Every day when driving the truck for the first time. Truck has sat for more than 5 hours and is cool (70 degrees) as I leave my community driiving 25 mph, I stop at the first stop sign. During slowing down to a stop the transmission downshifts and surges forward. Many times during this surge the transmission goes into neutral and the screen instructs me to shift into park and then back in to drive. It makes it dangerous if there is traffic behind me. The truck always surges when stopping and pops out of gear at least twice a week. Dealership said they addressed by updating drive train software. Since repair it has happened again and dealer insists they can't replicate. I have provided a video showing the truck popping out of gear at a stop sigh. The site will not allow me to upload the video but I can provide if requested.

On three separate occasions the vehicle power steering stopped working. One event was while driving the vehicle at highway approved speed on the interstate when the vehicle's power steering stopped operating suddenly in heavy traffic on a curve. The vehicle was extremely difficult to manually steer to a safe location in traffic. Next two events happened at the start of the day shortly after starting the vehicle's engine. A message is displayed on the panel "service power steering". there is no power steering functioning when this error is displayed. With each event the nearby service center for the manufacturer has needed to keep the vehicle multiple days to work with the manufacturer on a solution. On another issue the vehicle was unable to drive forward or reverse on first delivery (within 100 miles) and again around 2500 miles. The transmission would not go into gear and needed the service center to reprogram the transmission to make it work.

While stopped at a red light vehicle started accelerating while break peddle was engaged. Vehicle continue accelerating with heavy break paddle application. Acceleration continued to the point of tire screeching and smoking moving vehicle into intersection. Vehicle was stopped by shifting into neutral and shutting off vehicle. Vehicle would not restart till third attempt. Vehicle was then moved to safe location and towed to dealer. Vehicle has been in shop for 6 days with no resolution. Incident occurred in a downtown location with heavy vehicle, pedestrian, and bicycle traffic. Had it been as less experienced or less attentive drive this incident could have proved fatal. I will not be driving this vehicle until issue is identified and a solution provided. Vehicle is two months old with less than 5000 miles. Consumer stated dealership could not find any problems with the vehicle.

When slowing down from a higher speed to coasting (let off gas let slow down), I have a harsh vibration/noise coming from the rear end, to the point it shakes the seats, console, and even the door panels. The vibration does not last but a couple of seconds at a time usually a speed or two. Took to the dealer they replaced the vibration actuators on the vehicle (no change), replaced the carrier in the rear diff (no change) took back to dealer but have been being blown off. The vibration can happen on any street at any time, when ever it feels like doing it. No one at my dealer seems to know how to fix it so they keep saying can not duplicate it when multiple have duplicated it. I have audio files but can not attach them to this page

I have made several attempts to get this vehicle repaired after receiving this recall notification. V61/NHTSA 19V-407at this incompetent dealership crowley Chrysler Jeep in bristol ct. I called the recall notification hotline on 26 September 2019 and made the appointment for 30 Oct 2019 only to have an incompetence and unprofessional person call me on 29 October 2029 at the end of the business day saying that they were canceling my appointment. I am so F'ing pissed about this crap and really at the point of contacting daimler Chrysler to file a lawsuit and have them take back the truck. My regrets are many at this point I just want answers and to be treated with some measurecof respect. This vehicle has been sitting in the drive way beacsue I dont know the level or how how unsafe it may be to drive. No one has told me anything about the [xxx] recall.. I have retained an attorney in the event this issue is not resoved before December 2019. Parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

During normal driving of vehicle when coming to a complete stop, releasing the brake without applying any gas will produce a "bump" or a slight "jerking" forward. This does not happen every time but has been happing since purchase of the vehicle. I have taken the vehicle in many times to remedy the situation that included, updating of software as well as the replacement of the entire transmission which still has had no effect. There are numerous customers that have documented this very issue with the Ram product that include many years/models however it seems that this very issue has not been resolved nor does it seem like it will be resolved any time soon. Manufacture refused buy back or trade in for unknown reasons.

#1 complaint- the panoramic sunroof sounds like it isn't fully shut when at higher speeds (80+) and whenever there are crosswinds. I took it to the dealer and they said they currently have three other customers with the same complaint and that there wasn't a fix currently. #2 complaint- a clip to the sliding rear window to the bed of the truck (picture provided) has broken twice by just opening up the window from the drivers seat. Took it to the dealer the first time and it was fixed. Not even a week later, the same part broke a second time. Will be taking it back into the dealer soon. #3 complaint- there's a clunking noise coming from the front left suspension area when certain sized bumps or holes are hit while driving at lower speeds. I took it into the dealer and they said that's a know problem, but that there wasn't a fix currently.

The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. After the vehicle had been parked for a while, it was unable to restart. The contact stated that after several attempts the vehicle was started, but it independently switched back from drive into park. The vehicle was towed to lithia Chrysler Jeep Dodge of twin falls (1310 pole line rd E, twin falls, id 83301, (208) 293-8571) to be diagnosed, but the mechanic was unable to retrieve a fault code or provide a prognosis for the vehicle. The manufacturer was contacted and informed of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 110. The VIN was invalid.

2019 Ram with 13,000 miles. After my first engine oil change at 10,000 miles conducted by the Ram dealership. During normal driving conditions in the street and in the highway while in motion I feel the transmission slipping, like it takes a couple of seconds to fully engage. The truck is new and is happening daily. I feel that this is a manufacture defect that needs to be remedied immediately.

I feel a knocking sensation either when I apply the brakes or gas after driving the vehicle. In my opinion, it feels like either the transmission or drive shaft are slipping. This happens almost every time I drive the vehicle in the city and usually when stopping at a red light or sign.

Driving in city traffic 45mph and lost power with engine running and raced up but truck wouldn't move. I coasted into center lane and put my emergency flashers on, waited for rpms to go down about a minute then tried to accelerate into a lane and the trucked raced up but barely moved. I coasted into turning lane and into parking lot, shut off vehicle and waited 5 minutes and restarted and truck was driving normally the next 5 miles to my house.

I had just finished pumping gas and turned on my truck and shifted from park to drive. When I did this, nothing happened. I thought maybe I didn't turn the truck on so I pressed the push start button and turned off. Turned it on again and shifted from P to D and still nothing. Still in D I very lightly pressed the gas pedal and the truck jolted forward. This happened to me on two separate occasions. I'm not a mechanic but from what I have read, other people with same truck have had this problem and it seems to be the electronic gearbox. I have also heard a noise every time I press the brake that comes from the electronic gearbox and also a noise that comes from the brake pedal itself that sounds like sparks. My truck has under 400 miles as I write this on 07/04/2019. Have had it less than 10 days.

On a brand new 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 with less than 200 miles on it, when shifting from park to drive, with the truck stationary, the transmission does not engage right away, but suddenly engages at 1,000 or higher RPM and rapidly lunges forward. This is an electronic shift transmission so it appears that despite the vehicle shift indicators both showing the truck is in "drive" and ready to move forward, it is not actually safely ready to move forward. This is extremely dangerous since the sudden lunging of the truck makes it very difficult to control and could easily cause serious injury or death in any crowded area, such as a parking lot or urban street.

  • 1,180 miles
Enterprise rental - while driving on a busy city freeway, the pick up truck lost all it's speed as if transmission switched from (drive) to (neutral). This occurred at approximately 1,180 miles (odometer), as I was driving on the left lane (fast lane) going around 75/80 mph the vehicle's rpms sped up to 5000/6000 while the speedometer show the vehicle slowing down as the pick up truck lost it's speed. I immediately turned my emergency lights on as I attempted to pull over onto the left shoulder. I also promptly realized that the rpms were as high due to my foot still resting on the accelerator, I also checked that the pick up truck's gear was still lit up as (drive) - and I confirmed that it still was, but the pick up truck was not responding. After coming to a complete stop the pick up truck was placed in (park) and no warning messages/lights lit up (before/during/after incident). As I the pick up truk was still running in (park) I turned off the (a) button located below the gear knob (autostop mode) just in case that might have prompted this (highly unlikely but - just in case). After inspecting all gagues in dashboard (engine temp/battery/transmission oil temp etc) all ok, the pick up truck was placed in (drive) gear after, the pick up truck responded to the gas pedal's input (normally). Outside temperature was around 100 degrees (F), prior to incident pick up truck had been parked for 6hrs in the sun; incident occurred after driving through a 1- 1 1/2 inch raised concrete bump (on the freeway, typical in Texas). Pick up truck had been driven approximately 1000 miles in the last 2 days (highway miles).

When I try to put my new truck in gear (stationary) the transmission seems not to slide into drive and the truck just sits there. I've checked the brakes and al the digital stuff and nothing is holding the truck back, it's just not clicking into gear. Then, when I apply a little pressure to the accelerator, the engine revs up a bit and the truck lurches into gear. Sometimes, it's hard to know when the surge/lurch is coming, hin I have makes this a very dangerous situation. The engine is running and the trucks shows that it's in gear, so it's natural to hit the gas and go. The lag and lurch is hard to detect until the whole vehicle convulses. This could absolutely cause someone to lose control of the vehicle and hit something or someone. I've also read a series of comments online from other owners who are experiencing the same failure. So, Ram needs to do something systematic or this will hurt someone someday...

Vehicle occasionally sticks in park when you put it in drive. It releases when the rpms raise enough to overpower what is hanging. This causes the vehicle to lunge forward once whatever is hanging it is overpowered by the input RPM's, the natural response when you put it in drive is to hit the gas. If you are not expecting this to happen, you can imagine the potential result. At least one person (many have had this happen) has claimed that it occurred in his garage while his wife was crossing in front of the vehicle nearly pinning her between the vehicle and the garage. Problem happens under random circumstances with no apparent pattern and cannot be made to happen on command, in many cases the dealership will not fix anything because they cannot get the problem to occur in their presence. I personally video'd it happening and showed to to the service manager. They had the vehicle for one week and were unable to reproduce the problem. I picked the vehicle up and the problem occurred 5 minutes later. I called the service manager while it was happening and he came to my location and witnessed the issue first hand. He will advise in the coming days as to the plan for resolution. The video can me found here: Https://M.youtube.com/watch?V=mwl4xffhoky
