On 7/16/2021 I was driving my truck when with no warning at all it completely shut off and would not restart and would not let me take the key out. I had to call for a tow truck to pull me out of the drive thru I was stuck at and my truck is currently at my mechanics shop. I was fortunate that this incident took place while moving at a slow speed while in a drive thru at a restaurant. If this had taken place while driving on the freeway or in traffic, I believe I would most likely be dead right now, this was a total shutdown of my truck with absolutely no warning. I called the dealer to advise of the incident and ask if there were any known issues and they were quick to say that only 2018 dodge ram 1500 trucks had this issue and it had to be my battery. Both Triple AAA tow truck driver and mechanic shop that currently has my truck have confirmed that the battery is working perfectly and has no issues. I purchased my truck Oct of 2017 and I am worried that I might have a faulty computer system. Can someone please investigate this incident, I had my 15 yr old son in the truck with me and as I mentioned before if this had happened on the freeway at 75 mph and it completely shut down this same way, we most likely would have been in a major accident and injured and possibly killed. My mechanic spent the entire day trying to find the problem with the truck but is not able to obtain any error codes from the computer. It seems impossible that my truck can completely shut down with no warning, fail to start, fail to be able to remove the key fob from the ignition and yet there is no error showing in the system.

The vehicle worked fine one day. When I went outside the next morning to go to work, all power came on but the vehicle would not start, will not turn over, will not click. Tried to jump start and the same thing happens. I am Active Duty Army and deploying soon. We have a special needs daughter and my wife needs the vehicle to take my daughter to her therapies. The battery is in excellent working condition. Battery terminals are without corrosion and appear brand new.

The exhaust manifold bolt on the passenger side have broken off after 50,000 miles after normal wear and tear. Such has highway and city driving. This vehicle has never towed a trailer or overheated. This has caused exhaust fumes to enter the cab when vehicle in on and stopped at stop lights or other times when stopped and on. There is wiring close to the exhaust manifold and I-??m afraid the hot exhaust may cause the wiring to catch fire or melt while driving causing a catastrophic failure while driving. I-??m afraid for my life and others who have this issue.

The vehicle was stationary. Went to put the key in ignition and turn on. Truck would not start, not even turn. Tried jumping it and nothing worked. Having to get a whole new key ignition assembly done on it. Have read up on it and this has happened to many people. The truck won't lock or run. There are 83,000 miles on it and nothing prior to this has happened. The wheel will not turn or go into neutral. The lights inside do work so it is not the battery. Having to send to a mechanic and all parts have been ordered as they identified it was the ignition module that went out. He said it happens a lot to Dodge.

The passenger side exhaust manifold bolts are breaking. It is happening to many Ram truck owners and to some people it is happening more than 3 times. So when you start your very expensive truck it makes an awful loud ticking noise on the passenger side of engine due to exhaust bolts being broken on the manifold and hot exhaust leaking out. This noise usually happens with the first start of the day. But as more bolts continue to break the noise is there more and more.

This relates to VB1/NHTSA 19V-757. I was advised of this recall months ago by Ram, and repeatedly so, each time being told to promptly contact Ram and/or dealer to handle this "important safety recall" and that it was "extremely important to take steps now to repair your vehicle to ensure the safety of you and your passengers." I contacted local dealer multiple times over the past months (going back well into summer if not prior) and was advised that parts were not yet available. I called about two weeks ago to try again as my registration is due and in California there is requirement to show this type of recall is fixed in order to reregister. I set up appointment (through Ram and confirmed with dealer) and was just advised that part is still not available. It is evident that Ram (fca) is not taking this recall seriously or at least not seriously enough and is apparently content with endangering me, my family and my passengers, if in fact this recall is for a safety-related condition. Can you do something to see that this is being diligently pursued?

Trying to obtain a fix for the safety recall regarding the diesel egr cooler VB1 from October 2019 that has taken way too long. I have made multiple attempts to contact multiple Ram dealerships and the there is a wait list for the part. Meanwhile I continue to drive a truck that has the potential risk of fire to the occupants in my truck or my home. This is unacceptable and I ask that the ntmvsa push Ram to make this part available immediately or have them recall the truck entirely.

I bought this truck and brought it home and was going through everything and found out that the oil didnt even reach the dipstick and it took 4 quarts to fill it up. I then checked everything else and made sure it was fine. I drove the truck for the next 3 days on and off the interstate and highway driving. I was attempting to go to my dr.S office in cartersville, ga. And I was going about 55 mph down the road and suddenly the check engine light came on and the vehicle limped its way to a parking lot to which I shut it off and then started it back up and it seemed good enough to get it to the dealership there and they pulled codes and said that the oil pump isnt getting enough oil and it was less than a quart. It used up 4 quarts in that time. I cant trust this to goto Tennessee with this going on. Does anyone else have this problem? this is piss poor engineering on the part of fca to build a engine that uses that much oil and at $9 a quart ill be broke before the end of the month

Why driving my 2017 ecodiesel truck with 38,500 miles on it, on highway 80 about 55 to 60 miles per hour my truck lost power. My wife notice smoke coming from the back passenger side tire thats the same place my exhuast tail pipe is on this truck, my first thought was I over heated when I lost power but that was not the case my temp was 208 degrees. The truck was still running but with no power I managed to get it over the bridge put the truck in neutral and coasted to the stop light at the end of the off ramp, when we stop at the light smoke was coming out from underneath the hood amassing the truck still running I put though the enter section pulled over shut the truck off everyone got out of the truck smoke pouring out from under the hood and fender wells, called 911. The truck is a total lose. With fca having a recall on the egr cooler an no fix this is a problem. In the recall it states if the egr cooler fails it could cause a fire.

I own subject 2017 Ram ed truck. Oct 25, 2019, fca issued a new safety recall advance communication re the eco diesel VB1 recall matter. December 2019, I received my first communication from fca on VB1. May 2020 I received a second letter on VB1, imploring me to take my truck a dealer and obtain the repair.I have been in contact with several dealers to obtain the repairs, and they advised me that they do not have parts available to do the repair. Most recent dealer contact was late July, 2020. I have not received any notice from fca, as promised that the remedy is available. Fca has put me in a position of risking an engine fire every time I use the truck, I can not sell the truck to a dealer due to the outstanding recall, and am at risk of cal dmv declining the license plate renewal in December this year. This unreasonably slow response by fca to this serious issue is immoral and unconsionable. Please demand immediate action of fca to provide all the parts to their dealer network to fix this problem. I am using this truck nly when absolutely necessary, and am blocked from selling the truck.

I have received 2 safety recall letters concerning the diesel egr cooler on my 2017 Ram 1500. I have called multiple dealers and they all have the same answer. We can't schedule any repair because we are not able to order the part. In a conversation with fca recall assistance they acknowledge that the dealers are restricted on the number of parts they can order. This is not a new recall and fcas lack of responding over the course of 6 months is just plain wrong. Why issue a recall if they can't and won't provide the parts? no help given by the fca assistance staff. "we can't do anything"

June 1st, was driving on the highway at approx. 65mph, the truck started to make a loud noise, reved real high, then lost all power and low oil pressure message came on. At the time of the incident the truck had around 57,000 miles on it. Truck was dead on the side of the highway. It was towed to grieger's Ram (valparaiso, in) where is start for over a month without being looked at and no rental was offered. The vehicle was then towed to david taylor's Ram (Michigan city, in) where it was looked at within a few days. They deemed that it needed a new engine due to internal engine failure. The new engine has been ordered but will not be here until at least September.

This is a known recurring issue on Dodge Ram. On the right side of the motor the bolts holding the exhaust manifold to the head snap off and create an exhaust leak. This is a safety issue due to possible asphyxiation! I called in to register a complaint and I don't think it was coded as a safety issue! Dodge continues to ignore the problem and make consumers pay. This started 5-6 years ago when they downsized the bolt.

We have a recall from last year that they say they have no idea when or if it will or can be fixed on our 2017 Ram 1500 eco diesel due to the safety hazard (fire/explosion) of this recall and that they have had plenty of time to fix it, we asked for a loaner vehicle until ours could be fixed. The dealer refused. Since it's been at least 6 months with no repair in sight, we decided to trade it in on a new Ram. The dealer offered us $12,000 less than we still owe on the recalled Ram due to the recall that can't be fixed! we are stuck paying for a dangerous lemon and believe they should be made to buy it back for what we still owe. Please help!!

My truck, 2017 Ram 1500 ecodesiel, has been loosing coolant and I located the recall on the egr cooler, NHTSA recall 19V-757. On 3/31/2020, I contacted glockner Dodge dealer in ashland ky. They told me the recall was a computer flash update and they would not replace the egr cooler. I then contacted fca us, recall department after I spoke to the dealership. Told her the issue I was having and was told, if I was having egr cooler issues the dealership could repair and/or replace in accordance with the recall. Then she told me to get my truck to a dealership to have them look at it. I contacted pure country dealership in grayson ky. I took my truck to them on 4/1/2020 at 0900. End result, receipt shows no external leaks found but may be related to recall. However, I'm told that a replacement part is not available. I contacted fca us, recall department again. Now I'm told that there is no replacement part available and they don't know why the previous rep told me that the dealership could fix it. They say my claim is submitted to a specialist for review. My fca us claim number IS76030552. 1) why have a recall if it cannot be fixed? 2) it has been approximately 6 months since the recall was issues, and still no viable solution to the problem? 3) fca us admits that vehicle fire can occur due to egr defect. So I'm driving around, what a time bomb. 4) who is responsible if a fire would occur and my children are injured? 5) apparently, fca us sold vehicles to us customers that they cannot fix. 6) how long will NHTSA permit these vehicles to be on the road, safety hazard of fires" or how long will NHTSA give fca us to fix the issue? is it optional for fca us to comply with the recall or not"
