Hello, I am wanting to file a complaint regarding my 2016 Ram 1500 Rebel. As of April 2025 my vehicle's Air Suspension system has been a Safety issue for me. I have noticed that the Service Air Suspension Immediatley, Service Air Suspension system messages have been displaying on my vehicle's dashboard. I took my vehicle into the Mac Haik Dodge in Temple, TX in April 2025 for a diagnosis and no repairs were completed. I then noticed once again in December 2025 that my vehicle was displaying the same dtc messages above. The vehicle once again was taken into the Mac Haik Dodge in Temple, TX for a diagnosis and it was recommended to have the Air Suspension Control module replaced to correct this issue. I paid to have this repair completed in January 2026. My vehicle was returned to me and I was advised that I would no longer have any further issues. As a result, in February 2026 3 weeks of having my vehicle back in my posession the same dtc messages were once again displaying on my vehicle's dashboard. My vehicle was brought to the Mac Haik Dodge in Temple, TX for another diagnosis and it was recommened to either have the Air Suspension compressor replaced or to completely remove the entire Air Suspension system and transition to a Coil / Springs conversion to prevent any further issues. My concerns are that due to not having my vehicle repaired correctly back in April 2025 and the ongoing issues I have experienced this is considered a Safety risk with operating a vehicle that has not been repaired correctly. I've driven my vehicle and have now experienced the Air Suspension drop completely in the rear of the vehicle causing a severe and bumpy type ride while driivng my vehicle to a place that the vehicle can be parked. I wanted to express my concenrs to NHTSA to see if this issue could be looked into further. I have noticed that several other Vehicle owners who's vehicles are equipped with the Air Suspension have experienced similiar issues with their vehicles.

The right front broken elbow is causing my entire rear end of truck to sag to near ground level, leaving the front up high. It is making for dangerous driving condition not only for the driver, but for others as well. Truck bottoms out on the slight bump on the highway making for unstable driving, front head light up high cause issues for other drivers in front of me. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes. Confirmed at Jim Click RAM, Tucson Auto mall, Tucson AZ. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? The vehicle has only been inspected by the dealership, but I am ready to go to my attorney, to get this fixed the right way. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear" This broken $10 part (elbow) is causing the computer system to list multiple error codes for the air suspension. The dealership is telling me they cannot find the part anywhere in the United States and is on back order. They refuse to use a third party part and it must be an official Mopar part or they will not fix my vehiclle. Meanwhile I have to drive to work every morning and this broken air suspension will eventually damage the rest of my vehicle the longer it waits to be repaired the right way. Like I said above I am ready to sit with my attorney to discuss the matter and to track the progress for resolving this issue.

The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving 55-60 MPH, the ABS warning light was illuminated, and the contact decelerated to 40 MPH and drove a mile. The contact stated that the passenger's side front end made an abnormal sound and collapsed, and the contact was able to coast to the side of the road. The contact then noticed that the front passenger's side tire had detached, the brake lines were leaking, and the front axle was fractured. And there was fire underneath the passenger's side front end of the vehicle. The fire was extinguished by the fire department. It was unknown whether a fire department report was filed. The police officers arrived at the scene, but it was unknown whether a report was filed. The vehicle was pulled to James Towing mechanic shop, where it was diagnosed that the front passenger's side wheel bearing had failed and caused the wheel to detach. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 185,000.

I bought this vehicle used and have had nothing but issues with the factory OEM Air Ride Suspension. Driving down any road, it will dump the air in the rear completely, sometimes it will dump the air on just the drivers side front and rear. I get dash warnings saying the air suspension is overheating and needs to cool. The local Dodge Dealer where I bought it knows about the problem and only advised me to replace it with aftermarket suspension. I bought an extended warranty and I personally believe they didn-??t want to warranty the suspension. It will cost me $4-5k to replace with an air delete kit and could be $5-10k for OEM parts depending on what all gets replaced. Now my warranty is expired and it-??s all on me. This is a safety problem and is a serious issue as there-??s thousands of these vehicles with this suspension system having issues. Dodge is completely aware of it and it needs to be on them, not the consumer.

Front suspension has completely bottomed out while the back is all the way raised making the truck sit awkwardly and drive extremely unstable and very roughly. You feel every bump on the road and hitting any kind of hole/bump will cause the truck to jerk. I definitely feel less safe driving this truck. Problem was identified by dealership and been an issue since I have owned it for 2+ years. Warning light has been on for most of the time I've had the vehicle included when I bought it and the dealership attempted to fix it.

I was driving on a blacktop road doing 60mph when I topped a hill and suddenly the road surface changed to mud and deep puddle of water, as I hit my brakes all the ABS BRAKE AND ANTI SKID LIGHTS on my dash lite up and the tires locked up and i slide almost sideways into a massive puddle of water at a very dangerous angle. The force of it was very difficult to steer my truck back straight to miss the bridge rails that was just yards ahead. Now the dodge dealership tells me the ABS BRAKE CONTROL MUDULE is under engineering review and can't be replaced because it's on back order. So for my safety I've parked it and bought a chevy. Will sell dodge when fixed if part recalled to make dodge fix it please.

The air suspension went out on my ram 1500, and i cannot drive the vehicle. This happened when I was on the highway, and it almost made crash. After the service suspension light came on, the truck was incredibly hard to control. I had the vehicle towed from Atlantic Expressway to my home. Now the truck doesn't move and is now stuck in the lowered position.

I purchased my vehicle 2 months ago and no problems were reported to me. After a few weeks my driver side air bags on my suspension do not inflate. Motor is making sounds and inflating passenger side, but not driver side. Parked truck with the following warning lights on dash (service air suspension & immediate air suspension service/repair required) began contacting dealers with no response back. Even called where it was purchased with no response back either. I was able to get in contact with a dealership and they reported the following: Air suspension compressor /valve block binds/sticks. My vehicle is the main transport for my family and the air suspension deflating while driving is a safety hazard and can cause serious damage if an accident is to occur.

My truck is equipped with an air suspension system. During winter weather when temperatures dropped in the low 20's and lower, the air system blows a fuse and drops the suspension to an unsafe position for driving. It has occurred several times including while driving. A warning message sometimes (but not always) a warning is flashed on the screen to have the truck serviced immediately. I have had to cancel important trips to the hospital for my disabled wife because the truck is not reliable during Wisconsin winter weather. My local dealer has inspected and assessed he problem. He has given me an estimate to replace the system but cannot assure me that it will not fail. I called RAM customer service to get a technical explanation of the air suspension problem and solution from the manufacturer who designed and manufactured the product. I called RAM customer service seeking an answer. I cannot justify spending $4000 on something than will not solve the problem. I was not told by the original dealer that I couldn-??t drive the truck in Wisconsin winters. There are many people complaining about this on RAM forums and other internet sites. This is obviously a problem and I need a truck that will be reliable to drive safely during winter.
