Hydraulic Control Unit failed, along with the control module per dealer diagnostics. The ABS warning and traction control light is flashing consistently, and the ABS system is not working. The dealer has indicated there is no estimate on when these parts will be available. This is the third occurrence of the same bad components.

Message " service electronic braking system" keeps appearing on dash. The truck has less than 18000 miles, never off road or in snow/salt.. Garage kept. No accidents ever. I'm very concerned about the safety of the vehicle. I haven't taken it to the dealer yet, I hear parts are not available, and its a common failure on the 2017-2018 ram trucks

On January 15, 2024 my 2018 RAM 2500 truck with 6.7 Cummins Diesel engine was towed to dealer after "Service Antilock Braking Systems" warnings were displayed on dash instruments. Dealer diagnosed that the anti-lock brake module needed replacement but part is back-ordered with no estimate on expected replacement date. Was told by dealer there will be no harm to vehicle mechanical/electrical systems driving truck as is without anti-lock brakes other than possible lack of traction if driving on snow/ice, etc. As of 3/22/24, latest dealer update is an upcoming 4/1/24 update from RAM Corporate unit with no information on what to expect as yet. Not encouraging when faced with mountain driving pulling heavy trailer this summer and no anti-lock braking active. Audible & Visual warnings still displaying and dinging daily at this time.

The electronic braking system failure alert is frequently happening. I believe this includes a failure in the anti-lock braking system also. If cruise control is active, it is also disabled.

Hello, I have a 2018 Ram 2500 with 35,000 miles, there is a well-known issue regarding the anti-Lock Braking Systems which effects 2017 and 2018 models which, Stellantis -RAM refuses to address. My truck suffers from this issue, the ABS and traction control warning lights constantly flicker on and off and there is an audible ding when this occurs. My local dealer diagnosed the problem, and the truck needs to have the HCU and ABS modules replaced. The cost to perform this work is nearly $2,000 since the parts are expensive and there is a fair amount of programming which needs to occur. Besides the cost the main issue is that the parts are not even available. I have been waiting on the parts since November 2023, my dealer says the next "production" date for the part is late June. I received this same type of response 2 times already, first for November, then February now June. Last I checked there are over 400 requests for these parts before me. At this point I drive an unsafe vehicle with no ABS or traction control, and I can-??t even get it repaired. I also can-??t use the truck for its intended purpose of towing. I-??m looking for some assistance in this matter. There is also an active Class action lawsuit against Stellantis to provide relief for owners of these trucks, myself being one. My 2018 RAM 2500 has 30,176 miles on it. Two years ago the HCU and module controlling the ABS system failed and was replaced. When the system fails numerous lights and warning chimes activate and the cruise control stops working. The system has failed again and the dealer tells me it will take 45+ days to get the parts necessary to repair the ABS system. After researching online I discovered an open class action lawsuit against FCA for this problem. I also discovered that this is a common problem with 2500 and 3500 RAM trucks after reading owner forum sites but so far no recall has been issued by NTHSA. This is a major safety issue for owners and needs to be fixed.

The ABS control module and the Hydraulic control unit are both faulty and need to be replaced. Parts are not available to fix this issue. Recently the truck's brakes have started randomly applying themselves so hard that it slows the truck down even while accelerating. I find this very unsafe.

Abs pump motor, hcu and module need to be replaced. Dodge knows this is a problem and they need to stand behind their product and recall these vehicles. The cruise control cannot be used, it surges trying to slow the vehicle down due to the faulty modules. The parts are on back order until June. This issue started at 46,000 miles but because the vehicle is over 5 years old Dodge doesn-??t want to cover the repair. Not a happy customer! Please recall these vehicles.
