Started smelling fuel in the cab followed by fuel leaking while driving. Vehicle is smoking from the amount of fuel that is leaking. The entire under carriage is covered in fuel. This is due to a faulty injector line and # 6 injector tube. This could potentially cause a fire and death.

The vehicle has serious issues with it's emissions system. First the egr was replaced at a dealership for $2,000 and they must not have reprogrammed the computer because after the installation the entire exhaust system failed and it went into limp mode at 10 mph and now it is another $7,000 repair. Dodge should be recalling this truck for emissions system problems since it's apparently a known issue.

Vehicle has an accelerator lag when pushing down fast on the throttle. In circumstances where you need the vehicle to respond quickly in order to avoid another vehicle the accelerator lags for 1 to 3 seconds before responding. This occurred while in very slow motion crossing a city street. Was turning across tracfic where vehicles were coming over a hill.

The truck is a CNG model and the CNG regulator has failed. The truck will not run on CNG without replacing the $1800 part. The regulator emits the natural gas into open air that can be smelled in the cab.

Drove for about 17 miles and parked at a store. Within 5 minutes of parking the truck, white smoke could be seen coming from the hood on the passenger side. As I approached the truck flames came out from under the hood in the same area. Grabbed a fire extinguisher and returned within one minute to find entire engine compartment in flames. Unable to open the hood so the fire extinguisher was not much good. Fire department arrived within 5 minutes but it was too late. Insurance company took possession of the truck and totaled it. Unknown if it was ever determined what caused the fire. Updated 7/26/18

Water in fuel light comes on for no reason, known defect with wiring/sensor. Could leave you disabled on roadway. Engine warranty requires you to stop and have it checked or could void warranty. They have service bulletins. Needs to be a full recall for the defective parts

This truck has a very capable motor. However, the electronics governing the motor have made it unsafe. When you floor the gas pedal (and really need the truck to move for safety, to clear an intersection or merge) there is no response. Knowing trucks like I do, this vehicle should have more than enough power to move swiftly but instead it just crawls due to electronic regulation on the motor. This is a huge safety concern.

When I accelerate there is a lag. This is from a stop or while applying the accelerator, and pushing it more to pass or merge. Also this lag at any speed seems to make the truck lunge, and it feels like it may be shifting wrong.

Vehicle has high delay time when accelerating to full throttle. There is a 2-4 second delay when depressing the pedal to full throttle before the engine responds. This is a major safety concern when entering an intersection or merging into high speed traffic. I feel as though this much lag time is excessive and needs to be addressed as it is a matter of time before this results in an accident.

After letting up on the accelerator for a moment, then attempting to accelerate, there is no throttle response for 1-2 seconds. In conditions such as changing lanes into faster traffic, or pulling out into traffic from a slow roll, the vehicle decelerates or fails to accelerate, causing a hazard to oncoming traffic. This issue is easily demonstrated while driving by momentarily removing your foot from the accelerator pedal, then immediately attempting rapid acceleration as if pulling into a faster moving lane of traffic. This "dead pedal" behavior has been well documented by numerous owners of late model Ram 2500/3500 with cummins diesel engines.

When accelerating from a dead stop there is about a 3-5 second lag before I gain any speed. This is very dangerous as I have to plan ahead before I drive. If I make a mistake it could cause a severe accident.

Accelerated onto highway entrance ramp and vehicle continued to accelerate on its own up to 80+ mph. Required hard breaking to get vehicle under control since the electronic ignition will not allow it to be turned off unless the transmission is in park. Required such heavy braking that brakes smoked for several minutes once vehicle was shut down. This incident would have resulted in serious injury and damage if it occurred on city streets. Truck is a 2014 with 10650 miles on it. Vehicle was towed to dealer for repair. Searches on the internet revealed the occurrence of many incidents with Dodge and Ram electronic throttle controls and I'm surprised none have been reported to the national highway transportation safety administration.

When I start from a dead stop or when pulling out in traffic and have to let off the accelerator and then immediately accelerate again. The engine will stall almost to the point that the truck stops. It has stalled to the point that on coming traffic has had to stop or hit me. I have taken it to the dealership, they kept it several days. And they said the engineers at Chrysler said nothing is wrong with it. But the service tech rode around town with me wanting to see what was going on. It done it every time, he told me that he had never seen or heard of that. And that the stall was extremely dangerous and he couldn't see why the engineers at Chrysler wouldn't try to at least come down and take a look for themselves. He said that the problem would get someone hurt or even killed. I went as far as to talk to a cummings specialist with cummings and he told me the computer in the truck was bad, and if they would replace it, that the problem would go away. I talked to the service dept at the dealership and told them. They relayed the info to their engineers and they said if I wanted to buy a new computer for my truck they would sale me one. But they could not find any reason to replace it and that the stall was a bogus claim and if I didn't like the way my truck acted, then I needed to buy another one. Really pissed me off. So I did go and pick another truck because of this. And when it came down to the final price, the dealership was going to charge me $3000 for a new computer. They said it would need to be replaced. So a truck with less than 10K on it and a full warranty means nothing to them. So I still have the truck and it still has the same stall and it has almost cause me to get hit at least 5-6 times a week. It has gotten to the point that I anticipate it and can keep out of traffic. Most of the time.

While accelerating from a stop or driving at slower speeds, releasing and then re applying the accelerator, there is a few second delay before the engine will respond. Its not usually a big deal but if there comes a time when quick thinking and a heavy foot can get you out of a bind, it wont happen. The "dead pedal" delay is ugly and has potential to cause problems for drivers.

When accelerating then letting off accelerator for a brief moment then trying to re-accelerate there is no response / dead pedal delay for 2 seconds then the truck will accelerate. The contact owns a 2014 Dodge Ram 2500. The contact received a notice for NHTSA campaign number: 14V635000 (engine and engine cooling, fuel system, diesel); however, the parts needed for repair were unavailable. While waiting at a traffic light, fuel fumes emitted into the vehicle. The failure recurred intermittently. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 3,000.
