ABS hydraulic control unit has went out with 6000 miles. It-??s a known issue to ram back order of part is 6 months. There are lawsuits over this issue. Why can-??t we have ram fix this safety issue. Does it take people getting killed to make this a recall?

This is my second time that it goes out on my truck. First time went out at 40k miles now just went out on 76k miles. ABS and HCU are in need of replacement parts. Because no replacement parts are available, I have no choice but to drive a Truck with questionable Breaking System, putting me, my family and others at risk, since the brake system is what stops my Truck when I need it to stop or slow down. I use this to tow the family travel trailer as well. This is also very important when brakes are needed to function safely. I have taken the Truck to my dealer of purchase. They completed a diagnostic test and also reproduced and confirmed the problem. The vehicle has been inspected by the manufacturer's dealership Service Dept. The Truck's "ABS SERVICE BRAKE SYSTEM" warning lights and warning tones alerted me of service needed back in November 2022, with just over 36,000 miles. I made an appointment and the dealership serviced my truck in January 2023. Since no parts are available for the repair, I had no option but to pay a diagnostic's fee to have my vehicle released to me, still in need of repairs. The warning lights and signals continue to go off repeatedly whenever I drive my Truck, letting me know that there is a SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED!

ABS, TRACTION CONTROL, REPAIR ELECTRONIC BRAKE ALERTS HAVE BEEN FLASHING WITH AUDIBLE BEEPING AND AT TIMES REMAINS LIT WITHOUT BEEPING. Putting a load on the engine or hitting bumps on road seems to cause the warning lights and beeping. This has been going on since June of 2022. Vehicle was taken to shop and diagnosed with failing part (electronic abs brake module) Part was not readily available and waited two months for part for repair. Cost $525 total. Did not fix problem now repair shop states the truck needs HCU hydraulic brake fluid pump. Its been EIGHT MONTHS no part available. Truck is in need of repair, no parts available and has limited our use of airstream tow vehicle for travel.

Warning lights for "Service Electronic Braking System" and "Service Antilock Brake System" appeared sporadically for 3 days, then remained lit continuously. RAM dealer service advisor said it's diagnosed as a failure of the Hydraulic Control Unit. They also advised that the part is on back order and not expected to be available until August 2023, that the truck should not be driven and that I could try contacting Chrysler for more definitive information. I did contact Chrysler, who assigned a "case number" for future reference and invited me to call back in a week if I had not heard from a case manager. I noted that this is an issue of interest to NTSB and am reporting in hopes that you can apply pressure for remuneration for the loss of use and expedite resolution. Chrysler is not much affected but my family is without an essential vehicle and faces significant expense to accomodate this "known defect."

The hydraulic control box has been bad in my 2018 Ram 2500 since October of 2022. I have tried to order the part through two different dealerships and three times now directly from Mopar, where my order was cancelled. We were originally told the part would be available in December, then March, now it-??s August. The ABS and traction control warning lights ding on and off constantly, which is obviously annoying, but much worse- this is our family travel vehicle. We travel with two children and are frequently hauling heavy loads- a large trailer full horses or a 10,000 lb boat. Not having antilock brakes period is a danger, but hauling heavy loads puts us and the vehicles around us at risk.

Abs light and ebs lights come on randomly. Some days the two lights continuously come on for the entire trip, some days the lights don't come on at all.

At approximately 21000 miles the ebs/ads warning light came on -the dash. After a few minutes it went out and has been intermittent since, (currently at 39000 miles). During the summer it comes on less often than during winter/rainy season (Oregon). That said there doesn't seem to be an outstanding pattern except when it is wet (on roadways). Have taken to dealership where purchased three times. The first two the warning light was off when I arrived and they couldn't get it to come on. On the third it was on and after talking to the customer service representative I learned that it is a pro lem they have had to deal with many times (the service representative AND a service tech told me that Ram has a service bulletin notice on how and what to fix, it is that common). I asked why it isn't a service recall issue since it affects a pretty obvious safety device -BRAKES- they could not answer.
