ABS system and Cruise Control cut out on my truck constantly when I-??m driving. My brakes have locked up while I was driving in the rain almost causing me to wreck. I-??ve seen other people having issues with this and their HCU units in these year trucks. Ram refuses to help me.

Intermittent service anti lock brake system and service electronic braking system results in loss of ABS system. The dealer has examined it and recommends replacement of the ABS pump motor and control. $1000! I-??m told parts are on back order for 10 months. Must be because of all the failures on other vehicles in addition to mine.

Anti Lock Brake light is on. Truck was taken in with only 13,445 miles on it. Was told it needed an ABS Pump Motor Control. Was also told after speaking to mechanics at two other Ram dealers that it would also need the module besides needing the pump. I was told it would be 5 hours labor at $150 per hour plus parts. after researching this problem I have come to find that a large number of 2018 Ram 2500 pickup trucks have this issue. Seems like it should be considered for recall. Thanks, Randy Rigatti

Antilock braking system has failed and the alarm continually goes on and off while going down the highway. The dealership has told me the parts to repair this issue are unavailable. This is the second time this occured. The first was at about 40,000 miles and now the second was at 80,000 miles. I have significant concerns with operating the vehicle with the system turning on and off but Ram has yet to provide a solution. Doing some research this appears to be a common problem that everyone with 2500 and 3500 Rams between 2012 and 2018 are experiencing.

2018 Ram 2500 - July 2022 - truck mileage @ 48000 miles the ABS and traction control light began flashing with an alert tone began going on and off while driving down the road. I took the truck to Dodge dealership to resolve the issue the dealership informed me that the "ABS module" was malfunctioning. I was given a price for the repair and when I asked them to proceed, I was told the part was not available any where in North America. I was told they would have replacement in December 2022. I checked back in January 2023 and was told it would be mid-March 2023 before they would arrive. I checked the first of April 2023 and now am being told none are expected until August 2023. So it will be over a year before I can get the anti-lock brakes and traction control working properly on the 3/4 ton truck. While I can drive it, it is not nearly as safe without these key safety features not working or working only intermittently. There is also the constant sound of the alert tone as the system cycles almost non-stop between working and not working. It does not seem that Dodge/Ram is taking this safety concern seriously and have offered no solutions to resolve this known issue. Thank you!

ABS and traction control failed causing me to lose control on an icy road. I was able to regain control without hitting anything or having an accident but now I get an intermittent ABS control module service warning. When this appears the antilock brakes, the cruise control and traction control do not work. Once the light goes off all systems return to normal operation. It is intermittent and unpredictable. Parts are on National back order, I do not think replacing all of these parts is the issue. As dealers like to do-?? they just replace the whole system without identifying what the issue is. I do not think I should have to pay for replacing parts that are working properly. FCA needs to recall all of these systems and replace them at their expense!

C0020-01 "ABS Pump Motor Control-General Electrical Failure" is a trouble code found on the truck I just bought. That seems to be a common occurrence per Ram/Cummins forums. The truck is from a salvage auction, so I cannot say exactly what took place or about personal injury.

My truck was purchased new by me in January of 2019. At approximately 47,000 miles my ABS system failed and I payed to replace the ABS pump/module per manufacturer recommendation. Now in January of 2023 at approximately 95,000 miles the same part has failed on the truck. The ABS system does not function properly causing a substantial safety risk. In addition, I have been told that the part required for repair (ABS pump/module) is out of stock and is not able to be ordered until August of 2023 at which time i will be required to pay out of pocket for the repair. Not only is the time frame for the repair part unacceptable. It is also unacceptable that a quality part has not been supplied. ABS pump/module is not a wear item that should be replaced in such a short timespan.

ABS module and traction control starting going off while driving. I took the car to the dealer but refused to fix it despite being under warranty at the time. The ABS and traction control lights go on/off suddenly and my cruise control shuts down and I loose ABS braking which is CRITICAL. this can cause an accident and I am not the only one with this issue. 2019+ Rams have already been recalled for the same issue. I need to get fixed ASAP, I HAVE CHILDREN IN THE CAR WITH ME! Issue keeps getting worse and lights come on more and more frequent, so most of my driving is without proper brakes.

I have had the ABS hydraulic module replaced several times by Firkins Automotive, now with the same Faulty Hydraulic module failing once again. The dealer had told me after the 2nd time this was replaced it was -??junk-?? parts and there was no permanent repair. When this goes bad you lose all ABS function and traction control causing braking to be unstable and truck to have no traction control. On the dash is the ABS light, traction light and BRAKE light illuminated all the time with warning chimes.

PN: 68143491AB was ordered (Order # 1201BP) At that time, Parts were listed as being on Backorder and unavailable until mid January, 2023. "? Mid January 2023, Part still unavailable, New estimate of part availability was mid March 2023. ??? Mid March 2023, I'm now being told parts will not be available until mid August 2023 ??" At this point, it will be over 9 months to correct this issue.

Abs And Traction Control Light comes on and Chimes go off. you lose ABS and Traction Control and Cruse control, This is a know issue with 2018 Ram 2500. Parts are hard to come by and are very expensive to repair, This safety concern and should be a Ram Recall. I have not taken it to the dealer yet but since it is out of warranty by time, I cant afford the high cost of the repair

The ABS/HCU (Hydraulic Control Unit) failed again. This will be the 3rd HCU installed in my vehicle. The previous repair was completed 10 days ago. I have an open case with Stellantis, since the parts are on extreme backorder (3+ Months). My safety is at risk, because when this component fails, it directly impacts the ABS Brakes, Traction Control, Cruise Control, Parking Assistance, etc. The dealer has confirmed the issue. I am unsure what diagnostics the dealer has performed on the failed part. There are multiple warning lamps associate with BRAKE, ABS, Traction Control, Cruise Control, Parking Assist, Service Electronic Breaking System, etc.

Service ABS and electrical brake system failure lights come on randomly and repeatedly. This also disengages the cruise control when it happens. Sometimes the warning light stays on for a few minutes, other times it flashes on and off and dings each time. This is a very common issue for this year of Ram truck from people that I know and from the research I have done. At my previous employer, we had 2 other rams the same year with the same issue. The ABS system will not work with this problem - I was driving and my vehicle skid due to there not being ABS. I have tried on multiple occasions since my truck had about 85k miles on it to get this problem repair. The dealerships all told me they dont have the parts for a repair

When driving our 2018 RAM 2500 diesel pickup the message on the dash instrument panel intermittently flashes the message "Service Electronic Brake System." then the ABS and traction control symbols light up on the dash. The RAM dealer diagnosed the problem to the Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) and said it needs to be replaced. The dealer also said until this is fixed the trailer electronic brakes, truck ABS, traction control and cruise control will not work. Please see the RAM dealer attached diagnosis. The dealer also said they can't order the part until 8/16/2023, the part is currently back ordered because so may RAM pickups have the same problem. So I have a very expensive truck that I can't safely use for what I bought it for, to haul a heavy trailer that has electronic brakes controlled by the vehicle.
