This issue was repaired by the dealer one year ago and it has happened again, they tried to charge me by pretending they didnt know about the previous repair. the internet is full with the exact same complaint and how is this not a recall to hold them accountable"? the service electronic brake system and ABS lights come on and off each time making annoying noises. when the lights are on the 4x4, cruise control and other items will not engage. the dealer agreed to repair it but told me to call in 5 months to see IFFFF any parts are available this not only shows its a wide spread problem but their incompetency to fix it. how do I know the second module they replace wont malfunction as well??"

At 30,076 miles, I began to receive 2 warning notifications in the truck-??s instrument panel: -??Service Electronic Braking System-?? and an amber ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) warning light. Both warnings include a loud audible warming when they illuminate, appear when driving the truck, but seem completely random in nature. Either or both notifications illuminate and the warning lights stay on for as little as a few seconds to as long as a minute. The frequency of the audible and visual warning lights is also random. On some driving trips, they may appear up to 6-7 times each minute. On other trips they may occur 2-3 times over several miles/minutes. driving/stopping on wet pavement could be problematic because the ABS, Cruise control, and built-in trailer brake controller ALL stop working when the warning lights come on. If hauling a very heavy trailer, and the trailer brake controller fails, then this could cause a fatal condition for not only the driver of the truck, but all those in the vicinity should a sudden slow down or stop be needed.

The truck went into -??limp mode-?? while driving about 60mph which jerked really hard and almost made me lose control of the truck. I took it to the dealer which cost me $2,000 for a transmission solenoid.

ABS malfunction indicator lamp, service ABS system and service electronic braking system message intermittently coming on. Sometimes for a short period of time and sometimes stay on for entire trip. Causes cruise control and traction control to be immobilized. My safety is at risk due to the ABS and traction control not being functional. I have not had it diagnosed by a dealer yet, however there are hundreds if not thousands of people on Ram forums complaining of the same issues without Ram taking care of the fix and the costs are on the vehicle owners. Its not something like a radio is having issues, its the braking system, which I would think that RAM or FCA and the NHTSA would think is a pretty serious problem with these vehicles.

After approximately 8K miles my 2017 Ram 2500 intermittently had the traction control light and ABS light illuminate. At first it would only temporarily flicker and chime, bventually the code/lights remained in the system. When this occurs cruise control is not available. I'm not sure if the ABS or traction control systems operate. After multiple visits to the dealership the issue was located and the ABS module and hydraulic motor control were replaced. Everything has operated properly until the last couple weeks, which is 2 years and 3 months later, with 19.8K miles. After starting the truck and letting off the brake the ABS/traction control lights flashed and then it didn't reoccur for several days. Then as time went on and bumpier roads were encountered it would happen more frequently, sometimes several times per minute. This felt exactly like what I had experienced previously. Then it was back to the dealer where the code was traced to C0020 - ABS pump motor control - general electrical failure. So again, the ABS module and hydraulic motor control needed replacement. After a handful of miles things are back to normal.

My 2017 Ram 2500 had 55K miles when I got a dashboard warning indicating that service of my electronic braking system was needed. I also got warning indicators for ABS and traction control. I had poor braking, no traction control and no cruise control when these warning lights were lit. The dealer diagnosed and replaced the ABS hydraulic control unit (hcu), costing me $750. My research reveals that this is a common problem with this truck at various levels of mileage, and Ram/fca has restricted the distribution of the hcus in recognition of this problem. Ram refuses to acknowledge that this is a product defect. I've owned many other brands of vehicles (BMW, Toyota, Honda), with varying levels of mileage, and none of them have every experienced a failure in ABS components. Ram/fca should acknowledge that these components have a manufacturer's defect and reimburse clients who paid to have the parts replaced.

The contact owns a 2017 Ram 2500. The contact stated that while her husband was driving at about 75 mph, on cruise control and accelerated to overtake another vehicle, the throttle stuck without warning. He managed to pull the vehicle to the side and putting it in neutral, and was able to stop the vehicle. The contact stated that too much pressure was put on the brakes and caused the front and rear brakes to burn amid heavy smoke. The vehicle was towed to the larry H. miller Jeep dealer (8525 lomas blvd ne, albuquerque, nm 87110) where it was diagnosed that oil was overfilled and got into the crankcase. The technician cleaned the crankcase, installed new rotors and brake pads. The contact was informed about the recall, NHTSA campaign number: 18V332000 (electrical system, vehicle speed control) by an independent mechanic. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure the vehicle was repaired except the cruse control. The failure mileage was 48,630.

The throttle is not responding. It is accelerating on its own. During regular driving the vehicle accelerates on its own. This happens at all speeds. And continued to accelerate during braking. In addition there are 2 potentially life threatening recalls on this vehicle that have no remedies.

On at 3 separate occasions, I have had the accelerator get stuck on what I believe is full throttle. Initially I thought it might be my floor mat, however it happened yesterday in a parking lot. So there was no reason for the peddle to get involved with the floor mat. I was accelerating, but obviously not to full throttle

June 26th 2019 my truck felt like it shifted into 4WD on its own, later that day I lost ABS, traction control and cruise control. It went to the dealership where it took 3 days to diagnose. Was informed that ABS pump and ABS control module need to be replaced and the part is not currently available. Further research of internet forums shows this is a known problem and does not appear to be addressed properly. I am still waiting for my truck to be repaired and there is a warranty on it. Dealership allowed me to pickup the truck without the repair and did not provide receipts or work orders because I did not have any other transportation. In heavy rain the truck has become quite dangerous to drive.

My Ram 2500 diesel was in cruise control on a 4 lane highway with periodic stop lights when I pushed heavily on the gas pedal to accelerate while pulling a 13,000 lb trailer. When I took my foot off the gas, the engine stayed in full acceleration mode. Full braking was not slowing the vehicle much and it looked like we were going to collide in to vehicles ahead of us. I shifted in to neutral, the engine raced at high RPM, but I was then able to slow down and avoid the vehicles. I shut off the motor for a short time, restarted it and it was fine. A recall is apparently available for Ram 2500S with gasoline engines, but I was told not for my diesel. That needs to be rectified immediately to get ours fixed. Very scary.

With cruise set at 75 mph, speed would decrease to around 71mph, then unexpectedly and rapidly increase to 75. This happened repeatedly and I stopped using it for about 3 weeks. I tried it on return trip and it worked fine.
