My 2018 RAM 2500 has had an ABS system recall since Nov 2024. My truck has had a problem with the ABS since 2019. I do not have anit-lock brakes or cruise control as a result of this failure to be able to resolve the problem. Over a year since the recall, and still no parts available. How long is the NHTSA going to let RAM get away with this?? Maybe after some has an accident or hurts someone they will respond. I have been a RAM owner since 1989 since the first CUMMINS engine was put in their 2500's. I'm VERY disappointed in RAM, and the NHTSA for not resolving this.

I am forced to drive a vehicle through the winter with a known safety defect - an ABS system that does not work properly. I was told by Ram corporate they were trying to source parts - it has been several months and still no resolution. I was told I could rent a car at my expense to drive in the winter, or try and find the parts to repair and do it at my cost. They are obviously trying to avoid paying for the repair, and putting me and my family at risk.

After several visits to dealership, I have been told I am not able to get this recall remedied. I am stuck with a vehicle that is unsafe to drive, according to the Dodge dealership and unable to be traded in. I am now having a financial loss as I pay for rent on my RV and am unable to pull it due to the faulty part and safety concern. The ABS indicator and traction control light is lit on the dash. This started about 6 months ago. Periodically, I believe the brakes are failing as I can feel it on the front end. The cruise control no longer works on the vehicle and a buzzing sound comes on while driving. The warning indicators have been confirmed through the dealership mechanic and code readers. The staff at all dealerships I have visited have been of no assistance and virtually told me I am just out of luck. I commute to work and travel for pleasure. As an older individual, I do not have the financial means to take the loss on a vehicle and just buy another. How does one take a $60k loss like this because Mopar has not fulfilled their commitment to provide quality parts and remedy a safety recall?

I have had this issue for over 2 years now and the recall is almost a year old. I went to the RAM dealership in Elizabeth City, NC and they have told me that they would get back to me for over two years. I call MOPAR and they still have no fix for the issue nor do they have a timeframe of when to expect. When asked, if they are going to cover the cost of the accident that occurs when the brakes actually fail, they suggest if I am not comfortable driving the vehicle, they might offer a rental vehicle. I go through that process and since they don't have an estimated timeframe, they won't allow me to get a rental. Just need to problem fixed and they have had plenty of time to correct this issue.

MY ABS module was replaced shortly after purchasing my truck, which currently has 65,000. However, the ABS module has been malfunctioning for years. Despite contacting and visiting dealerships, I've been informed the necessary part is unavailable. consequently, my truck has been without traction control, and I've been unable to use cruise control, for most of the time I've owned it. Recently, I've experienced loss of traction, which has nearly resulted in three accidents. while I understand the concept of recalls, this situation is unacceptable.

The brake system and steering system are affected. Both are subject to open safety recalls that have not been fully resolved. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Unresolved brake and steering issues pose a serious safety risk, particularly when driving with my family. A failure or malfunction of either system could result in reduced stopping ability or loss of steering control, increasing the risk of an accident. Due to these unresolved safety concerns, I do not feel safe operating the vehicle. The issues are associated with acknowledged manufacturer recalls. However, my local dealership/manufacturing has failed to adequately respond or complete the necessary repairs, despite multiple attempts to address the problems. The vehicle has been presented to the dealership for recall-related concerns. No inspections by police or insurance representatives have occurred to date. Manufacturer involvement has been limited to customer service communications, without resolution. Symptoms include ongoing brake and steering concerns that prompted recall notifications. These issues have persisted despite recall availability and were present prior to my most recent attempts to obtain service. No effective corrective action has been completed.

Continuing saga of HCU failures. First identified years ago, i follow up with dealer monthly. Latest call last Friday, they advised no solution or timeline for repair provided by FCA. Impact is loss of ABS (reduced braking safety), loss of control of trailer electronic brakes (increased risk while towing a trailer), incessant audio warning alarms (distracts driver), and loss of other systems (cruise control). First detection of malfunction was spring 2024. My fear is FCA/Stellantis are not doing their due diligence to preserve the safety of their customers muchless of our highways. All documentation of the problem is based on personnel research and verbal communication with the dealer service department. I do have maintenance records identifying the problem with my vehicle if needed.

Early 2024 and it continues today, I randomly get an alert about my braking system needing checked but then the message will go away and everything works fine. I finally took it to Keer Automotive dealership in New Lexington OH in March 2024 to see what was going on and they advised there was an issue with the ABS module and the part wasn't available but they were expecting it in May 2024 and it would cost about $1800 for the repair. They put me on their list to contact when they received the parts. Around November 2024, I received a recall notice. To date, I am still waiting on the part. I continue to follow up with Keer but they have no answers. In the meantime, I am stuck with a $65,000 truck that has a faulty braking unit. It is my mode of transportation and with winter upon us once again I am faced with winter weather driving and not knowing if my brakes will work properly. This puts me and anyone riding with me at extreme risk of an accident as well as anyone around me that could be impacted should an accident occur.

Reference 24V-986. This recall shows a date of November 2024. The remedy for this is not yet available as of 12/08/2025. It is winter and as there is no ABS on my truck I cannot use it for work or personal reasons. This is unacceptable. I will not purchase another FCA vehicle again due to the lack of customer support.

1 day after purchasing from Dealer random ABS warnings started disabling the ABS, Cruse Control and Stability control. Researching issue there is a recall from 11/2024 Recall was not disclosed. the remedy is to replace the HPU which is not available for the 2500 series pickup. which appears to be the same HPU that is available for larger trucks. Parts availability is not timely for such a critical component.

Stellantis and RAM companies have had Manufacturer Recall NumberC4B NHTSA Recall Number24V-896 Recall Status: Recall Incomplete, remedy not yet available This has been well over a year and I have lost the use of my Truck for loading my Truck Camper for the entire year due to their lack of resources allocated to fix this issue. I have had the Traction control light /ABS Service light associated with the HCU electric pump motor fail on this recall since June of 2024 and it is due to defective parts that do not last as this was the second HCU/Electric pump motor in the truck from the Manufacturer and installed serviced by my local RAM dealer dealer( first one failed at 11,500 miles approximately. my truck has 23,000 miles on it currently as and when the repair part(s) come into stock, it will be the 3rd unit installed. This time on waiting for upgraded parts to be installed under the Recall/Warranty is unacceptable and is not "TIMELY" at all. Additionally if this light comes on during driving with cruise control on it will shut off cruise control and can cause an accident from the deceleration.

The C4B recall on my truck has been open for over a year and Ram / MOPAR just keep saying no part available when I take it in to get fixed. The truck will not stay in cruise control every time the light dings. It is a hydraulic controller for the brake fluid which seems like it is a huge safety risk if it does fail while driving.

Please add this to complaint number: 11702732 This is a supplemental complaint regarding the same safety issue I previously reported involving Safety Recall C4B on my 2018 Ram 2500 - complaint # 11702732 In addition to the safety concerns and the prior accident I described in my original complaint, the unresolved recall has also caused significant financial harm. I still owe approximately $15,100 on the vehicle and must make a $515 monthly payment. Because the recall remedy has been unavailable for years, I cannot legally sell or trade the vehicle, even though it should have substantial equity. The truck-??s resale value has dropped due to the open safety recall with no remedy, leaving me financially stuck with an unsafe vehicle I cannot get rid of and a high payment that I currently cannot afford due to job loss. The unresolved recall continues to put me in danger during winter driving, and the lack of remedy has created both a safety crisis and a serious financial hardship. Please attach this information to my previous complaint for the same VIN.

The Brake Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) covered under Safety Recall C4B has been unavailable for several years, leaving my 2018 Ram 2500 with ongoing ABS, traction control, and electronic stability control malfunctions. This defect has already caused an actual accident. In January 2024, during snow conditions, the ABS and traction control failed while I was braking in my driveway. The truck slid uncontrollably and struck a tree, causing over $10,000 in damage that had to be repaired through my insurance. This incident occurred specifically because the brake and stability systems did not function properly. The issue continues to create serious safety risks, especially in winter. The warning lights for ABS and traction control are on constantly, accompanied by continuous dinging that is extremely distracting and stressful to drive with. The truck loses stability on snow or ice, braking distance is increased, and the vehicle behaves unpredictably. I am now driving again in snow and ice this winter, and I am genuinely afraid this defect will cause another accident. Despite this being an acknowledged safety recall, every dealership I contact says the replacement HCU part is still -??not available-?? for my vehicle. This has been confirmed repeatedly by multiple dealerships and by the manufacturer-??s recall hotline. I have attempted to get this recall repaired for several years with no success. Because the recall remedy is unavailable, the vehicle remains unsafe to operate, yet I have no alternative transportation and must drive it daily. I also cannot sell or trade the truck, which has caused significant financial harm. I am requesting NHTSA assistance because the recall remedy has not been provided within a reasonable timeframe, the vehicle remains unsafe, and the defect has already contributed to a crash.
