Abs and traction control flashes on and off intermediate. Took to dodge dealer in New Boston, TX. Needs new HCU but is on national back order. When this happens the cruise control doesn't work and wheels will lock up if I hit the brakes to hard to stop.

The ABS and Traction Control lights constantly blink on and off while driving, causing cruise control to shut off and an audible ding inside the cab, every time the lights flash. I am concerned that since the ABS module is malfunctioning, that the brakes may lock up or not engage when they are supposed to, and I will not have anti lock feature if I happen to need it. Aside from the annoyance of the dinging constantly, and the cruise control disengaging, I feel this is or will become a serious hazard. I have read that RAM has had several ABS related issues, and I don't understand why this is not recalled yet.

In November of 2019 our ABS & ESB Warning lights keep coming on and off (code C0020.01 ABS pump motor control general electrical failure). The dealer replaced P/N 68347098AB & 68143491 an this resolved the problem. In November of 2022 the same ABS & ESB Warning lights started coming on (same code C0020.01 ABS pump motor control general electrical failure). I have been told this is a known problem with our Vehicle, and that the parts are hard to come by. Why has this issued not been resolved" We tow a Travel Trailer, and this cannot continue to happen. Was driving vehicle on a rock road, when rounding a slight curve in the road, the antilock brake system light and the traction control lights both illuminated at the same time. The rear end of the truck began to slide due to having light pressure on the brakes and I was pulling my fifth wheel camper. Fortunately there were no injuries or damage to the truck or the camper. I washed off the mud when I got back to a hard surface area that had a car wash available and continued on my journey. Approximately 30 more miles later on the same trip both warning lights came on again. I immediately pulled over to read the message warning that was up on the dash to see if I could continue with my journey or not. After reading the message on the display in the truck, I decided it would be safer not to continue with my journey with that truck due to the safety issues and possibility of injury or death to me and my passengers, or another vehicle that I may encounter either head on or from behind. I had a friend of mine bring his fifth wheel truck to pick up my camper and return it back to my home. I had to cancel my camping trip for that week, which cost me approximately $400 out of pocket and then I had to pay my friend gas money to bring my vehicle home for me. I placed a call to the dealership nearest me and they advised me it would be $1,000 to begin any sort of diagnostic procedure on the I have now been driving the vehicle only unladened with any sort of extra payload, the light will come on and go off and come on and go off multiple times some days no times other days. I am retired, and a long-term covid patient, I do not have the financial resources to take a vehicle to a dealership to have them charge me absorbent amount of money when this clearly should be a safety recall on this vehicle. I have lost use of the vehicle for the intended purpose of telling my camper and boat, the manufacturer needs to be advised of this and give everybody repairs to make it safe to use.

ABS light and Traction control lights go on and off constantly. Issue started around 38, xxx miles. This is a known issue in the ram community and Chrysler needs to recall these trucks to make the proper repairs to the HCU and ABS module. This is a major distraction while driving as the lights and chimes constantly go on and off and I cannot focus on the road. when these lights come on the ABS system is disabled, all traction control is disabled as well as my cruise control.

2018 Ram 2500 6.7L Cummins. While driving, at any speed, -??Service ABS-?? and/or -??Service Electronic Braking System-?? flashes rapidly and intermittently on gauge cluster display. During this, the -??Traction Control Fail-?? icon displays. Additionally, the cruise control will automatically disengage (creating a safety issue through increased risk of being rear ended while at highway speeds) and the warning chime activates constantly leading to distraction while driving. The truck is essentially undriveable. It is incumbent on the manufacturer to remedy this problem. It-??s a shame I cannot use this truck more than a few miles at a time. How am I to stop with my family of 6 inside the truck, towing a 10,000 lbs trailer on a rainy day at interstate speeds without functioning ABS? This is a serious design flaw and I encourage NHTSA to continue their investigation into Ram-??s process for remedy as soon as practical. Strongly recommend mandatory recall.

At 9955 miles, the WARNING CHIMES were activated on this vehicle, and the error message on the dash indicated 'ABS FAILURE' and/or 'SERVICE ABS SYSTEM'. I checked the OBDII codes and saw code C0020, 'ABS pump failure and/or Hydraulic Control Unit Failure'. Took vehicle to the stealership, who also checked the OBDII scan and replaced both the pump and the HCU with the SAME SUBSTANDARD COMPONENTS that were previously used. Less than 6000 miles later, the SAME PROBLEM BEGAN OCCURRING AGAIN, along with the SAME OBDII failure code. Took vehicle back to stealership, who confirmed that this was the SAME PROBLEM that occurred at 9955 miles, but that they couldn't order the 'new and improved' parts from FCA until Jan, 2023. Returned to stealership in March, 2023, and was told these ABS parts were now on backorder. Filed a complaint with FCA Customer Care, who then sent the 'backordered' parts to the stealership two weeks later. The stealership WILL NOT INSTALL THE PARTS UNLESS I PAY FOR THE PARTS AND LABOR in spite of a RAM TSB describing this failure and a Texas class action lawsuit against FCA for failing to address these ABS safety problems affecting thousands of RAM HD truck owners. FCA still has not issued a recall on the faulty ABS components. EVERY TIME THE ABS WARNING CHIME OCCURS (OFTEN EVERY 10-15 SECONDS), IT DISTRACTS THE DRIVER AND CANCELS THE CRUISE CONTROL, AND, OF COURSE, THE ABS SYSTEM STOPS FUNCTIONING.
