System constantly chimes alarm on and off for Service electronic braking system, Service Antilock brake system. The HCU seems to be in short supply because you cannot buy it online or from a dealership they all show out of stock or backordered with no eta of when it will come in. I feel like it only a matter of time before it causes an accident. Seems to be a known issue with RAM. I have a video on my phone of it going off constantly

2018 RAM 2500, both the hydraulic control unit and the anti-lock brake system module had to be replaced with only 46,000 miles. I would get a warning to "Service Electronic Breaking System while going highway speed with the cruise control on. Once I receive the warning, it would disengage the cruise control without any notice. That is very scary and dangerous.

The abs and traction control lights come on and go off intermittently. I took the truck to the dealer they said it need a new hcu which costs 500$ and 1000$ for labor the truck has 27000 miles on it and is out os warranty. The part need is on back order. I feel this is a defect and there should be a recall. Thanks for any help you can give. [XXX] INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

The ABS - Electronic Braking System fault light flashes on the dash while driving. This could cause a crash during hard braking, rain slick roads, or while towing. The truck has been to the dealership about this concern and was told the parts are not available for at least 6 months. I was also told by the dealership that the manufacture who makes the parts is not longer in business and there is no plans for Ram to source a new manufacturer. The part at fault is the ABS module and Hydraulic Control Unit. These parts were replaced while under factory warranty in August of 2020 with 13,894 miles and needs to be replaced again under RAM's extended warranty with 24,000 miles. This is an ongoing issue with these trucks. I keep getting mixed answers if the truck will pass a state inspection with the ABS light on.

In December 2022 the ABS warning light came on in my truck. Dealer confirmed that the ABS Module needed to be replaced. My dealer also said that there were several other like vehicles that they were holding onto for the same reason. Internet search revealed that this is a known issue with Ram. The real problem is that the part is apparently on a long backorder. There are reports of people waiting 6 months for the module. I was initially supposed to get the part on 18 JAN but that date shifted to 15 March and the dealer is telling me it's unlikely we'll even get it then. Two issues as I see it. 1- Ram has installed defective ABS modules in its trucks and has no way of replacing them. My truck is a 2018 with only 43000 miles on it, should ABS modules be going bad" Should a vehicle owner have a reasonable expectation that the company will be able to fix/backup it's products" The other issue that really pertains to NHTSA is that I've heard from multiple people that, due to the long wait times for the part, they're simply pulling their vehicles out and using them. Most people (like me) are struggling with being down a vehicle for months at a time. Many require it for work. The brakes still function but the ABS will not (nor will the cruise control). If the reason that vehicles all come equipped with ABS is for safety, it makes sense to me that having vehicles on the road without it is unsafe. But what are people to do when Ram will not provide a part? I'm working my issues with Ram customer care but they are not helpful. There is no buyback program for backordered parts. There is no rental or loaner program. My insurance will not cover a rental because it's a backordered part. There is no anticipated end to the parts wait and this is encouraging people to drive unsafe vehicles.

I have a 2018 Ram 2500 with 68000 miles. Last year while driving the ABS and traction control light came on. The sensor will frequently trip and the code will come in and out intermittently. Upon research, it seems this is a known deficiency with this model. I called the dealership and while they agree it is a known issue, there is no recall so I will be forced to put out the money myself. With labor the cost would be over $1600. I am about to spend over $500 for a new Electronic and Hydraulic Control unit for the trucks ABS and just do the repair myself. Is there any relief at this point from the NHTSA" can we finally get a recall issued? I have seen over 212 complaints on this very website for this very topic. This is only the ones that have found this website and made a complaint. How many more dont know to do this"

The ABS and Traction Control units stopped working with 23,000 miles on the truck which also caused the cruise control to stop working. This is obviously very dangerous to have the brake system fail. Dealer has taken 8 weeks to get the parts and is costing over $2000 to repair. The dealer states they have never had this however there are many forums / videos on the Internet discussing this exact problem. The 2019 to 2022 RAMs already have a recall for this exact problem while the 2017 and 2018 owners have to pay for it out of pocket.

Started getting Service Brake System and ABS warnings in July 22. Had the ABS module replaced. Still getting alerts which deactivates the cruise control randomly when the warning appears. Warnings ding randomly and frequently. Apparently the hydraulic control unit needs replaced but the part is not available and can't be ordered now. I'm worried that I will lose my brakes.

Had the Service Electronic Braking System Light warning activate at around 30k miles. Cycles off and on continuously rendering cruise control inoperative. The dealer diagnosed and replaced a faulty HCU. At 44K miles the problem appeared again with the same indications. Diagnosed as the same cause. Waited a few weeks for parts, now awaiting a service appointment to have issue fixed. Over 3 months now with intermittent ABS operability. RAM's urgency to fix the issue has been extremely dissapointing.

Code for right rear wheel speed sensor came on. Resulting in no abs, traction control, 4x4, or parking sensors. I bought new part from dealer had mechanic change it. Reflash abs and still on. Went off briefly for 5 seconds came back on. I've realized it's it's common problem. Resulting in the abs module needing replaced. But it's only a temporary fix.

Bought a truck and drove around 420 miles home, within 24 hours of purchase warning lights and sounds went on and off over and over while driving. Took it to 3 mechanic shops, and all 3 said it was the same thing. All shops said it's been a problem for that truck, but there are no recalls on it yet. The warning lights are for the very important ABS brake system and traction control system. Having a hard time finding a mechanic shop that can get the parts to fix the problem.

In july 2020 the service electronic braking system and service antilock braking system lights and messages started to randomly appear and go away on the dashboard at around 24,000 miles the dealer changed the abs module and controller under warranty on aug 07 2020. Now at 67000 miles on Feb 01 2023 the same messages are happening with code c0021-01 this will be the second brake control module that is failing that will have to be replaced on this vehicle another guy I work with has experienced the same failure on a 2016 ram 2500 around 30000 miles and we are told parts are on back order

ABS & Traction Control System lights began flashing intermittently, then remain lit. Loss of ABS system control and cruise control. Dealer in Brookhaven, MS diagnosed faulty HCU as the issue in October 2022. As of 1/31/23, HCU is still on back order, resulting in loss if use of my vehicle for nearly 4 months. I use my truck to support my small business, so hardship is mounting.
