instantly became a safety hazard in traffic. Extreme throttle lag of 4+ seconds, even if flooring it. Too many close calls to list myself and I don't let me wife drive unless absolutely necessary (it was supposed to be her truck!!). recall may be monetary and such but the issue is a safety problem and will result in much larger issues. I've worked as a risk management safety officer; this will lead to a bigger problem. Epa or not, this "aem fix" is wrong! please please please get involved and force a recall to fix the lack of throttle response on these vehicles. For what its worth, I found out that I am not eligible for any of the claim $$ because my truck was built in Canada. God bless the american Ram badge, huh!

The day I purchased this vehicle, literally on the drive home on the highway after signing the paperwork, the fuel gauge suddenly dropped to empty and the check engine light came on and the message center indicated a "fuel sensor fail".. I pulled over to the side of the road and as soon as I stopped, the gauge rose back to 3/4 tank and the issue didn't present itself again for a couple months. Now, every time I fill the tank, the fuel gauge drops to empty right about the time it should read 3/4 tank and starts working again at about 1/4 tank. There are so many other complaints spread out over so many model years, I can't understand how this hasn't generated a recall. I purchased this vehicle used with just over 36,000 miles on it. I now have just under 41,000 miles on the odometer and have no idea just how much fuel is in the vehicle.

My vehicle was part of a recent ecodiesel settlement that required a recall and re-flash of the vehicles ECM. Fca stated that the recall re-flash would not affect the vehicles performance. That is not the cash. My vehicle now has a severe throttle hesitation when starting from a stop. Pulling into or merging into existing traffic has become extremely dangerous. I have been experiencing this condition since the recall was completed.
