My trucks braking systems hydraulic control unit (HCU) is Malfunctioning. It goes in and out of service while driving and two warning lights and a buzzer will sound on and off. This part was replaced during the 3/36 warranty and again when out of warranty for two replacements before 71k miles. Now for the third time it-??s malfunctioning at 111k miles. I failed to convince Ram to replace it for the third time under warranty and was denied. I was told the part and the truck is out of warranty and will be an out of pocket expense to repair. I feel the dealer installed a known faulty part and Ram should replace it with the new corrected part number at no cost.

This is a very common issue and something that could easily cause a major accident in not ideal situations if not resolved quickly. The dealership has inspected it and confirmed the ABS Module is the culprit. This is obviously something that is common and should be investigated more.

How can there be a widespread issue like this and there not be a safety recall, seems like an issue with the brake system would be recalled quickly.

ABS System. It is available for inspection. On my 2018 Ram 2500 HD 6.7 Cummins Big Horn the ABS warning lights start flashing and warning alarm will start beeping. This is intermittent, but lately much more constant. The big safety issue is when I'm trailering and the ABS system flashes I lose my trailer braking ability. Also, if I'm on cruise control and the warning light comes on, it drops out of cruise control.
