Antilock Braking system warning flashes on and off constantly. Diagnosed as HCU (Hydraulic Control Unit). DTC code is C0020-01 Researched and found RAM TSB S2005000004. Also found that MANY of these have failed. Not only that, but my dealer cannot even order a replacement part until late June 2023 and it is March 4th, 2023 now. Then, when it is ordered, may still take another 3-5 weeks to receive. My point is. This needs to be treated as a recall. Obviously there are major issues with this component, so much so, that you can't even buy one to replace the failed component. In the mean time, I have vehicle without ABS braking.

A warning light comes on that there is a failure with the anti lock brakes and electronic braking system. The cruise control will also fail to work. When the roads where wet the other day, i was sliding to avoid hitting deer that began crossing the road. It took longer to stop than it should have. I'm concerned that living in Michigan with the inclement weather, it may cause a accident that could have been avoided. The vehicle was checked by a mechanic who said the control was going out. The incident started some last summer (I only have 22,000 miles on my truck) but it is intermittent.

Driving along freeway to visit family, cruise control engaged, travelling 65 mph, when all of a sudden several messages flashed on the dash to "check electronic braking system", and traction control disengaged light and service light came on as Cruise control shut off. after a few seconds lights went out and system returned to normal. Repeated several times on way back home (3 hr drive) and had randomly happened since almost every time I drive the truck. Had similar situation a year after I bought the vehicle, 11/2020 @6600 miles, local dealer replaced HCU. This can potentially leave me without Traction control and ABS when I need them and could cause an Accident. I'm waiting for dealer to get other parts in for a covered warranty repair, (Been waiting since Nov 2022), and have them fix both, again, but it renders my truck useless- dangerous to drive until then.

The ABS system has failed again on this vehicle. It was repaired by the dealer at 23,836 miles initially. The ABS module is in need of replacement again at approx. 58,000 miles. The ABS and traction warning lamp come on and off intermittently while driving.

Began receiving a warning message of " service ABS breaking system / service electronic braking system. Contact dealer " while message is displayed, ABS and traction control will not work. Dealer diagnosed as a known issue with a faulty ABS controller and/or hydraulic control unit failure. The dealer said there was no recall even though it's a known issue so the repair is the customers responsibility. The cost of the parts if available, plus the cost of labor is forcing the truck to be operated on daily basis and quite often towing heavy loads in a condition that is extremely unsafe.

At 15,000 miles i had Service ABS, Service Electronic Brake System and warning lights activating at different times/ conditions. When this happened the cruise would also disengage without warning. Brought to the dealer and the ABS control module and pump were replaced under warranty. At 75,000 miles the Service ABS, Service Electronic Brake System and warning lights were activating intermediately at different times/ conditions. Again the cruise would disengage without warning. I had the code checked at it was listed as code C0020-01 "ABS Pump Motor Control- General Electrical Failure." which i believe is the code that was thrown at the 15,000 mile mark. Right now i am waiting for the part to become available for replacement.

Chrysler issued a recall involving the 2019 to 2022 Ram 2500, the 2019 to 2022 Ram 3500 Chassis Cab with GVWR under 10K lbs., and the 2021 to 2022 Dodge Durango due to an ABS Software issue. They have completely ignored the 2018 RAM pickups with an ABS Controller issue. We have had a part on backorder for months and the dealership we work with has 14 of them on backorder. Research on the internet has confirmed hundreds of other RAM owners of 2018's have the same issue. The ABS warning message and ding goes on excessively. In an hour's drive, it might go off 12 to 15 times, warning the ABS system is not operating. It also causes the Cruise Control to cease working. We need some help on this issue.

My 2018 ram 2500 started having the service the electronic brake system or service antilock braking system, it also showed traction warning light on instrument cluster message come at about 45,000miles it came on every time I-??d hit a bump in the road sometimes it would stay on for days on end and not go out other times it would come on every few seconds and back off as quick as it came on, I got a hold of the dealer I bought truck from and scheduled an appointment, at 50,281 miles my truck was diagnosed at a charge of $112.58 and was told that -?? abs pump motor needs replacing and replacement part not available at this time-??, I asked if this is a new issue and if they seen it before to be told-?? there was also a lot of other rams coming in with this same issue-??. After this discussion my eta for the part was December 18 of 2022 heard nothing so reached out to the dealer on December 23 of 2022 only to be told that it would be in January 18th of 2023, on January 18th called the dealership only to be told it will now be in on March 18th of 2023, this issue is not getting resolved and every time this warning comes on it shuts off the cruise control, traction control and the ABS which in my opinion is something I could really use in the Wisconsin winters, I-??m really hopeful that you will remedy this situation this is a serious safety issue and in my opinion an accident waiting to happen if it hasn-??t already

Failed aniti lock brakes module..... I applied the brakes for an emergency stop shortly after the code came up for anti lock brake failure and traction control. Had the code looked at came back as failed brake module. Code was cleared and the problem went away. Shortly after I was involved in another incident where the anti lock brakes did not work and again the anti lock brake module failure code is on the truck. Through incident the brakes locked up all 4 wheels resulting in loss of control.

My vehicle has 45347 miles. It started throwing "Service Electronic Braking system " and "Service Antilock Brake system" messages intermittently. While driving on highway, truck would abruptly throw these messages and turn off ABS, EBS and also cruise control. It appears to be a very common safety issue with 2018 RAM 2500. I took my vehicle to the dealer but he couldn't read the codes because they were off and didn't come on. This is a safety issue for driving a one ton pickup truck and especially if driven in wet conditions.

The Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) has failed for the second time on the truck which causes the ABS, traction control, parking sensors and cruise control all to fail, along with the electrical baking system for pulling trailers. This is the second time this has failed. The first was replaced at the dealership on 07/22/2021 when the truck had 29,983 miles on it. It has failed again with 42,125 miles on it, and the dealership will not cover it as it is not listed as a warranty item.

Total brake failure. Went to park at the bank (luckily was only moving at 4MPH) Went to stop and the brake pedal sank all the way to the floor. I quickly pumped them and was able to stop only inches from going through a fence. Was able to pump the peddle till it was solid again. Has not happened again since then.

The ABS/Electronic Braking system failed before the truck even hit 50K miles, but I haven't been able to get a replacement module and have been told that these items are on back-order until an indeterminate time. However, the Electronic Braking System and ABS warning lights go off on my truck daily, especially if I drive over any rough roads or bumps. I've been having trouble getting my truck inspected because these parts can't get replaced. I've also noticed that the cruise control system on the RAM 2500 doesn't work sometimes and sometimes it comes on but it doesn't want to switch off when you hit the brakes, so I had to stop using it for fear it wouldn't turn off at all at some point.

The notification on the dash reads -??Service Electronic Brake System-?? The truck makes a constant dinging sound while the truck is in motion. My mechanic ordered the brake control module back in October 2022 and the part is still on backorder.
