ABS / HCU System Failed. My safety was directly impacted. I was driving 70MPH on the expressway and had a SUDDEN deceleration, which nearly caused a rear-impact collision. Various warnings and lights on the dash lit up with "Service Electronic Braking System". When the ABS / HCU system has an issue, it deactivates the cruise control, ABS System, traction control, and parking detection system. The dealer is able to verify the issue. I have taken the truck to the dealer, who is reporting a part shortage and multi-month backorder for the part. This is a huge safety issue, and could have killed me and my children. This should become an immediate recall since it directly impacts the safety features of the vehicle as well as the cruise control system, which may suddenly deactivate and cause sudden deceleration. My ABS and traction control lights came on my dash. It gave a message to service electronic brakes. The lights would come on, followed by an audible ding. Then it would go off, again with an audible ding. On, and off, on and off again. Sometimes it will stay on, some times it-??s intermittent. It happens under all conditions, start up/running at temp, bumps/level roads, during braking/driving at speeds, and in wet/dry roads. The only performance issues I-??ve clearly noticed is the traction control not working on wet grass. I-??ve had to use four wheel drive to get out of the situation. I-??m questioning the safety of my vehicle at this point. I have been researching and see that this is a highly discussed issue and a known issue, and has parts availability issues. I saw where NHTSA had opened an investigation, so I wanted to report that it is also a problem for me. I plan on contacting the dealership this week.

Vehicle was repaired once under warranty for the ABS and Traction Control Light coming on and off consistently. Approximately 25000 miles later the truck started doing this same thing again. ABS and Traction Control Light will consistently come on and off over and over. Will happen when I brake, accelerate or let off accelerator, and on bumpy roads. Sometimes it comes on while on the interstate with cruise control activated causing the vehicle to come out of cruise control. Dealer states it is a common problem and my parts have been on back order since October of 2022, It is now February 19 2023. Dealer states it is a 1400 dollar repair.

The ABS/HCU control unit failed at 16000 miles and was replaced. At 30000 miles, the same part has failed again. The parts for repair are not available at this time. Hopefully an upgraded part is being designed to fix this failure. I am afraid to drive this vehicle in wet conditions or while towing as a faulty Anti Lock Braking system (ABS) could cause a loss of control. The dealer has diagnosed the failed unit in both instances and has the parts for repair ordered. The truck has the service ABS/Traction Control alert pop up on the dash readout.

The Service ABS light come on, around 32,390 miles just out of the 3 year/36,000 mile warranty! The cruse control no longer works! The traction control light is on with the ABS light! The abs module and hydraulic control unit has failed. This means that my safty and others on the road is put at risk because during heavy breaking you can loose control of the vehicle due to the truck anti break system does not work. Also the traction control does not work which also will cause you to loose control.

The service brake system and service antilock brake system light came on. This light comes on quite often and shuts off intermittently. The pick-up no-longer has anti-lock brakes, traction control, or stability control. When light is on cruise will not work which if it set and light comes on it will shut-off and cause vehicle to drop speed which could cause an accident. Last time I drove it it felt like the brakes were spongy or not really engaging, which almost cause me to go through stop sign on to a highway. I have not had a chance to take it in to get checked yet, and the parts to repair I believe are back ordered.

Dealership has confirmed that ABS and HCU modules are cause. Dealership confirmed HCU Pump control module. Costing me quoted $1750 for repairs and unknown when part comes in. Earliest is end of March. All the forums and videos I've seen that this is constantly happening and this needs to be recalled. I believe it already has on the 2019-2022 models. Safety concern with no abs or traction control. Also cruise control won't work.

While driving my truck in the interstate in the rain, I went to change lanes and accelerate to pass a slower moving vehicle. As soon as I hit the accelerator the antilock brake system warning light illuminated and the rear wheels broke traction. The rear end of the truck began to slide and I nearly lost control. I had not had any problems with the brake system prior to this incident. From that point on the service abs/brakes light and alert noise began to activate on and off intermittently and the traction control is inoperable. In doing research this is apparently a known issue with the hydraulic brake control unit. I was fortunate to be able to maintain control of the truck.

Research online indicates this is a very common problem. This is a clear safety hazard. A recall needs to be issued for these failing parts. I had these parts replaced one year ago and they already have failed again.
