The contact owns a 2017 Ram 2500. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 18V486000 (structure, latches/locks/linkages). The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. While driving various speeds, the tailgate fell down on more than one occasion. In other cases, the contact stated that the tailgate would not open. Mount airy Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Fiat (538 N andy griffith parkway, mount airy, North Carolina 27030, (336) 789-8105) was made aware of the recall and the series of failures. The dealer stated that the parts were unavailable. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures. The failure mileage was approximately 10,100. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
