Error code P0463 - fuel level sending unit failure. Seems to happen to everyone right out of warranty... 40K miles, under 3 years old. Was driving on the highway when warning lights and the audible notification started going off. Low fuel warnings lit up too. Fuel level sending unit high voltage failure is the eventual message on the dashboard. It throws one off when that happens, took me a minute to realize that I didn't in fact have a fuel leak and did in fact have plenty of gas.

I was backing a pontoon boat while in 4WD low in soft mulch, I then stopped and switched back to 2wd. Once the electronic shifting was complete, the fuel sensor fail message appeared in the instrument cluster, the low fuel warning and the check engine light both illuminated. The fuel (gas) tank was about 3/4 full when this occurred. The vehicle had 60,054 miles on it. So far the vehicle continues to run as normal but the illuminated warnings are quite a distraction while driving.

The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. While adding fuel to the vehicle, the fuel pump nozzle became stuck in the fuel tank filler tube. The contact had to remove the nozzle from the fuel tank by twisting and pulling with force each time the fuel tank was filled in order to release the fuel pump nozzle. The contact spoke with victorville motors (14617 civic drive, victorville, ca 92394, (760) 733-8484), but the dealer stated that there was nothing for them to diagnose. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer to have the fuel tank inspected. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 100.

Our truck is two years old. We have 77,000 miles on it and the fuel sensor/pump went bad. It's no longer under warranty; however, a fuel pump should last more than 2 years and 77,000 miles. We fill up with fuel. Everything is fine until the needles hits the first line. We get a fuel sensor warning and the guage drops to empty. The truck runs fine. No hesitation of stalling. Wouldn't know anything was wrong except for the warning lights. Check engine light is on, too. According to Dodge, the two are related.

Truck shutdown while driving down highway @ 65 mph without any other symptoms. Had to coast to side of busy road. Service electronic throttle control flashed as well as the check engine light. The truck never stuttered or lost any power prior to this. Dealership states that it is bad diesel fuel. Replaced hpfp but truck will still not start. Chrysler has instructed dealer to replace entire fuel system. This has not been done yet because Chrysler will not warranty even though the truck is still under warranty.

I had a sudden loss of power and an abrupt deceleration while driving out of my development. The service electronic throttle control and check engine lights appeared on the dash. This happened on May 17, 2017 and some of the vehicles ecodiesel fuel injectors were replaced. 2000 miles later almost the same exact thing happened on July 14, 2017. Currently additional injectors are being replaced. I am thankful neither time was while driving at highway speeds on a busy road.
