The cruse control comes one when it wants to this is an intermittent problem and gives no warnings it has happened several times since we bought the truck

The NTSB requires that the manufacturer install ABS and SRS systems on the vehicle. The manufacturer is having issues supplying repair parts, the Anti Lock Break Control module is on national back order with no idea of when it will be available. This is a serious safety issue and someone needs to review and determine if this can be corrected. I as well as many other vehicles are on the road without this important safety feature.

While driving the vehicle, the cruise control disengages, the traction control light comes on, and the ABS light comes on along with a warning bell dinging incessantly! It may stay like this for hundreds of miles or may be intermittent. Sometimes I can restart the vehicle and it will reset and sometimes it won-??t. I haven-??t been able to replicate it for the dealership-??although it-??s been occurring for over a year now. Driving conditions don-??t seem to make any difference as a cause. Wet, dry, smooth, or bumpy roads-??it-??s all the same.

Vehicle is a 2017 RAM 3.0L ECO-DIESEL. Vehicle's electronic throttle control service light came on. Vehicle was taken to dealership for diagnostic. Safety recall 66A/NHTSA 23V-411 was performed for software. Transmission was diagnosed with a bad Tone Wheel (RAM recall X94-Warranty Extension. Applies to RAM vehicles built on or after June 13, 2014 and on or before March 26, 2018 equipped with a 3.0L Turbo Diesel Engine). My vehicle is the make, type, model, and engine specific vehicle, however; it does not meet the VIN specificity for the X94 extended warranty coverage. I would like to know why.

Brake, ABS and traction control lights all came on and according to Dodge Dealer the cause is the ABS ECU control module and /or ABS hydraulic system. Dodge indicated ECU Control Module is on backorder pending engineering review so it does not make sense to replace only the hydraulic unit without replacing the ECU Module., They say it is safe to drive, however ABS, traction control, and cruise control will not operate.

Part# 68295368AC ABS control module failed about 3 months ago. Took to dealership to repair and they said no eta on when part will arrive and that there is a national shortage on the part and 100's of these are waiting to come in for repairs. Contact Dodge/Ram and basically told the same thing. Was told to just be careful and when part is available (no estimated ETA), they would let me know. This is same components being used in new vehicles currently being built but RAM is okay with "just being careful" on not having a government mandated safety feature since 2011. I offered to go and get the part on my own and no response to that option either. Ram knows this is a safety issue and is burying their head in the sand. My family safety and safety of others on the road is important to me. This lets just use them to build new vehicles and let's not worry about the safety of the public worries me.

Driving approx. 45 mph when truck lost acceleration. Truck began making clanking sound and check engine light came on and electronic throttle control light. Almost got into an accident due to someone almost rear ending me and then had to coast into a parking lot when I lost total control of all steering and almost hit a parked car. Truck would not restart, had to call for a tow back home that was 150+ miles because no dealerships close by would accept vehicle or had availability. Truck taken to local Dodge dealership and diagnosed with high pressure fuel pump failure and the eta for parts for a fix are unknown at the time. Have been without a truck or car for 2 weeks now, have 4 kids and both me and my wife work full time and now only have 1 car to get around in because the truck had to be diagnosed first before a rental could be granted, if they even give me one. Still waiting to hear back about getting a rental and been 2 weeks without a truck.

While in gear the throttle has accelerated uncontrollably without a foot on the pedal. It has happened twice now and both times resulted in significant damage. Applying the brake made no difference they were just overpowered by the motor. The vehicle is going to be towed to a body shop to get a repair estimate. Last time the damage was about $14,000. The vehicle is not safe if you cannot control the speed. They thought last time my foot slipped of the brake onto the throttle but I said no it had not. I was to busy trying to control the truck to notice if any warning lights went on. However earlier in the day the cruise control would not turn on.

In two occasions, the vehicle speed locked on and the vehicle began accelerating out of control. The dash message lit up stating electronic throttle control service. A quick internet search shows it is a common problem. I know many ram owners who have the exhaust manifolds break repeatedly. Both are severe problems.

For the second time in about a year my truck has given the error code of "service electronic throttle control." I took it in and was told it was a computer update and it was fixed. Right at about a year later, the same error code appeared. With this error, power to the vehicle is reduced causing safety issues as your ability to maintain speed or accelerate is greatly diminished. I do not know if the part itself was inspected during the original service and computer update. There were no warning lamps or symptoms prior to the error message coming up on the instrument cluster.

Cruise control won't turn on and buttons related to cruise control are unresponsive. Last time it did work about a month ago the cruise control wouldn't turn off with the steering wheel button, had to hit the brakes. Vehicle had all recalls done, there was one related to the cruise control. Fixed one thing now all these other things are happening. That's my only complaint, there definitely needs to be another recall for this.

Cruise control system disengaging during freeway operation. When attempting to re-enable cruise control system, vehicle shows cruise control system still active. Cruise control system must be deactivated to re-enable cruise control. The slowing force was so noticeable, it almost felt like the truck was applying brakes, or trans brake. This issue has occurred 3-4 times withing the past week.

Coasted out of a car wash; engine on, transmission in neutral. After exiting the wash, I applied the brakes and shifted from neutral into drive. The truck accelerated out of control and would not brake. I was able to avoid pedestrians, gas pumps, and the store entrance. I was forced to crash the vehicle against a building to get it to stop. The truck was totaled with heavy front end damage; however, the air bags did not deploy. When I returned home, there as an email from the vehicle's onboard health monitoring system saying that an issue was detected with the air bags, which may not deploy. The email was issued at the time of the accident.

Despite recall U61/NHTSA 18V-332 being completed on my pickup- on 7/23/2018 I was southbound on interstate 29 between St.joseph and Kansas City mo the morning of October 31, 2019. We had snow, freezing precipitation, etc the eve before and driving was tenuous at best. With my cruise control set at approximately 55 miles per hour traffic began to suddenly slow due to numerous slide offs and accidents. I tapped my brake to slow and disengage the cruise control- and the immediate response was for the engine to rev and increase RPM, S to maintain speed. Constant attempts to brake and over ride were unsuccessful. I deemed it impossible for the brakes to stop my vehicle! a red warning light "brake" appeared on the dash along with a few lines of message which I could not read due to keeping my eyes on the road. I somehow managed the thought process of turning the gear shift knob to the neutral position and was just barely able to get stopped before smashing into the vehicle's in front of me. The dealer who supposedly performed my recall of reprogramming the powertrain control module is tri state Dodge in maryville mo 64468. They scheduled an appointment to hook my truck to the computer to try and determine what hppened on 11/7/2019

Returning from a trip to mi back to my residence in tn. As I made a turn into my subdivision I started to accelerate to my next turn when I experienced a sudden acceleration of my vehicle. I had been using the vehicles cruise control as much as possible during the 10 hour drive home so it felt familiar, like the cruise control was trying to accelerate my vehicle. As the vehicle was accelerating and I was steering the through the curves in the road I had removed my foot from the gas pedal and tried hitting the cruise control off button several times. This had no effect in stopping or slowing the acceleration. The total distance from my turn into the subdivision to the end of the road or next intersection was roughly 250-300 yards all downhill so we picked up speed quickly. By the time I realized I could not effect or slow down the acceleration by shutting off the cruise control my next thought was to hit the brakes but we had run out of road. At this point I chose a direction where I saw no houses or large trees. We hit an area where it sloped up about 30 degrees then flattened out then sloped up again coming closer to other houses. I'm guessing we were traveling about 50-55 mph when I went off the road. We finally came to a stop after hitting both slopes and the closest houses back yard deck and then into a tree. I had my family in the vehicle with me; my wife, two sons and daughter. One of my sons was taken to the hospital via ambulance for back pain and a cut above his eye which required 8-9 stitches. The rest of my family were checked out with no injuries to speak of at that time. Only at the hospital I learned of the recall for the cruise control and an explanation of the cause and effect it had. The recall explanation fit verbatim to what happened to us. We had not received any notification for the recall on this vehicle or the other Dodge vehicle we own.

The local dealer (larry H. miller Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram boise, 222 auto dr., boise, id) informed the contact that the parts needed to repair the recall were not available. The manufacturer was not notified. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

Sometimes the truck won't recognize the key fobs. Truck instrument panel will continue to display key fob has left the vechile and the chime continue to sound even tho I have the key fob in my possession. I can put the vechile in gear and drive but instrument panel will continue to display key fob has left the vechile and the chime won't stop sounding. (I have videos and pictures of this issue). Also when I used the speed control at a steady speed and than use the cruise control to reduce the speed when I come to a complete stop and press the gas pedal again the transmission shift differently. The transmission delay shifting engagement. (there was a recall on my vechile for the cruise control and at the moment my truck is in the dealer getting the recall done, transmission shifting problem looked at and getting the key fob electrical problem fix. Dealer tech is trying to fix the problem. A request was made to corporate engineers for assistants fixing the problem. Dealer and engineers are working together trying to figured the key fob problem.vechicle mileage approximately 11400.
